She imagined that he had a good adoptive family.......at least she hoped that was the case. Then Janelle's curiosity got the best of her. She had a question that she had to ask. "Do you have any brothers and sisters?" Next to her parents, her siblings were the most important people in her life. She wondered if Zeke had any other members of his family.

Zeke seemed sympathetic as Janelle talked about her bullying experience. She appreciated that. It made the conversation that much easier. "Yeah, kids can be mean sometimes. You know what though? I think that I'm a better person because of that experience. I learned a lot about myself. I'm stronger than I thought I was."

It was time to move on to the next question. When Zeke began his impersonation of a professor, Janelle began to laugh. Of course she knew who he was. "You do a pretty good impression of Professor Flamsteed. The Sweet Solstice gave it away. I think your performance was Stellar!"

Thinking for a moment, Janelle had an idea. "OK, it's my turn now. You get to guess who I am." Janelle put on her perkiest, most cheerful face and gave it a go. "Hello class. I think you all look totes adorbs today. First I'm going to read your proud moments from the Snap Cup." Pretending to reach into her imaginary cup, Janelle looked at her hand and began to read the imaginary note. Oh, I got my own proud moment. I'm proud that I look awesome in pink today. Snaps for me!" Waving her hand dramatically, Janelle snapped her fingers several times and gave Zeke an enormous smile. How could he not guess this one correctly?

It was hard to think how long it had been since she passed, and though a lot of things were easier for him now, it still wasn't something he liked to think about. Siblings though... Zeke smiled. "I do now, I have two sisters, they go to Beauxbatons." Not his own, but they were nothing less than family to him regardless.

Funny though, just looking at Janelle, he wouldn't have been able to say that she was a victim to bullying. She was strong, or at least, she didn't come across as weak. She was obviously smart, and nice and genuine... all good things. "That's good... it's good that something good came of something bad." Perhaps the simplest way of looking at it. People that got bullied usually turned out in one of two ways. They would either hurt others to prevent themselves from getting hurt... or they'd turn out like Janelle, with a good head on their shoulder. This was a win for her.

Once he was done with his short stint of 'playing' Flamsteed, Zeke couldn't help but chuckle. "Thank you, thank you," he said as he gave a small bow in her direction. And gosh. STELLAR! Of course he was. And then it was her turn.

"Go for it," he prompted, leaning against the wall so he could watch.

...

And Merlin.

The second she opened her mouth she knew who it was. The Snaps thing really wasn't necessary because, "Professor Cassie!" He knew. He knew. And he really wanted snap cup things gone from his mind now please. PLEASE?! "That was good, perhaps even too good." She could stop now. Really.

Still leaning against the wall, he pulled out the flash-card and glanced at the next question, already number two was gone from the list.

Admit a worry, or fear.

...

Did he have to?

Zeke wrinkled his nose at this one, but he supposed it could be worse, he could have been partnered with a Troll... at least Janelle was nice, even if he didn't really know her.

"I think... I'm most worried about failure," he started, coming to terms with it as he went. "I never had to succeed before, because there wasn't any hope of getting things right. But now I have to do well, it's a lot of pressure, you know?" And a part of that also came from his dislike of rejection. Failure often led to rejection in one form or another, but he didn't need to voice that. But it also led into the next question, and so he found himself continuing along the line of thought. "If I do alright, and get good grades, I still don't know what I would do with them. Maybe something with potions, or charms. Really though, I have no idea where I want to be in ten years, I'm just trying to get through today."

Clueless. He was clueless. Getting through day by day was the best he could do for now, and eventually he'd figure things out... right?

"How about you? Worries? Fears? Where do you see yourself in ten?"
