Default Pet Space Rock Extra Credit - Post 2

Now that Fiyero had created his pet rock, he thought it would be a good idea to introduce Gastone to his owl, Dash. The moment he entered the owlery, the feisty little elf owl dive-bombed him, which was her way of saying hello. "Hi, Dash," he said, laughing as the owl hooted and flapped her wings excitedly. "I'm glad to see you, too!"

He suddenly remembered why he was there. "Check it out, I've brought a new friend for you," he said, pulling Gastone out of his pocket. Dash stared at the rock for all of five seconds before going into a frenzy, flapping and squawking. She swooped down at Gastone, pecking him with all her might, and all Fiyero could do was stare dumbly. Wow, that was definitely not the reaction he'd expected! Was Dash jealous of Gastone?

"Dash, leave him alone!" he cried frantically. Of course, she couldn't really hurt Gastone, but somehow he doubted Professor Flamsteed would give him extra credit if he let his pet rock get attacked by an owl. Dash bit his finger hard as he pulled Gastone out of her reach. "Ow! What was that for?!" Dash hooted apologetically, but Fiyero was still angry at her. "I think somebody needs a time-out," he said, shooting Dash a sideways glance as he scooped up his pet rock. "Come on, Gastone!"
