I believe he was one of the first, if not the first to use the technique, as we now know it. Although there was some evidence of collage type techniques being used pre-Picasso, he was one of the artists who made it famous." Ok Janelle, time to shut up. She would just hold on to the rest of her thoughts. That was that she liked art and any excuse for a person to express themselves in a positive manner.
When the rest of the class had finished giving their answers, it was time to start on the activity. They had to get art supplies. So they were going to do something artistic today. Janelle was all for it. Oooh and they were using watercolors. She was liking this more and more.
Janelle joined the line and when she got to the supply table, she began to stock up. She took two pieces of paper, just in case. Next she got the watercolor paint and two brushes. Not sure what they would actually be doing, she got a thin brush and a broader one. Janelle decided to take a little of each type of salt as well. She wanted to be ready for anything. Finally, she got a plastic cup and some water. With all of her supplies in hand, or in hand and in pocket, she went back to her seat. Bring on the activity. “Quite right you are, Ms Guidry! The term ‘Collage’ was actually first used by Picasso himself and Georges Braque at the start of the twentieth century when Modern Art was only then becoming popular.’’ SPOILER!!: Henry! <3 Quote:

Wait... what? Henry gaped at the painting a bit, hearing the professor's words, before looking to her again. Was she serious or was she joking? He couldn't quite tell. "So.. this woman actually looked like this when he painted her? Her tears actually caused her face to be discolored and damaged?" He had the vague notion that it was somehow symbolic, not actually reality. Like... could tears actually do that? He subconsciously touched a cheek as he mulled this thought over.
From Henry’s reaction, she could tell he was being skeptical about her words. “It’s very much the truth, Mr Whittebrook. But her tears did not really burn her face. That was Mr Picasso’s interpretation of what the model’s tears did to her.’’ SPOILER!!: Cutieee! <3 Quote:

He raised his hand and waited to be called upon. "Movies! I like movies because they can be exciting! Or happy! Or... Scary." Yup. Some movies he'd watched had given him nightmares. Not very nice of them. But he loved movies. And he definitely considered it an art form. He was good at movies! Worse at painting and famous painters...
Carlton glanced over at Rooney and beamed. He must be pleased. Carlton wasn't very pleased. Painting was fun! If people could guess what it was he was painting. Unfortunately that didn't always happen.
He got up and walked with Liv to the supplies. There was so much to choose from!! Carlton stood watching it all and finally got exactly the stuff that Liv did. That was always a safe bet. He waddled back to his seat, balancing the water and the other supplies carefully. When he reached his seat he neatly placed all the supplies on his desk.
Bring it, professor S.
Another movie lover! Excellent! “That’s wonderful, Mr Lewis. I would advise you to check out the movies I have left in the Fun Room. I’m always adding more DVDs.’’ Kay already knew that Carlton adore the Fun room. She had seem him multiple times in there. SPOILER!!: Jonas! Quote:

Jonas raised his hand "Professor? What were we supposed to do again?"
Had Jonas gotten all his supplies? For good measure, Kay checked over the materials he had picked up. Yes, he had gotten it all. “I’ll be giving those instructions shortly, Mr Emery.’’ SPOILER!!: Char with a mention of Dalton and Henry! <3 Quote:

Colour her intrigued!
Lulz. Colour.
She'd picked a few brushes. It was good to have a choice.
Distractions WERE good. And aside from the art making, Dalton was a good one for Charlotte. "What are you going to draw?" Or... you know, paint.
Char hadn't yet begun, instead she set her workspace up with the paper, arranged the paints and water, and the brushes, and tried not to wonder what Henry's two (so far?) candygrams said.
Eager beaver, are you, Charlotte? Kay liked this very much. “All will be revealed soon, Ms Kettleburn,’’ was her mysterious reply and that twinkle in her eye. She lowered her voice. “Are you two going to be alright?’’ She meant Dalton as well as the reception of the candygrams seemed to have sparked something with the two. And yes, Kay had also noticed that they both had been looking towards Henry.
* * * * * * *
Now that everyone had collected their supplies, Kay addressed them again. “Today you’ll all be demonstrating your artistic talent in the form of painting.’’ She didn’t want to hear that some of them weren’t good enough. She was not going to judge anyone and if she found it happening in the class among the students today, she would not tolerate it. “For the remainder of the class, you will make a painting of your choice. Now, many of you may be wondering what the salt is for. Well, we won’t be making ordinary paintings today. We’ll be making what are known as Watercolour and Salt paintings. It’s really simple. All you need to do is to sprinkle the salt on the wet paint as you go along. It would be useless to use the salt after the paint’s dried.’’ Kay winked. “So for example. Let’s say I’m going to be painting a crup. If I decided to start painting its face, I would sprinkle a bit of salt at intervals while painting it.” Was she explaining this clearly enough? “When you have completed your painting and salting, just let everything dry. Afterwards, you will use your fingers to scrape away the excess salt.’’ Kay looked at her watch. “You have the remaining of the lesson to get this done. You may begin, everyone.’’ OOC: Haaaaaai! This activity will run for forty eight hours (until Saturday 11th February, 11:OO PM EST). There are no specific amount of posts required and interaction among your charries is encouraged. Kay will be there admiring the artwork But if you need help, please title the header of your post with 'Professor' or PM/VM/MSN me. Pssst. I used this for help xD |
