Thanks Mich! I havn't finished it all yet I have to analyze it, so I am reading it very slowly. I finally gave up at 1:am only 12 more chapters to go Here is another chapter for you while I take a quick break!

Chapter 17: The Elf, the Closet and the Locket

After dressing, the family met in the living room. “Ok.” Lily said to her husband and her son. “We will apperate to the Burrow first, ready?” She asked them. “One, two, three.” And with a crack they were gone, appearing in the next instance in the front yard of the Burrow.

The Weasley family and the other guests were waiting out front for them, so when they landed, James literally landed on top of Tonks. “Sorry about that.” He said laughing as he helped her up.

“Ok, group, now that we are all here, lets go.” Arthur said as he began walking up the hill and away from the house. Harry confused followed. “Where are we going?” he asked. “We have to catch a portkey just up here.” Arthur replied keeping up a steady pace.

“Oh.” Harry responded as he struggled to keep up. Finally getting into the groove of the pace, he once again lost himself in his memory.

It had been a long night of laughter and good food. As the hour grew late, Harry, bidding everyone good night, finally retired to his room.

The others had insisted that he sleep in the Master’s bedroom, seeing as that Grimmuald Place belonged to him. “Anything to get out of that room with Phineus.” He thought to himself. As he entered the room though, he felt a sense of foreboding and had to resist the urge to ask Ron to spend the night with him.

Although the room had been cleaned and no longer had that dank musty smell, he still felt out of place, like he was intruding onto something that was not his.

He climbed into the huge bed, and was pleasantly surprised at how comfortable it was. He felt himself sinking into the bed and drifting off to sleep. As he was sinking into slumber, and image suddenly popped into his head. Jumping out of the bed, shrieking, he barreled out of the room and up the stair case, completely oblivious to the group of people following concerned behind him.

He slammed open the door to the room, “Where did you put the stuff, Kreacher?” He asked panting. The house elf who had been sleeping jumped out of bed startled. “Under the cabinet sir.” he said before he could stop himself. The woman in the portrait opened her mouth to start screaming, “Oh no you don’t.” Harry said crossly, interrupting the woman before she could even start, “I will use you as fire wood if you even utter a sound.” The woman’s jaw instantly snapped back into place before a sound had even been uttered.

“Come Kreacher, show me.” Harry said motioning the scowling elf to the door. He followed behind Kreacher as he led Harry and the still unnoticed group of people down the hall, where he hit the wall. Suddenly a section of the wall shifted over exposing a cupboard that had been hidden. Inside was crammed full of various objects. With a wave of his wand, the cupboard was spotless. Ignoring Kreacher’s shriek of anger, Harry turned to head back downstairs when he ran into and became aware of the baffled crowd standing behind him.

Wordlessly, but with a blush to his face he headed back downstairs the group in tow. He entered the drawing room to find the whole mess from the closet on the floor. Setting down, he began to sift through the pile, one item at a time, until he found what he was looking for.

Triumphantly, he held the locket up for all to see.

“What are you thinking about Harry?” Hermione asked him, interrupting his thoughts.

A thin sheen of sweat covered Harry’s face and he took his sweater off in the morning sun before he answered her.

“The locket.” Harry answered truthfully. “I was thinking of the night that we found it and destroyed it.”

“That was a right smart thought that you had there Harry.” Moody said coming up on them, slapping Harry’s back so hard that he stumbled forward a few steps and had tears stinging in his eyes.

“Yes, well, we couldn’t have destroyed it with out you, Professor.” Harry replied, his comment causing Alastor’s chest to swell out.

“Don’t call me Professor, boy.” Moody said gruffly, but with a smile on his face.

“Ah, we are here.” Arthur said, bending over an object. Harry had to laugh as he realized it was an old beat-up muggle computer monitor.
