“I just don’t get it,” Zhenya said. “Look at all these… symbols. How am I supposed to know what it all means? It’s like learning a new language.”
Gary chuckled.
“What?” she snapped, throwing her quill down on the desk.
“Learning a new language? Zhenya you already know a different language. WITH a different alphabet. What’s so difficult about this one?”
She frowned at him. “Well that’s different, Russian was the first language I learned. This is learning a new alphabet at 14! It’s impossible. I just can’t do it.”
“Well you’re going to have to learn, then, aren’t you?”
