Aww, look at the others helping each other. It was cute to the instructor. Perhaps today wasn't the day for the intense part of the activity planned.. Hah. As if that would stop him. Today was a day of endless possibilities. Quote:

She mounted, gripped the broom and lifted off without giving it much thought, but giving it a massive kick. Not out of experience, rather, out of Gryffindorness.
That was what it had always been, she'd just never known it until the hat had told her so. "Professor!?" Half question, half exclamation as the thought came to her, "I've seen professional quidditch players, like Kinsley and Odessa and Branxton and Potter and Summers and Montmorency," She could go on, but she had a point to make and very little breath left to do it after all those names, "Just mount their broom like MID stride!" She let go of the broom's handle with one hand, wobbling a bit as she gesticulated for effect, unintentionally practicing this one hand business as the professor had asked, "Like they're walking or running and then POOF! They're ON their broom and zooming!" She didn't quite zoom in demonstration there, but it was like the broom knew she want to and it sort of gave an excited wiggle and quiver beneath her. "How long does it take to learn how to do THAT?" Yeah! Could they do THAT? She thought probably Henry might be the only one who could, maybe also Vince and Noah, but they also maybe wouldn't have mastered it yet either? Who knew!? It looked SUPER cool and impressive though. Also? There was something kind of ATTRACTIVE about boys doing it. That was probably why all the names she'd mentioned were of the male player variety.
Humm. That was a point, she probably should start paying more attention to the lady players, since she was supposed to be a feminist and all that. My, my was this one eager. He smiled at that, "Not very long in fact Miss Kettleburn. After enough flights it'll just come naturally as it did for the Professional players." So for everyone it was going to be different. Perhaps by the end of the lesson there would be a few already at it.
Now it was time however to move on as more than enough time had passed to become accustomed to the broom. Taking his whistle, Justin blew sharply, it wasn't that loud enough to pierce ears but enough to get everyone's attention. "Great work all. You're all are progressing nicely. Now don't fret if some of you still haven't been able to float off the ground, you have plenty of time to still give it a go." It was important to maintain the concentration, "Keep on with the mantra, Feel the broom and it's abilities. Be the broom in control and guide your inner feelings to success and then lift!" He was willing to continue coaching them through it.. but first.
"As for the rest of you flyers in the air, your next task awaits." With that the Groundskeeper kicked open the Quidditch trunk, revealing many miniature Quaffle balls springing out onto the ground. "You have a choice between the use of a beaters bat or not as you are to score the bouncing Quaffles into the hoops. So you may use the bat to help take a swing at the Quaffle into the hoops or test your arm strength with your throwing skills. Beware though, the Quaffles been charmed to rebound back off the hoops once they've made contact. See if you can score at least five in." Something to keep an eye out for. "Now whenever you're ready go on and grab a ball or bat or both and give it a shot."
-- OOC: Sorry for delay, had some unforeseen offsite issues to handle beforehand. Now for the activity you can choose to either work on your flying or get to scoring goals, either choice will work. The minimum posts required is four labelled ones. You will have two days to complete. =) |
