Aaah, the first arrival was a Slytherin. Rosalyn gave the girl a friendly smile. "Good morning, Miss Holmes!"

But so far, everyone had been safe. Just tense, and she was stressed out over waiting for the other shoe to drop. Not to mention stress over impending exams. Seventh year was hard enough without portals popping up out of nowhere and kidnapping people.

She didn’t blame Professor Newton for standing there at the door, monitoring the corridor. In fact, it relieved her a little and she’d smiled at the woman as she’d slipped past her to enter the classroom. “Good morning, Professor Newton,” she said, about s brightly as she felt was possible. The sight of cupcakes made it a little easier, and she went over to help herself to a chocolate one on her way to a seat. Along with giving Zelena a little smile.
Another Slytherin to arrive. Rosalyn returned the smile. "Good morning, Miss Penrose." Hopefully she - and the other students - would enjoy the cupcakes that she had baked, though of course she could understand if anyone didn't want to eat them.

Certain people that may no longer even care to know of her existence. This wasn't the basis of her coming back, of course. The blonde Gryffindor wasn't here solely to reconnect with anyone other than herself, to be honest... but... Well... It'd been over two months. A lot could changed in that amount of time.

She had.

Gone was the sickly girl of early 2092. Her mother, after learning the truth, had shipped her away... and those she'd found refuge with had taken every available opportunity to stuff food down her throat. Between the constant eating, the over-exposure to the sun, and their more natural healing methods, Olivia was presenting quite a different picture these days. She had FRECKLES, for Moon's sake. She'd never had a freckle before in her life... Not that she minded too much. Not only did she look healthy, but she felt it, as well.

In the end, all that had been needed was time. Her mother had been right. Ugh, and the woman had wasted zero time in making sure she was aware of this. Of course.... Of course.

Steeling herself against her own fears, Liv stepped casually into the History of Magic classroom. It was just a normal day. No big deal. She was simply here to learn some things and.......... And... You know. Gods help her be strong and fearless today. As if to affirm this to herself, the blonde clasped at the rose quartz crystal hanging around her neck. They were just her peers. She'd seen their faces before. This was okay............OH, Professor Newton!

Clearing her throat, Olivia smiled BRIGHTLY (yes, GASP!) at the older woman. "Hello, Professor." Long time, no see... Now, excuse her. she was just going to take a seat and try to... Breathe. Yes. Breathe. Breathing was awesome.
Rosalyn couldn't lie; she was rather surprised to see the arrival of Olivia to her lesson. It was a GOOD surprise though, as she had missed the girl and had been rather worried about her. Looked like she was back and ready to get back on track, which was a wonderful thing. "Morning, Miss Phillips! It's great to see you back." Hopefully she would enjoy today's lesson.

"Hello, professor!" Etta greeted as she entered the classroom. The Hufflepuff made her way to an empty seat somewhere near the middle, noticing the blonde girl. Olivia, right? Etta had never met her properly or anything but knew her name, of course. Same classes and everything. "Hi!" She turned to look at the other girl with a warm smile, while pulling out her parchments and quill. "Welcome back!" The other two students got a smile too.
Well, someone was in a good mood this morning! It made Rosalyn even happier. Especially seeing as Henrietta had been one of the students who had been sucked into a portal. Something that needed to never happen again. "Hello, Miss Kramer!" she said with a smile.

The hours of the day he couldn't follow Henry, Roo or healer Reed around were miserable. Luckily, the History of Magic class room was on the first floor and not too far from his common room. It hadn't taken long before a group of students left the common room this morning and he could tag along and follow them to the first floor. The group walked on towards another class but he had checked his schedule four times. It was History of Magic time.

The young Slytherin spotted professor Newton in the entrance and he gave her a hesitant wave. Oh hi. He'd been with professor Newton by the pathways when he got taken by the portal. Felt like ages ago he sat on that bench talking about house elves with her. Although he still wanted to move into the hospital wing to live happily ever after with Henry, Roo, healer Reed and the dogs as a big dysfunctional happy family he still wanted to return to class. He was behind on school work SO MUCH. So, so much. Plus Healer Reed told them that the sooner they got back into the routines of their old lives, the better. That way those "panic attacks" he called them, would come less frequently and the flashbacks would disappear. Carlton did exactly what healer Reed told him to do. Except the memory extraction thing... Because if Henry and Rooney wouldn't do it, then he wouldn't either.

