Benjamin is a free spirit.
No, seriously, he’s a free spirit, so much so he spends more time with the House ghosts and cracking jokes with Nearly-Headless Nick than interacting with his real-life classmates. Ben is exhaustingly laid-back, the kind of person that seems able to walk on air due to the lack of stress or worry pressing on his shoulders. Without a single care in the world, the boy naturally, often has a more optimistic outlook than most of his peers.

In the classroom, Ben is quiet and reserved. If there are windows, he’ll be found gazing dreamily at the landscape more than writing notes on his parchment. Still, he somehow manages to ace all his exams and complete his homework ahead of time, the main reason why professors seem uncaring and unconcerned when the boy looks absentminded or distracted. Outside of class, Benjamin spends most of his time outdoors, even in the harshest winters. He’s a fan of yoga and healthy-eating. During the summer, he enjoys stretching and meditating by the lake. He’s dared venture deep enough into the waters to see a few mermaids, and has made exploring the Forbidden Forest his next mission.

It is suspected that the boy’s happy-go-lucky attitude and energy may be the result of Felix Felicis, which it is rumored he brews in secret in one of the abandoned restrooms on the third floor. He denies the rumors though, and insists it is all the result of a relaxed lifestyle and daily yoga practices.

Benjamin’s background is a mystery. It remains unknown whether he has any siblings, cousins, or family members at all. When speaking of ‘home’, he never really mentions the other occupants of this place. Due to his California-esque accent, it is believed the boy may be of American origin. Though he’s fluent in French and understands Portuguese.

O T H E R :
Benjamin has an owl named Ginger, a cat named Zebra, and a toad named Frank. He’s amazingly skilled at climbing trees and loves photography. Despite his seemingly infinite good fortune, Ben has had a few close brushes with death or serious injury in his escapades, but it hasn’t been enough to dissuade him from pursuing any more ridiculous ideas, like trying to capture a baby giant spider to keep as pet. Alicia is a social butterfly. To her, life is just one huge party she wants to make the absolute best of before the cruel reality of adulthood sets in. Though cheery and often caught smiling even at the absolute worst of news, Alicia can hop back and forth between moods as quickly as you can say lumos. She’s focused and surprisingly serious when it comes to her studies - despite her partying ways, Alicia has a bit of an inner Hermione Granger in her. She worries tremendously about her grades and isn’t satisfied with simply receiving an Outstanding grade unless that Outstanding is the absolute best of the bunch. Soon as the last “i” is dotted and the final question on the exam answered correctly, Alicia is right back to tending to her other priorities: social activities, adventures and shopping.

Alicia is incredibly competitive not only inside the classroom but out in the field as well. She will take any sport, muggle or magical, and immediately excel at it. Being good doesn’t mean she necessarily loves practicing sports though, and she prefers to get her daily workout by running by the lake every morning before class. A moment in the fresh air is a necessity for the girl, and not even the worst possible hangover will stop her from pulling on her favourite running shoes and heading out. Ali was born in Barcelona, Spain. She is fluent in Spanish, Catalan, and English. Her father moved the family of five (she has two younger brothers, one nine and the other thirteen) to London when she was only three years old, to open up the second of what would become a long chain of robes shops scattered throughout wizarding towns in Europe. Rodrigo Castillo, Alicia’s father, came already from a wealthy family made entirely of businessmen in the broomstick-production business; he wanted to build his own empire, without having to depend on the family’s title, on a different branch - fashion. In no time, Castillo Fine Robes, often abbreviated as CFR, were every wealthy witch’s and wizard’s preferred shop for all things in fine silk fabrics.

Alicia has no pets at Hogwarts but is the proud adoptive mother of two tiny Pomeranians back home. Despite her partying ways, the girl is very clear on her goals for the future: to become an Obliviator for the Spanish Ministry of Magic. Though she could easily take a position at her family’s fashion empire, the girl prefers to prove her worth through fighting for the ministry and tackling every challenge tossed her way; Alicia has never been a fan of easiness and prefers to put in the extra effort to create something out of the ordinary.

Despite his young age, Hugo often feels more like an old man stuck in a boy’s body. He prefers reading and trying out a new recipe for the perfect angel hair pasta to a night out drinking or updating his Facebook status. Actually, he doesn’t even have a Facebook account, or any other social media for that matter. He does have a Tumblr account but rarely uses it. Hugo enjoys reading as much as he does writing, and his all-nighters usually consist of filling page after page with sloppy, rushed handwriting narrating stories of far away magical lands where dragons fly over mountains and mermaids swim in the company of dolphins. The boy has a restless imagination, and usually carries a moleskin journal around to quickly scribble down whatever idea might come to mind without warning.

Though it is true Hugo is more of an introvert than anything else, this doesn’t mean the boy has no friends or has difficulty making them. Due to his laid-back nature and ability to listen to anyone and everyone without yawning or growing impatient, people find it easy to gravitate toward him, no matter the personality, as the judgement-free nature of the boy usually provides them with a safe place to let loose. This doesn’t necessarily mean that Hugo enjoys all the company he attracts though, he’s just too nice to brush them off.

B A C K G R O U N D :
Hugo is the only son of Magdalene and Henric Holt. The lack of a sibling’s company growing up helped develop Hugo’s over-active imagination. As a child, he had no playmates, as his family usually moved around all throughout Europe, preventing the boy from forming lasting and meaningful relationships with his peers. Hugo grew up creating imaginary friends that, eventually, became the heroes and heroines of the stories he writes in his free time. Hugo does have cousins, though, a whole lot of them actually, but they live across the globe - America, Brazil, Australia, France, and Germany - so he didn’t really get a chance to see much of them growing up. And, rather annoyingly, being an only child has ensured that Hugo lives under the constant watchful and dedicated eye of his parents, something Hugo appreciates but also wishes he could get a break from, if only for a little while.

O T H E R :
Hugo loves skateboarding and riding his bicycle around town. When he’s not in school, he can be found at his favorite café, earphones playing his favorite tunes while his fingers either tap away on a keyboard or flip through the pages of his latest literary addiction. These peaceful sessions are often interrupted by the tortured souls of his classmates who come to him to cry about the lack of likes on their latest Instagram posts, at which point Hugo smiles painfully and conveniently remembers to run some important errand.
