It seemed most people had done their rounds of the vineyard. He hoped this would work on the piping, or else they WOULD have to replace the entire thing. It was really...quite sad, honestly. But it was about time to move on, now! Paul clapped his hands a few times, decided that was a stupid way to get everyone’s attention. So with another sonorous at his throat, Paul cleared his throat.

“Everyone! Yes yes, thank you! You have all done wonderfully! I should have warned you, but, the vines do slap if you try to PICK the grapes!” he chuckled. He had seen a few of them get reprimanded. He thought it was funny… “Don’t worry! Perhaps we will get some fresh grapes before the day is done! But for now, we’re moving on so I can show you a VERY special plant I have! Follow me, if you will!” and he began to walk towards the back of the vineyard, the opposite side from his estate. There were no gates or fences surrounding the Willingston-Myers vineyard. Just a thick collection of vines...that Paul was headed right for.

“Now, I need a volunteer or two?” he smirked a bit. “Because those vines there...those thick ones that line the outside of my vineyard? They are how my husband and I keep pests OUT without using toxic pesticides.” He grinned. “This...is a cross between a grape vine and a swallowwort vine...magical. Black Swallowworts are...well, if a small animal were to eat of it, it’s toxic to them. And these guys...well...they kill bugs. They kill bugs that would otherwise be tormenting my grapes,” he cleared his throat. He felt some students might not like this, and he would address that in a moment. He still needed a few volunteers! “The vines will reach right out and...grip the life of any harmful bugs.”

“Does anyone have any thoughts on pesticides? Is this crossbreed better or worse than using one of those? Is this plant ethical? I want thoughts!” He also predicted questions about his tendency to employ SLAPPING vines in his estate. Heh. He just thought they were cool, honestly.