"Hi." He mumbled, giving the professor a quick look. Hi adult. Please save me if the monster appears during class? Mmmmk.

Carlton quickly walked in to the room, head bent down and seeking out a seat in the back of the class. He ALWAYS sat in the front. But not this time. He needed to have his eyes on the door, to avoid being startled and he needed to see all the corners of the room because monsters hid in the shadows. Plus people were staring at him after coming back from the portal. If they wanted to stare at him now, they would have to fully turn around and look at him.

He avoided eye contact with everyone already in the room and neatly placed his notes, quill and textbook on the table. Then he curled up into a ball and began his new project: which was to stare at the door until Henry or Rooney showed up.
...Carlton.

It was hard to keep Rosalyn's face from falling once she spotted the boy, though she managed to hide the change in her emotions. Of course it wasn't anything bad about the boy; in fact she had a big soft spot for the child. It had increased after what had happened to him. She had been with him at the time he had been snatched and if she had only acted sooner, he never would have been in that situation. The poor child.

"Hello, Mr Lewis," she said extra kindly.

It had been the hardest to not attend History of Magic though over those weeks. And now that he finally had a new wand, thanks to his mother's insisting, he supposed he was ready to be in an open area with other students. He hadn't even used his new wand yet. It had sat on his beside cabinet for almost a week now. Luckily, it was rare that they used magic in this class. Hence why he had chosen it.

Very unlike himself, the Prefect was quiet as he walked in, managing only a half smile to Professor Newton before making his way to the back of the classroom. Out of sight, out of mind. Or so he hoped. The questions had already become enough to upset him, especially after Kitty had happened in their common room. He doubted that he would ever look at her, or talk to her in the same way again. Being nosy in inappropriate situations was a negative trait. And Kitty was all about that nosing. Ugh.

And so he hid in the back of the classroom, only soothed by the fact that Carlton had had the same idea and sat as close as possible as he could get to the first year. Hi, kid, hi. As he started to unload his study items onto the desk, he was captured by some sort of breeze...or...just air from the door....and he could smell something vastly familiar. His own shampoo? No. Carlton's? He gave the boy's head a sniff and decided that that wasn't it and then properly looked about the classroom......

No.

She wasn't.

She hadn't.

She was...back?

Rooney was unable to collect his thoughts and his jaw drop at the same time and ended up hiding his face in his arms. No thank you. No thank you. He hadn't seen Olivia Phillips since they broke up and that could not be really her. Besides, that girl had blonder hair than Olivia so it couldn't possibly be her.
Almost immediately another portal victim walked into the classroom. One that she was very happy to see because he was one of her best students and one that she had a soft spot for. Well, she had a soft spot for ALL of her students, but still. "Morning, Mr Bronwyn," she said kindly in response to his nod. It pained her to know what had happened to him and the others. It broke her heart.

Heading into class, she waved at the professor who was keeping an eye on the corridor. "Good day Professor." She said, giving the professor a half-smile before entering the classroom.

They. Were. Here.

Noelle saw Liv, Carlton, and Rooney in class. She didnt even try hiding her smile. It was good to see them back in class, despite the circumstances.

Heading for the middle of the classroom, she took a seat but glanced around at the three, feeling oddly... whole that they were back in class.
The arrival of another Prefect drew Rosalyn away from her thoughts which was a good thing. "Good morning, Miss Summers!" She returned the smile.

She smiled as she entered the classroom, greeting the professor. "Hello Professor" The blonde hufflepuff spoke, before she turned to take a seat. She noticed that Carlton and Rooney were in the class, as well as Liv whom she recalled that she hadn't seen for a while either. She didn't say anything, just smiled.

She'd also noticed Noelle, and the third year decided to sit next to her. "Hi" She murmured quietly, as she sat herself down next to her friend.
The next to arrive was Harriet, and Rosalyn gave the girl a smile. "Morning, Miss Patton." The girl seemed to be in a good mood this morning, and that was a good thing. Honestly the students must be happy just to be out of their common rooms. That was understandable, though the curfew was necessary so that nothing else could happen.

