It was partially the runes bit that she was impressed with. But actually, she was more impressed with the answer of simply looking first. Far too often, analytical thought and careful scrutiny were neglected. Especially when it came to DADA, Tiara found that students failed to appreciate their first and best line of defense: the mind. Oh, she was a true Ravenclaw.

Sky frowned as she finished, thinking it made better sense in Sky's head then when she spoke it..
Yes! This was a joint class with Arithmancy, after all. It was back to that 'using your brain' thing again, trying to assimilate the two disciplines. Well done to this one.

Then you could start using Runes or revelation spells to see what will or will not work."
Another fantastic answer. Tiara doubted that a simple shield charm would be good enough for any serious curses outside of the classroom, but she liked the way that Juno was thinking.

Really, Roderik had done a good job of introducing her portion with background information. She sent a thank you nod in his direction. "I wholeheartedly agree, professor... except for with one thing. Casting a spell to see if an object is cursed is exactly what you should do. But certainly not in the ways that were mentioned!" Which obviously was what Hirsch was referring to.

"There is a spell that you can perform which will reveal a set of numbers detailing various aspects of a curse. It is important to note that the object of this spell is not, in our case, the box, but rather the curse itself. You will see why that is important shortly." There was probably some confusion out there right now but.. good things came to those who waited and took notes. Tiara stepped towards the box and performed a nonverbal incantation, a complicated wrist motion involved as well. A series of golden numbers, shimmering and wavering, appeared above the box and floated in midair.
28 . 080 . 527 . 4 . 9
"The numbers you see above you hold the key to unlocking a safe method for breaking the curse on this box. Before I explain how to use those numbers, I would like for you to practice the spell." Because they had had enough of listening for awhile, yes? "I am going to teach you a slight variation on the spell - arithmos revelio scindo. Without the 'scindo' on the end," and she very carefully pronounced it SIN-doh, "you would have one big, long string of numbers mushed together. Not nice." And much harder to work with. She far preferred this way.

"Now the wand movement is a bit complex. Begin by pointing at the object," she demonstrated. "Then as you begin to speak, move your wand in a clockwise spiral flowing upwards. By the time you finish, your wand will probably be around shoulder or head level, but it does not particularly matter. Just do what feels natural."

"It takes some practice to get the timing down correctly, so I would ask each of you to make several attempts. Hopefully you will get the same numbers to appear above the box and we will end up with many variations all on top of each other!" Oh, and one more thing. "Try moving a bit closer if you are in the back and are not getting it to work. Good luck!"

OOC: It's okay for your charrie to struggle! It's a hard spell. I won't be moving on until tomorrow, so have fun! Tiara is around if you need her!
