Ambrose was born in England, his parents having migrated from China 6 years before he was born. His father is a chef, who opened a number of Chinese and Japanese restaurants around the UK.
Accidental magic started happening when he was only 4 years old. While his parents were scared by it, and scared of what would happen if anyone else found out about it, they still loved their son a lot and did their best to protect him. They are however grateful that his twin sister, Laurel, is 'normal'.
Laurel herself always was amazed by her brothers magic, and while she always wished that she could also do it she always knew that she couldn't do magic. She went to a muggle school, unlike Ambrose who was home schooled by their mother. Because of how close they were she did make sure that he was able to spend time with her and her friends, though she'd be super careful to make sure nothing would happen. Even though she's only 11 minutes older, she's very protective of her brother.
His Hogwarts letter and their impending separation has definitely caused a rift in their relationship though…