The older boy didn't really know the three recently returned kids, and so he just gave them a wave and moved to settle into his seat.
"Good morning, Mr Kennedy. I am doing well and hope that you are too," Rosalyn said as the next student arrived. He seemed to be in a pretty good mood too! Also he had good timing because it was almost time for her to start the lesson.

"Hello Professor," she greeted as she noted of the professor standing by the door. And there were cupcakes, to which the chocolate one looked strangely delicious at present but her head was telling her no. But then on the other hand, students had been sucked up by a mysterious portal throughout the term and there was also the possibility of Hogwarts closing, so it could be a first and last time she ever took food during a professor's class? Standing there deliberating over taking or not taking the cupcake for what could have been five minutes probably not that long but it WAS awhile, Sky finally took a deep breath and took one on a napkin, before spinning on the spot to find a seat.

Carlton.

Without a second thought, Sky headed to the back of the room; she never sat this far back, usually opting for seats someplace in the middle, but given the situation with him disappearing for DAYS, she felt compelled to be near him as much as possible.

Giving him a polite smile and another to the Ravenclaw Prefect who had occupied his other side. Hi, baby snake.

Unloading her things on her desk, carefully placing the cupcake in the corner so it wouldn't bother her notetaking but was there to snack on, she had recurring thoughts about food from professors again. Deep breath. Pinching a small bit off, she closed her eyes and stuck it in her mouth before she could talk herself out of it.
Right behind Leon was Skylar. "Morning, Miss Diggory!" If Rosalyn had been inside the classroom, she would have been rather surprised to see the girl take a cupcake before finding her seat. As it was, she was keeping all eyes on the corridor, ready to strike if any danger appeared.

"Good morning Professor Newton," she greeted Rosalyn cheerfully as she passed her to go into the classroom. "How are you?"

Then she took a chocolate cupcake and sat down in the front row. This, she reminded herself as she looked around, was the classroom of the infamous Slytherin debate. Of course that felt like ages ago now, but she couldn't help but be reminded of it every time she came here. All water under the bridge now, she supposed.
Another Prefect, and one that Rosalyn was very fond of. She still felt bad about the detention thing, but then it wasn't in her nature to give punishments like that. Still, she was sure that Kitty had learned from the experience and would take more considerations in the future while still expressing her opinion on matters. "Good morning, Miss Valentine. I am doing quite well and hope you are too." Sure seemed it!

SAFE!

Or, at least there was a professor around, and he felt safer now. Not that he was being a wimp or anything, though. "Hello, Professor," he said, walking through the door. Then he saw the snack. Duuuuuuude. CUPCAKES! He headed over to claim one then took his seat.
It seemed that Brent was rather worried about walking the corridors judging by the fact that he rushed towards the classroom, and Rosalyn couldn't blame him one bit for that. She herself wanted to get to places quickly these days, though of course she didn't and was happy to do the patrols since it meant that she was helping keep the school safe for the students. "Hello, Mr Westwood!"

She saw out of the corner of her eye that the professor had put out cupcakes. She grabbed two chocolate ones...she was starving from running around the castle all morning. "Hello, Professor Newton! Thanks for the cupcakes!" She said with a weary smile and wave.

She noticed Rooney, Olivia, and Carlton were back in class. She was so happy to see it, but she didn't want to bother them, so she gave them all small smiles, before walking over to Leon and siting down, with a sigh. "Hey, Cap!" She said with a small smile and a nudge, before pulling out everything she would need for class.
It was almost time to close the doors when Juno arrived. It wasn't too surprising to see the girl running on the late side, since part of her duties was to provide an escort for other students. She was still on time. "Hello, Miss Darcy. You are very welcome."

Besides, with this curfew still in effect he didn't have a lot of time to spend with his friends outside of class. So there he was, a bit groggy but otherwise present. He took a seat by Noelle and yawned.

"Morning professor."
It was rather obvious that Oliver was tired this morning, but that was something to be expected since she taught an early lesson. Rosalyn wanted to stay in bed half the time too, though coffee did a lot to help her wake up before lessons. It was a lifesaver. "Morning, Mr Borzekowski-Thomas." Hopefully he wouldn't fall asleep during class because she hated docking points.

