Or keep it the way it is right now? Cause I know reading wise it can be easier to have the paragraph spaces, so I don't mind doing that if you all want me to.
Anyways, this chapter doesn't have the spaces. I'll do the spaces in the next chapter and you can say if you want the spaces or not

Chapter 3
Shane White
Light flooded into Dezi’s eyes. She was looking up at the ceiling of a room. Squinting to get a better look at things, she saw the Matron hovering above her.
“Oh, you’re up. Take this.” She handed Dezi a potion and scuttled off. Sitting up, she saw the face of a black haired, grey eyed boy that looked to be around her age.
“Uh... hi?” she said, unsure of what to say exactly. “Who’re you?”
He appeared to be in thought for a moment.
“Shane,” he said, smiling. “I never caught your name...”
Dezi couldn’t help but feel like she knew this guy, she swore she’s seen him before. Wherever she saw him before, she had to admit that he was handsome.
No, not now... he’s probably just like everyone else, wanting to break me down even more than I already am...
“Desiree, but Dezi works. So what’re you doing here?” she responded somewhat hesitantly.
“I happened to pass by as a group of Slytherins sent a flurry of hexes at you in the corridor outside the Great Hall.”
“What happened after that...?”
“Well you’ve been unconscious for the past two hours, that’s all there is to it,” Shane responded, shrugging.
Dezi couldn’t help but smile. She’s never had a good enough reason to smile in so long, it surprised her when she did.
“You might to drink that,” Shane commented casually.
Unwillingly, Dezi took down the potion. It had a bitter-sweet-sour taste, completely horrible. Her face tightened as she forced it down. Shane chuckled.
“So what house are you in anyways? I mean, you obviously aren’t in Slytherin...”
“Gryffindor.”
“Really?” Dezi asked, amazed. Maybe that’s where she’s seen him. “What year?”
“Sixth.”
“Huh...” Dezi didn’t recall ever seeing him in any of her classes, but now that she thought of it, she hadn’t a clue if she saw him in the common room.
“What year are you in?”
“Sixth as well... I don’t remember seeing you in any of my classes.”
“Well I don’t either, but it’s not like I really pay attention...”
Dezi smiled again. This boy had her starting a new record for how many times she’s smiling in under an hour, let alone a day. It might be fairly sad that she’s smiled twice in under an hour and that’s her ‘record’, but Dezi’s life has been that hard.
“Always getting in trouble?”
“I guess you can say that,” he responded, shrugging.
Before Dezi could respond, her head started spinning again.
“Something wrong, dear?” the matron asked her as she passed by again.
“Just... dizzying... what was in that potion?”
“Oh, just one of the side affects, nothing to worry about. Mr. White, it might be best if you leave for now.”
Before Dezi could complain, Madam Pomfrey walked away again.
“If you want, I can come back later,” Shane said.
“If you have time,” Dezi responded, smiling once more.
“I’ll see you later then, Dezi.” The new boy got up and left the hospital wing.
“He’s been here the whole two hours,” the old matron Madam Pomfrey told her. “He refused to leave until you woke up.”
“Really?” Dezi asked, the world around her turning blurry and starting to spin again.
“Yes, worried sick, that boy...”
Before Dezi could say anything more, she had fallen back into the hospital bed, asleep once more.
