Zelena sat down in the middle row and looked at the eggs in the basket. She was a tad curious but she wasn't going to disobey rules so she munched on her cookies, making sure no crumbs were spilt. The strawberry punch was really effective in this warm weather. Gaston stood in his usual place at the front of the classroom leaning against the wall... not that his students would have any idea he was there. Today his presence was concealed by a disillusionment charm. He kept a watchful eye on the door, his had gripping his wand tightly just in case a student was in trouble. It wasn't long before Miss Holmes arrived. He beamed at the girl but said nothing so as not to tip her off to his presence. Quote:

Egg baskets, huh? What was this all about? Only moments later, Miss Tate walked in. Gaston almost said hello to her but stopped himself just in time. Merlin, it was strange not greeting the students as they arrived! It made him feel so rude! Instead he smiled in her direction as she took a seat. Quote:

She doubted class would have happened had he been taken by a portal, but then she also had the distinct thought that it was Charms class. He very well might have been disillusioned, but she kept that thought to herself. And also resisted giving a greeting to a possibly just invisible professor, on the chance that she’d look like she was stupid and speaking to thin air.
Instead, she merely walked over to investigate the choice of snacks, taking a cup of punch and a single bunny cookie to a seat once she’d decided where she wanted to sit. She gave Zelena and Genny a smile, too, but otherwise stayed quiet. There wasn’t a need to break the silence just because she could, after all. And here was Miss Penrose! She too received a smile from the invisible professor. His eyes followed her to the refreshment table, then to her seat. He saw her smile at the other two girls and half-expected her to strike up a conversation but she didn't. Quote:

But there were baskets with EGGS! Ohhhh sufficient enough distractions goody!
He would poke all curious like at these eggs and this basket. After scoring some Easter themed cookies of course. Gaston couldn't help but notice the spring in Mr. Salander's step this morning. He assumed the Gryffindor prefect was excited about the upcoming Easter break, but still it did his heart good to see this kind of positive attitude in his students! Quote:

The girl sat down and eyed the eggs curiously before pulling out her parchment and quill from the bag. She pushed the basket a little to the side of the desk before starting to doodle on her parchment, waiting for class to begin. Next to arrive was Miss Kramer. Gaston gave the girl a smile as a greeting and watched as she eyes the eggs on her desk. All would be revealed in due time... Quote:

Ahem.
When she arrived, she quickly looked at who was inside and who wasn't: Samuel Chevalier wasn't, and the rest didn't really interest her, although she did offer a polite smile at whoever acknowledged her first.
For the first time in her life, she hesitated about sitting at the front: Samuel... wouldn't sit there, would he? Why wasn't he already here? Why was she earlier than him!? Katherine mentally reprimanded herself: Next time, she was going to wait for him to enter first (or even better, appear juuuuuuuuust as he was entering so that he'd have to sit with her) but for today, she didn't really want to risk it. What if she sat somewhere in the middle, and he didn't, and she was stuck with some weirdo? Nah, there were too many variables to her liking, and so she sat at her usual spot: The middle of the first row.
Although she wanted to try the snacks, she didn't want to distract herself (and Samuel could enter at any moment now, she didn't want to greet him with a mouth full). She also couldn't really take out her notebook and set up her table, because her desk was occupied by an egg, which... she apparently shouldn't touch, and so she just waited for Samuel and professor to come in. Ah, here was Miss Moss. Gaston beamed at the Ravenclaw but his expression changed as he noticed that she hadn't taken any snacks and seemed to be hesitant about sitting. That had him concerned! He started to ask her if anything was wrong, but he suddenly remembered he was under a disillusionment charm and refrained. A voice coming from nowhere would probably frighten the poor girl! Quote:

And it was also true that it wasn't like he was getting that much freedom at Hogwarts these days, anyway. "Hello, Professor Marchand," He said quite enthusiastically as he walked in, noting a little too late that the man was not even there as far as he could tell. "WELL. Alright." Levi had at least managed to NOT look embarrassed by his blunder so obviously it had never happened. All part of his imagination and everyone else who might have heard, obviously. Ahem.
He sat down near Genny Tate and Tenacius, and quickly retrieved his journal and self inking quill. It seemed very unlikely that they would be having some eating contest for Charms, what with all the eggs, but Levi was comforted that if for some bizarre reason it did come to happen, well, he was already sort of hungry. Adolescence pains could be good sometimes, too. Mr. Kenning's greeting earned him a beam from the invisible professor. It was taking every bit of restraint he had not to return the boy's greeting, but he reminded himself that it was all part of the lesson plan. Quote:

He made a beeline for the refreshment table, grabbing one of the punches and stuffing two cookies in his mouth in the blink of an eye. Perhaps a sugar rush would wake him up...
Satisfied with the treats, he walked over to his usual spot near the right side of the room and plopped in his seat, waiting for class to begin. Was he just seeing things or did Mr. Westwood seem a little sleepy today? Gaston hoped there was nothing unfortunate going on in the boy's life to effect his sleep! To his relief, the Hufflepuff seemed to perk up a bit at the sight of the refreshments, and Gaston had to stifle a laugh as he watched him stuffing cookies into his mouth. Quote:

She really had no idea what they were going to do with the eggs- maybe make them hatch or something? Like a chocolate frog? That would be kind of cute, she supposed- but pointless. Then again, that seemed to be like a lot of their lessons, especially around holidays. Apparently everyone thought it was fun to learn stuff like that- well, but she should be glad to learn every spell. You never knew what would come in useful.
The room seemed weirdly quiet today, compared to the usual pre-class chatter, but that suited Sinead just fine: she was content to just sip her drink and wait for their Professor to arrive. Hopefully, whatever they were doing with the eggs, it would prove interesting. Not even a minute later, Miss Dance came in. Gaston smiled at her and watched as she served herslef some punch and took a seat. He was glad to see his students enjoying today's refreshments! Quote:

Placing the item back in his bag made his way over to an open desk. Turns out he did not have to rush. As the class was only just filling up.
He set his handbag down onto it. nudging the basket of eggs a bit to the side. He peered at the eggs briefly, then cautiously he poked all three of the eggs.
With a shrug in his shoulder the bespectacled Hufflepuff 1st year moved to the back of the class and eyed the Sugar Cookies. Now he was sure his Potion for nut allergies was fine, but regardless these cookies looked nut free. So he took one and brought it back to his desk with him and sat down. Mr. Rockefeller seemed to be in a bit of a hurry today! Gaston watched with concern as the little Hufflepuff stopped in the doorway and pulled an inhaler out of his bag. A moment later, the boy seemed to be fine, which the professor was very glad of, and he watched as he peered and poked at the eggs on his desk. Curiosity was a good thing. Quote:

Well...that was a load of dragon dung!
Dragging his enchanted suitcase with him over to a vacant seat, Derf flopped into the seat next to an older Gryffindor and grinned over at her. "What do you reckon is-s-s ins-side?" he asked, picking up one of the three, holding it to his ear, and shaking it like he did his Christmas gifts on Christmas Eve when mum and dad would let him open up just ONE...so he needed to shake them all to figure out which one he wanted to open the MOST. And here was another little Hufflepuff! Gaston was practically beaming as Mr. Ashbury-Hawthorne burst into the room. Now this was the kind of enthusiasm he liked to see! He overheard the boy ask someone what was inside the eggs, and he chuckled to himself as he watched him pick up one of the eggs and shake it. He was glad the contents of those eggs weren't breakable! In fact Olly wondered if he was in the room, just hiding himself in some way. The professors at Hogwarts had been known to do that from time to time.
Noelle wasn't there yet so Olly had to choose his own seat. He ended up near Katherine. They had never really been each other's favorite people but he thought she was alright. And she was friends with his sister, yeah? He offered her a smile before taking out his quill for notes. There was already something on his desk. Eggs? Eggs that he was not allowed to open. Olly was not really the best at self control and leaving things alone that he was curious about. He stared at the eggs but did not make a move to open them...yet. He hoped class would start soon. Next to arrive was Mr. Borzekowski-Thomas. The Slytherin got a smile from the invisible professor, and his eyes followed him as he picked up a sugar cookie and took his seat. Quote:

Easter eggs eh?
The grey eyed boy gently poked at them but didn't open them and instead folded his hands and waited for class to start. And here was another student poking at the eggs! Gaston liked to see curiosity in his students, but he hoped Mr. Kennedy wouldn't poke the eggs hard enough to make them open. Then that would spoil the surprise! Quote:

It was getting harder and harder not to greet the arriving students! He watched the Ravenclaw prefect fiddling with one of her eggs, just as several other students had done. He was tempted to not tell them what the eggs were for and just examine them on their own. Watching their reactions was more fun than the activity he had planned! Quote:

She nudged him gently, and winked. "Hey, Cap! I wonder what today's lesson will be." She gave one of the big eggs a gentle poke. This looked very interesting. Gaston smiled as Miss Darcy poked at one of the eggs, but his expression turned confused as he overheard what she said to Mr. Kennedy. Why was she calling him Cap? Had he missed something? Oh well, never mind... now wasn't the time to think about it. Quote:

Speaking of incidents, the brunette spotted Etta and made her way over to the Hufflepuff. She wouldn't mind, surely. "Think these eggs are chocolate?" She hoped so.
Oh and look, there was Genny. The Gryffindor received a finger wiggle in greeting. They were friends now, you know. Gaston beamed at Miss Botros as she very nearly guessed the purpose of the eggs. The eggs themselves weren't chocolate, but she was on the right track! Excellent guess, Miss Botros, he thought. All would be revealed soon enough.. Quote:

He enjoyed his studies and expected nothing short of excellent marks from himself, in all classes, but the fact that charms class was cutting into his book-reading JUST as he'd gotten to such a good part... well, Sam was rather annoyed. He stuck his finger in his book and closed the pages on it.
Refreshments were noted, but punch and sugar cookies didn't sound very appealing to him right now. Too... sugary. Now, Genny was sitting with.... a first-year? Eyebrow-raise at that. He spotted Junia in the middle section and did briefly attempt a smile, but only because it was Junia. Etta was with her. Really, he just wanted to sit down and get to reading a bit more before their professor showed up, but spots by his friends were taken.
That is, until he saw Katherine sitting up in the front row, two open seats to her right. There, he'd sit there. Perfect. He made his way to the front, but just as he was steps away from the chair next to the Ravenclaw, some Slytherin boy decided that that was going to be his seat. Sam stopped short and stared at the boy. "Really." He deadpanned. Ugh, WHATEVER.
Sam pulled out the chair next to this Slytherin boy and promptly took a seat so that he could return to his book. Moments later, Mr. Chevalier walked in with his nose in a book. Gaston caught sight of the title, and he couldn't help but smile. Mr. Chevalier had excellent taste in literature! He'd have to remember to tell him... sometime when he wasn't invisible, of course! Constant vigilance. Seven years at Hogwarts tended to make a girl wary. Janelle thought it best to wait for the professor to appear before partaking in the goodies. With a sigh, she headed toward the nearest empty desk and sat down. Noticing an Easter basket on her desk, she smiled. Memories. Good times. What would they be doing with these? Janelle turned her attention to preparing for class. She took her textbook, quill and parchment out and arranged them on her desk. She was ready for class to begin........and to get her cookies. Miss Guidry was the next to arrive. Gaston smiled at the Ravenclaw girl, but he was a little surprised that she hadn't taken any of the snacks. Hmm... maybe she wasn't hungry right now? Or maybe she was waiting for his permission? Quote:

He was somewhat glad to see that the professor wasn't present, though he did find it odd considering the current restrictions. But he thought this way he could slip in unnoticed without the professor making a big deal of his return to class. Normally he didn't mind having a lot of attention, but he could do without it right now.
Not even noticing that there were refreshments offered today, Henry took the first seat he came to without really seeing who was around him. A Easter basket though. That was interesting. He took to distractedly poking the eggs inside the one on his desk as he waited for class to begin. Gaston's heart skipped a beat as Mr. Whittebrook walked in. He hadn't expected to see him in lessons for a while yet, but he was very glad he was here! The professor was thankful for the disillusionment charm that made him invisible just now, as he din't want his students (and especially Mr. Whittebrook) to see his expression. He smiled, but his eyes were sad as a sudden pang of guilt threatened to overwhelm him. He should've guessed why Henry and the others went missing. He should've gone in after them... He sighed, pressing a hand to his eyes as he silently berated himself, Get it together, Gaston! He couldn't let his students see him like this! Quote:

Not even a moment later, Gaston noticed Miss Kettleburn sitting beside Mr. Whittebrook. The girl seemed in much better spirits today, which the professor was very happy to see, but he couldn't help but feel he'd let the girl down. She'd needed his help, but he failed to reunite her with her friend. He'd heard about her recent visit to the hospital wing, and that made him feel even worse. If only he'd connected the dots, she might've been spared that ordeal! He mentally shook himself. No, he couldn't allow himself to think like that now! BuuuUUUUUuuut, this was CHARMS. And Abey didn't like to miss Charms because it was usually all about actual magic, which he didn't have a problem with. So today, he arrived with everyone else, ready to greet the professor but stalling when it turned out there was no professor there at all. Huh.
But there WAS food and drink, which Abey absolutely (ABE-solutely) helped himself to before taking a seat. And then, he waited. Gaston glanced at his watch. It was almost time for class to start. He was about to close the door when Mr. Botros came in. Oh good, the boy was just in time! He smiled, stifling a laugh as the little Gryffindor made a beeline for the refreshments. He knew giving out free food was a good idea!
As soon as Mr. Botros had taken his seat, Gaston pointed his wand at the door; it closed gently and locked itself. With another quick wave of his wand, he removed the disillusionment charm he'd placed on himself and turned to face the class. "Good morning, everyone," he greeted them all. "So sorry for the lack of personal greetings today!" He hadn't meant to be rude; it was just part of the lesson! Hopefully they'd understand...
He gave the class a moment or two to settle in and pay attention before he continued, "As you may have already guessed, today we'll be covering the disillusionment charm. So let's get started..." No time like the present, right? "Before we get into the spell itself, who can tell me something about disillusionment charms? It could be a definition, a fact, something you think is an advantage or disadvantage of using the spell... anything. The more outside-the-box, the better!" Gaston liked to see what his students already knew about the subject at the start of the lesson; he found it was a good jumping-off point. OOC: CLASS HAS STARTED! Feel free to jump in any time, just pretend your charrie has been here all along. Late arrivals will lose house points. We'll be moving on again in ABOUT 24 HOURS.