Pointedly ignoring the cupcakes - no seriously, all the food was suspicious! - Derf lugged his enchanted suitcase into the classroom and towards a seat near the back since he was late and his usual spot down in front already taken. Just meant it would be a little harder to see since he was not all THAT tall and there were a bunch of giraffes in the form of older students already seated. Oh...wait...he had an idea! Getting his class materials out and placing them on his desk, Derf set his suitcase on his seat and then climb up on it. Perfect. Like those booster seats he used to sit in when he went out to restaurants to eat with mum and dad! Now he could...er...sort of see the board.

Grinning from aaaaall the way in the back, the first year offered the professor a wave. it would be rude to shout all the way across the classroom in greeting, you know? Even if he was naturally a loud kid.
"Good morning, Mr Ashburry-Hawthorne," Rosalyn said giving the boy a polite smile. Of course she didn't expect him to indulge on a cupcake; the boy seemed to be convinced that all food offered was poisoned. A fact that made her rather sad, but it was never a bad thing to be vigilant.

Declan figured his mother needed to yell at someone since she had probably tired of yelling at her husband about the missing children. In any case, he wasn't going to keep himself from learning further, especially on favorite subjects, over a few portals.

No matter how scary they could be.

"Hello, Professor," Declan greeted with a small nod and moved around her, as respectful as he could without dashing for the cupcakes. He saw Brent move away with a cupcake of his own and grinned. A very bright head of hair caught his attention and he found himself staring for a moment to recognize the face. She was a year ahead of him and for the life of him Declan could not remember her name. Giving up, he licked the frosting off his cupcake and walked away. There was no point in greeting if he couldn't remember her.

He took a seat towards the back, not before greeting Brent very quickly and sat nearby Etta. The middle was a good spot after all. He saw the Ravenclaw Prefect (or the top of his shaggy head anyway) and felt a small sense of guilt at not remembering his name. They were the same year and he had been gone until recently. He should have known his name by now. He clearly did not seem to be okay and Declan wondered what would be the right move to....console...or...?

Declan wiped the piece of frosting he had licked away with one finger and gently scooted the cupcake he had picked on to the Ravenclaw Prefect's desk. "Cupcake, mate?"
It was just about time for her to close the door. Rosalyn was pleased to see that the last stragglers were coming in. Wonderful as she hated docking points and it always made her sad when people walked in late. Fortunately that didn't happen often. "Morning, Mr Kenning." What a polite and respectful boy he was! It was something that she was always happy to see.

Anyway. There was Declan and Brent and Noelle and Kitty and Skylar and... other people. Levi would have gladly said hi to everyone had he not been too busy yawning for what felt the hundredth time in less than ten minutes. He made sure to grab a cupcake--today's version of breakfast--and went over to sit by his brother, who was being friendly or something.

Levi blinked several times at this. Though possibly half of his blinks were to keep himself awake.

Was that the missing Ravenclaw prefect? And the other young kid? Or not missing, clearly. Good for them. "Hi, hi." He said, to everyone in the vicinity, yet no one in particular. It felt awkward enough that Declan was forcing him to do his version of socializing with the returnees; Levi had no idea what to say to them. I feel so bad that happened to you felt both inadequate and ridiculous and also insensible. His feelings weren't important. And yet.

He bit down into his cupcake and waited for the lesson to begin.
Annnnnd there was Levi making excellent timing and arriving just before the door closed. "Hello, Mr Kenning." The boy was obviously very tired, and once again she found herself hoping that there wouldn't be a student falling asleep on her. Only time would tell.

Satisfied that everyone had arrived safely, Rosalyn closed the door. Hopefully there wouldn't be any arrivals after this, because it made her REALLY nervous what with the safety measures in place. Prefects were supposed to be doing the escorting, and students coming in with no escorts was a BAD thing.

Hoping for the best, she made her way to the front of the classroom, ready to launch into the topic of the day. Hopefully the students would enjoy it. While she had considered teaching on something similar to what was happening at the school, in the end she had decided to go with something completely different and hoped that it would help them to forget everything that was going on even for just a little while. Especially when it came to the people who had been sucked into the other dimension.

"Starting off, I would like to know what you guys know about Quidditch - focusing on its history." This WAS a history class after all. As THE ultimate sport of the wizarding world, Rosalyn expected them to know at least a little bit about the game's development.

OOC: Class has officially started! Please keep in mind that any arrivals at this point will result in points loss. It is better to pretend that you have been here the entire time. I will move the lesson along in approximately 24 hours.
