Hogwarts RPG Name: Athena Evans (A twin) Third | Chapter 11: The Wand Keeper Inside the store, in the middle of what appeared to be a large angry crowd stood his parents, both with frightened expresssions on their faces. Harry burst through the door yelling, “What is going on?! back up you lot! what is going on!?” James looked over at Harry, and his look of fear was replaced with an amused expression. “Harry.” He said calmly, “What are you doing?” He asked his son. “Well, I saw….angry people….thought…threatened...” Harry stuttered, at a loss at his fathers’ amused expression. “We are fine dear.” His mother said to him, “These are some old friends, they were just telling us about poor Frank and Alice.” She said shaking her head in sadness. “We should really go visit them.” She added. Harry stared at his parents, comprehension dawning on his face. He had once again made a scene were one didn’t exist and he had jumped to conclusions. Sighing, he asked, “So why are you guys talking in here? Why not out on the street.” “Oh, well your father needs a new wand.” Lily said brusquely remembering the task at hand. “His never turned up after the…incident…you know.” She said choosing her words carefully. “Oh, well, ok.” Harry said uncertainly. He decided to stay and watch his father get a new wand. “Mr. Potter.” Olivandar said in awe as he came out from the back of his shop. “Back from the dead, I see.” He said to the shock of everyone still in the store. James merely laughed at his comment. “I knew we could expect great things from you, Harry.” The man said suddenly in an almost awe struck voice as he turned to gaze at Harry. “Oh,” said Lily, alarmed by Olivandar’s tone “who said it was Harry?” Lily asked laughing nervously. Olivandar, not saying anything, simply smiled. “Where were you, Mr. Olivandar?” Harry suddenly asked, remembering something. “I mean, when you disappeared last year. Where did you go?” “Well, I went into hiding of course.” He replied in tone that was meant to imply that his answer should be good enough. Several people in the store began to nod, understanding. “But why?” Harry insisted, “Why would you feel the need to go into hiding.” Eyes began to turn suspiciously to Mr. Olivandar. “Because, dear boy,” Olivandar began, laughing some what nervously, “I had to hide from the death eaters, I am very valuable as a wand maker.” He begin to fidget slightly. Most people in the shop turned to see how or even if Harry would counter such a solid claim. There was obviously no denying his claim to making fine wands. His parents however where staring at him curiously. “Yes that does make sense.” Harry said smiling. Olivandar smiled back and started to turn back to the counter, “So why did you leave all of your wands here?” Harry asked, the smile still on his face. “What?” Olivandar asked turning back towards Harry, a slight frown on his face as he eyed Harry. “Well, Mr. Olivandar,” Harry began. “when you disappeared last year, you left your store intact. Nothing was removed, nothing was damaged. The ministry was trying to figure out what had happened to you, so they opened up your store to see if there were signs of foul play. Everything in your store was intact; they said it looked like you had just up and left, leaving everything behind.” “So? What’s your point, I was scared and left in a hurry.” Olivandar said, not trying to hide his anger any longer. “You said that you went into hiding because you are a valuable wand maker, however you didn’t make any effort to hide the wands you had already made. We have all purchased wands before, Mr. Olivandar. It might take someone a while, but what was there to stop a bunch of death eaters from breaking into your store and just stealing themselves new wands if something were to happen to theirs. They would know what to expect from a wand that was a match for them. And don’t say that you had magical safety measures in place, the Ministry would have run into them when they searched the place.” Harry had said all of this in a conversational tone, the slight smile still on his face. “What are you accusing me of, boy.” Olivandar growled at him. “Oh nothing. I was just asking where you were.” Harry said, knowing that the damage was already done, and not caring. If he was apart of something he needed to be exposed. “Get out of my store. All of you.” He said in a dangerously low voice. Harry got up. “I will leave, but my father needs a new wand. You will get him one, the right one.” Harry said in voice that left no room for question. “These people in here did not make you angry; I did; besides you do make the best wands.” Harry said as he strolled out of the store. |
