P.S: I dunno if 'freeing' is a word... so ya, whatever Chapter 7
Imperius Curse Dezi saw one of the Death Eaters fall down dead. Looking over her shoulder, she just saw at least three others run out of the room, footsteps echoing through the house of Lily and James Potter in Godric’s Hollow. She turned back and saw Harry kneeling beside a body. Walking up to him and the body, she recognized the blonde head of her father Draco.
“What’re doing here, Pot-Head?” Draco snapped, a loathsome expression taking over his face. Dezi saw a look of horror on Harry’s face.
“Come on Malfoy, we have to go,” he said after a moment.
“What makes you think I’d go anywhere with you?” he responded as he sat up.
“You want a free bed and free food?”
“I’d rather go to a muggle hotel then your old, grimy place.”
Dezi watched Harry pull Draco up off the floor.
“Don’t touch me!” Draco snapped as he brushed his clothes. Harry grabbed his robes and disappeared with a pop. Dezi seemed to follow him, now on a dark road just outside of Grimmauld Place.
“Why am I here?” he snapped.
“You live here, incidentally,” Harry said with a bitter edge as he led Draco to the door of Grimmauld Place. Dezi followed behind them and entered the house along with the two. Harry dragged Draco into the kitchen, Dezi slipped in behind them. She saw Draco’s expression turn to disgust.
“What’s the mudblood doing here?” Draco asked bluntly. Dezi looked to the other end of the kitchen and saw the expression on Hermione’s face, confused yet insulted.
“Hey Malfoy, there’s a bed upstairs with your things on it, why don’t you go up there for a good night’s sleep?” Harry offered.
Draco pulled away from Harry and walked away. He slammed the kitchen door behind him, the walls trembling at the force.
“What the hell did you do to him?” Hermione practically exclaimed. Harry looked completely taken off guard.
“Wha... me? Why would I do something like that to him and drag him all the way back here?” he shot back at her.
“Then why’s he the way he is right now?”
“He was captive of the Death Eaters, Three got away, but one of them must’ve put him under the Imperius Curse.”
Hermione’s expression turned into disgust similar to Malfoy’s earlier and she shook her head slowly.
“Those...”
“I had a suggestion for you,” Harry cut her off. Dezi snorted, knowing what Hermione was about to say.
“What?” she practically snapped.
“Have you read The Daily Prophet recently?”
Hermione scowled. Dezi chuckled.
“Well since you did apparently, you’d know they’ve found an anti-potion for the Imperius Curse,” Harry said. “But it’s really expensive...”
“How expensive?”
“About two thousand Galleons.”
Hermione’s mouth dropped as she gasped.
“What?” she nearly screamed.
“Well I know you have the money...”
“It’s money for the wedding, Harry!”
“Well you’re not going to have a wedding unless you fix Malfoy.” With that, Harry walked away. Hermione fell into her chair, crying softly.
“Mum...”
Before she knew it, Dezi was being pulled away from the kitchen of Grimmauld Place...
Dezi shot up in her bed. Looking around, she remembered she had gotten out of the hospital wing just yesterday. She looked at the alarm clock and noticed it was 7:30am, so she slipped out of bed. Getting changed, she ran down the stairs that led to the dormitories, spurred by her hunger. She was never much of a breakfast eater, but today Dezi felt like she could take an entire farm of animals.
Rounding a corner, she saw a group of Slytherin girls, seeming to be waiting. Not caring, Dezi passed by them, and they didn’t even notice. As soon as she sat down at the Gryffindor table, a small section for her as normal, she took and empty plate and started grabbing one of everything. She heard someone sit down... next to her. Looking to her right, she saw Shane.
“What’re you doing?”
Dezi looked at a girl across the table and down a few seats with an odd expression on her face, looking at Shane.
“Sitting,” he responded as if it was obvious.
“There?”
“Where else?” he responded calmly.
“Next to her?”
Shane looked at Dezi, smiled, then back at the girl.
“Yeah, so?” he responded, shrugging as he started into his breakfast.
Dezi was just as surprised as the other girl was, but it wasn’t that big of a deal. She never had someone at Hogwarts actually want to be near her, even Kristal would be a distance away from her when they were 'friends'. She liked the feeling of having someone that cared around her, it felt freeing. For the first time that she could ever remember, she was wanted as a friend, as someone to be around.
Dezi's stomach rumbled, so she dug into her breakfast as well.
(o.o.s: can't exactly say loved for the 'for the first time...' part now can I? )
