And just plain fun, which helped a great deal.
Holding back a laugh at the man's pose - for there was no other word for it - she elected to merely stand as usual and wait for the inevitable rush of students. "Oh, good. I'd say we're ready to get this show on the road." They just needed the students, that's all. And, sorry, what was that? She'd studied curse breaking? Hirsch shot her a look of surprise because, frankly, the man didn't expect it. Arithmancy was always a subject that relied heavily on books and therefore, wasn't something he was too interested in but this? "I didn't know you liked this topic that much."
And it was probably a good thing he didn't notice the laughter that Tiara was holding back. Just saying. Text Cut: Echo Quote:

Making her way to an open desk she sat down and started to pick at her robes.
Before he could say anything else, the first of the students had started to arrive, making Hirsch turn his entire attention towards the door instead. "Hello, Miss Duchannes." He gave her a longer look than necessary, taking in the way she was picking at her robes and looking, well, off. Should he ask? Text Cut: Azura Quote:

Whatever it was. She seemed more like her old self. "Hello Professor Tanner, Professor Hirsch! " The teen called as she made her way into the classroom. "How are you? " She asked as she settled into her desk.
.............. Azura?
Azura looking happy?
The man was confused. He gave her a look of pleasant surprise as he watched her, well, looking more like her first year self than anything else. But she had approached him not too long ago looking upset and he remembered seeing her sad looks in his Gytrash lesson. So this? This was new. "Hello, Azura. I'm very good, thank you. Excited, you could say. I take it you're well as well?" Because if she wasn't, she wouldn't look like she'd just won a prestigious prize. Just saying. Text Cut: Esme Quote:

Not like she was arrogant or anything; she knew very well what the limits of her abilities were and she was perfectly fine with it. Hopefully this lesson would be fun. "Hello, Professors," she said with a small smile. She waved at both Echo and Azura and took a seat. She was ready to go.
Before he could say anything else, he was distracted by the presence of someone else entering the classroom. "Hello, Miss Darcy," he said, giving her a smile and a nod of his head. If Miss Darcy was here already, that meant...... Text Cut: Juno Quote:

She smiled and waved at Echo and Azura before heading over to a seat near her sister. Hopefully they could help each other.
............ yep, sure enough, her twin came soon afterwards.
The man was very sure that the two twins couldn't be separated no matter how much anyone tried so seeing them entering the classroom one after the other wasn't surprising at all. "Hello, Miss Darcy!" Smiles for you, too. Text Cut: Jaemin Quote:

Defense Against The Dark Arts offered him things that were solid and concrete. Its presence meant that maybe there was stuff in Arithmancy that was concrete, and would be workable for him.
So the small white-blond haired today boy hurried into the class room, eyes first catching the Arithmancy professor... and then Hirsch. He still found it extremely hard to look at Hirsch and not feel embarrassed, but... he was recovering, slowly. It had been months, after all... months. Sigh.
The boy gave both professors a bright smile and a wave before getting himself a desk right up in the front and center. Because 4'5" was still too short to see from further back, thank you very much.
What in the name of?!
Hirsch stared. Full on stared at the arrival of Jaemin, who was donning a new hairstyle, so to speak. It wasn't like the man to care much about hairstyles but this wasn't something that could go unnoticed. Blonde?! The boy wasn't going through a phase, was he? "Nice hair, Jaemin." What? It was. It was just going to take some getting used to. Text Cut: Fiyero Quote:

He walked into the Arithmancy classroom, giving both of the professors a friendly wave. "Hello, Professor Hirsch and Professor Tanner," he greeted them with a small smile. He took a seat toward the middle of the room, close enough to see what was going on but not close enough to look like a teacher's pet. After arranging his supplies, he looked attentively back at the professors, awaiting the start of class. Bring it on, curse breaking!
This was another enthusiastic one. At least, about his subject. Yes, the man remembered how enthusiastic he'd been at the possibility of facing something dangerous. It brought a smile to his face, actually. "Hello, Mr Jones." Was he just as enthusiastic about curse breaking? Hm? Text Cut: Haddie Quote:

Then turned to Professor Tanner and gave her a wave. "Hi, Professor." With that she selected a seat at random and made her way to it, giving waves to Jaemin, Echo, Azura, and...er...which one was Esme? She couldn't tell really so both twins got a wave.
And with that, the red headed teen spun into her seat and started pulling out her quill and ink and Arithmancy parchment that was more filled with ink doodles than math. She was in a gret mood today for whatever reason. Not gonna question it.
Before he could say anything else, however, the sound of someone casting a spell - a spell linked with his area of expertise, no doubt - caught him off guard and he turned his head sharply to look at........
................ Cue a wide, dimpled smile. "Nice try, Haddie," he said, reassuringly, "Maybe try and focus on a more positive memory? A stronger memory." And that was all he was going to say because he didn't want Tiara to feel as though he was stealing the limelight here.
Regardless, Haddie received a bow of his head in return. Text Cut: Daxton Quote:

Hirsch.
Daxton was dubious about this joint lesson. Arithmancy usually meant no spellwork, whereas Defence Against the Dark Arts more often than not focused solely on magic. The former subject was undoubtedly going to be ruined by the presence of the latter, despite the fact that, in theory, he liked both.
Barefoot and without his outer robes, as he invariably was, Daxton entered the Arithmancy classroom. A moment's glance told him that Hirsch was already here, with Tanner, a revelation that earned nothing less than the sourest, most suspicious glare that Daxton could muster, right in the direction of the Defence Against the Dark Arts professor. Tanner escaped any such treatment. Without a word, predictably enough, Daxton took the seat nearest the door for quick and easy access to the exit, and waited...
... and tried not to think about how it was seeming more and more likely that he might soon have to approach Hirsch in the pursuit of information.
................. Well this should've been expected.
Just as quickly as his expression had lifted at the attempt at the Patronus Charm, they immediately fell at the sight of the look he was being given by the next student to enter the room. The man said nothing, instead opting to raise his eyebrows at the sour look before turning away and catching Tiara's eye. He shot a half-smile in her direction. It was normal behaviour, he didn't need to start anything or tell the Ravenclaw off. If the boy was going to be non-disruptive, then he had no complaints. Text Cut: Rula Quote:

Basically, February was the best month of the year. So Rula was in quite a good mood when she entered the Arithmancy and DADA lesson.
It being a lesson with Handsome Hirsch might have also helped her good mood too. "Hi, Professors!" She greeted them with a smile. The boxes got a brief glance before she went and slipped into a random empty seat.
Ah, here was another student who looked pretty happy. They were fairly easier to work with so this was a relief, so to say. "Hello, Miss Botros!" he said, returning the smile with one of his own. Text Cut: Kaycee Quote:

Were they ready? She was ready.
She took her seat and waited for the class to begin.
And another excited student? Was curse-breaking a really popular topic amongst Hogwarts students? Or did they just like to live life dangerously? Whatever the reason, the man had no complaints about this. In fact, he actually liked teaching these kind of students. "Hello, Prefect Richards." She, too, got a smile from the Defence Professor. She’d leave that for everyone else. Besides, if any class should be free of that, it should be DADA, AND Arithmancy. She figured neither subject would be very apt to devolve into sappiness, and that was what had gotten her to walk up to the Arithmancy classroom. Besides, cursebreaking seemed more interesting than the confusing analysis and everything else that Arithmancy usually entailed.
Plus, even if it didn’t, she could just stick with Professor Hirsch and hope that he’d be more logical. Or something along those lines. Maybe they could learn more defense stuff. It was those thoughts that were in her mind as she’d entered the classroom. “Hello Professor Hirsch. Professor Tanner,” she said, giving them both a nod as she made her way to a seat. So far there didn’t seem to be many people there yet who entirely annoyed her, which meant no one she was trying to avoid. It was promising, to say the least.
If the man knew what Brooklyn's thoughts about the month were, he'd have been quite happy with them, maybe even proud. But as it was, he smiled at the young Slytherin as she entered before saying, "Hello, Brooklyn," he said, giving her a nod of his head as well. Text Cut: Liv Quote:

COMPELLED, I tell you!
Getting her princess on, smol blonde sashayed into the classroom, looking around at once for Prince Erik. EEEEEP. AND THE RUMORS WERE TRUE! There he was....looking so casually cool and handsome. Her mum had told her to use adjectives like "handsome" instead of "hot" because "hot" wasn't as substantial, or something. Apparently it was more mature to be "handsome", so......
AH! SONG [Ameh]! Hai, tea buddy!
Taking a seat next to the boy with the white blonde hair, Olivia BEAMED. "We match today. You don't mind if I sit with you, do you?"....because she was probably going to, anyway. Just so he understood his situation. F r i e n d s i e s!
ALSO. #Dramatics! "HAI, professors. You both look well! Especially you, Prince Erik." Cue some pretty eyelash batting. You know, since she'd thought to wear eye makeup today and her lashes felt really silky and long. It was fun to flutter them when they were mascara'd.
............. Prince Eric?! Was he meant to know who that was?
Hirsch simply blinked for a moment or two at the entrance and the greeting. He looked well? Well, he certainly hoped so. You couldn't duel or do any defensive magic while being deathly sick. So, that comment was confusing. And what was even more confusing was the eyelash batting. Was that to him? A professor?
A moment or two later, his face broke into a smile. Yeah, smile and go for the polite option. Good choice, Roderik. "Thank you, Miss Phillips. I'm very flattered that you think so." He pushed his glasses further up his nose and just smiled. Yeah. Text Cut: Char Quote:

There was something about unlabeled and mysterious boxes and trunks and crates and anything really, which her Gryffindor self just couldn't resist. Curiously, she crept closer and eyeballed it, her initial excitement for a curse-breaking class was completely forgotten because WHAT WAS IN THE BOOOOX!!!!???!
A small smirk spread across the man's face as he watched Miss Kettleburn approach the box. Tiara was right: she shouldn't get much closer if she wanted to stay in the class and not in the hospital wing, but the curiosity was interesting to see. Almost amusing. This could go one of two ways, Charlotte. Text Cut: Bec Quote:

Getting lost at least 4 times , probably more but she was too stubborn to tell the real number , the Gryffindor found a classroom door open and she peeked inside. A woman was standing near the fire. Someone she had seen while eating at the Great Hall but had never spoken too. She knew she was in the right place though because she soon saw Professor Hirsch and she beamed at him. “Hi professor Hirsch!” she waved at him and once again wondered how anyone could look so cool just standing there. She had to try it sometimes. “Hi Professor” …something…. She did not know her name. “I’m Rebecca Meadows, but everyone calls me Bec so I guess you can choose. No wait, Professors usually call me Miss Meadows which I guess is a rule here but anyways, I’m a first year and I don’t take your class so I’m sorry if I don’t get any of it” Clearing her throat because she knew she was rambling, the Gryffindor pretended to be cool like Hirsch and crossed her own feet at her ankles. Which didn’t go well because a second later she flailed her arms to keep steady. “I’mma sit down now, yes…”
And without another word , the not cool Gryffindor found a seat to sit next to Fiyero without asking him if it was okay. Cause she was cool like that. not
Ah, Miss Meadows. Hirsch watched the exchange between her and Tiara, only just realising that some of the students in here were probably not familiar with the works of Arithmancy. Everyone had to take his class whether they liked it or not. Arithmancy, however....... "Hello, Miss Meadows." Smile. Text Cut: Niomi Quote:

WHAT WAS INSIDE?!
Niomi was extra suspicious now. She was ready to start class this second.
There were a lot of suspicious students, weren't there? Good, good. It made the man proud to be seeing them approaching the box with caution. Constant vigilance, remember? That was important in Defence and if they were already harnessing this idea now, they were going to be set for the future. "Hello, Miss Kelly," he said, giving her a nod of his head and a smile. If she failed the days activities it could only be blamed on one thing. Numbers and the simple fact that she couldn't get things right when it came to them.
Pushing her long brunette hair back behind her ears Hadleigh entered the room. "Hello Professors," she greeted with a light smile her eyes falling upon both Professors at the front of the room. Another quick glance around had the girl quickly selecting an empty seat somewhere nearer to the center of the room.
Ah, Hadleigh. Whether she knew it or not, the man had high expectations of her and was therefore glad to see her coming to the lesson. No, he didn't know about her Arithmancy grade, but as far as he was concerned, she would do well. "Hello, Miss Lynch." Smile. Text Cut: Tenacius Quote:

By the time he was there though there's quite a number of students already present. Seems like he's not the only excited one for this lesson "'Elo Professor Tanner, Professor Hirsch!" the Curly Top greeted them brightly. He plopped himself next to Haddie, gave her his usual cheesy grin and propped his feet under the chair in front of him. This is gonna be an interesting class to say the least.
The sight of the next student to enter the classroom made the man smile more. Why? Enthusiasm. Anyone who was enthusiastic for a class was bound to pay attention and that was all he could ask for, really. Besides, it was enjoyable to teach students who wanted to learn. "Hello, Mr Salander," he said, shooting him as smile as well. Text Cut: Zeke Quote:

Taking a seat, Zeke took out his things and waited for the lesson to begin, his eyes occasionally peaking toward the box.
And there he came. Zeke Browne. Someone who was doing spectacularly, especially in his extra Defence lessons. And someone who the Defence professor was excited to see duelling. After all, the boy did win the tournament twice for his age group. Only time would tell if he could do the same again. "Hello, Zeke," he said, smiling widely at the young Gryffindor and giving him a nod of his head. Text Cut: Maddie Quote:

The seat she took was one at the back and after settling into it, she simply eyed the boxes, one on a stool and the other on the desk. She didn't see Hirsch and Tanner exchanging gifts so something more interesting must be inside each. She was hoping so, anyway.
Time was ticking............
............ And just as Hirsch was about to close the door, another student trickled in. Lucky for her, eh? "Hello, Miss Cooper," he said, smiling back at her and giving her a nod of her head/
Was it time?
Hirsch glanced down at his watch, waiting a few seconds before flicking his wand and letting the door shut with a sharp SNAP! There. They could start now.
Turning towards the class, the Defence Professor looked around at them all, a smile in place. "Hello, and welcome to your joint Arithmancy and Defence Against the Dark Arts lesson." And here he was, walking around amongst the desks. "The two subjects may seem very different: Arithmancy requires more of a theoretical approach while Defence has a more practical approach." Correct him if he was wrong, Tiara. "But today, Professor Tanner and I have combined the two together to teach you all about......"
Dramatic pausing, anyone? "................ curse-breaking."
That was a good way of introducing the topic, wasn't it? "Now. Let's paint a scene: say you're a curse breaker and you're looking for treasure and you come across that box up there. Your profession tells you that you shouldn't trust the unknown. I mean, why would you? You don't know what's inside the box. You don't know what's on the outside of the box either. Most curses are hidden, remember. Lurking, even." Constant vigilance, anyone? "So how would you go about trying to get it to open? How would you try and get the treasure inside?" OOC: EEEEEE! Are you guys excited? I AM!
Okay so simple question up there. Answer as creatively as you want ^^ Class will resume tomorrow! And please note that this class has begun. Please don't post your charrie arriving late unless you want to face the consequences.
