So what if it was her? She was doing a good deed for her fellow man.

Also, sitting by Thornton was a mistake, because he apparently thought that summoning cobwebs was a genius move. Ravenclaws, amiright? "Thoooooooorny, no." She would have whapped him with her wand if he was close enough. "Leave the spiders alone. They have the advantage of higher ground and numbers for this battle."

And the box? "Are there spiders in there, sir? You seem to have... a motif."

"Yep, Janelle! I bet Professor Flamsteed has a fun activity planned too.'' Adi watched the man and his box. "Wonder what's in there,'' he mused just as Benny appeared. "Heya, Benny! I thought you might take forever to get here with your sneezes.'' The poor bestie. "You need the Antillergen Potion.'' Oh, hey, Lux! A wave for you! And AJ too!

Oho! Drama with the Professor, the box and Thornton. Hahaha! The man was such a kid indeed! Was that how Adi was going to be when he was older, too? It was needless to say the sixth year was enjoying the man's antics.

That box though.

WHAT WAS IN THE BOX?!

Apparently they had to guess. What, what, WHAT? Did Flamsteed know the amount of things that could be in there? Endless possibilities, yo! The Huffleuff was really going to give a guess that was backed by not much thought. Hehe. "Stardust, Professor.'' His hand was up, by the way. Yes, it was.

Henric hoped there wasn't anything unpleasant inside that box. Perhaps more OREO cookies?! Thinking about his favourite cookies, his stomach could not help but rumble. He raised his hands to answer,"Professor, is there more OREO cookies in that box?" he asked.

"Something delicate or precious enough to dive for." She couldn't exactly guess what it was. She couldn't see through objects.

Especially the box the professor had been mesmerized with since before Kate even stepped foot in the class. So what was in it? She had absolutely no idea. A wild guess was just about the best she could do. "A magical moon?" she suggested, knowing that with magic, anything was possible. Sure, it wasn't the REAL moon, but she could imagine a magical one being in there.

Well then.

Frowning slightly, Lux continued trying to extract the cobwebs out of her hair. She wasn't pleased that her request had been ignored because her hair was all gross and she wanted them gone.

"Yuck." Spiders were gross, but she didn't have time to dwell on that thought because another accident happened around Flammy. At least there was no point loss involved this time, but she really did have to wonder what was inside the box. Apparently it was very important. Curiously, she tried in vain to see inside before raising her hand. "Is there space rock inside?" That would be cool.

The glanced at the box when it fell, but saw nothing. And in a few moments, it was back in the air. What was IN THE BOX!? Zhenya was losing patience now that the year was almost over and exams were getting closer and closer. She didn't even want to come to class because it was getting in the way of her exam studies, but of course then she would miss the work and be in even deeper. So she was here. She closed her eyes and took some deep, calming breaths, and put her frustration into her visualised balloon and let it go. Fly away balloon. She opened her eyes, feeling calmer. Professor Flamsteed was just asking people to get to their seats, indicating the start of class.

Yes, well, that was the question wasn't it Flamsteed? What WAS in the box? Zhenya raised her hand. Obviously it was anyone's guess. "Is it a new, high-tech Telescope?" She was going to guess moon, but Kate beat her to it. But seriously, was it a moon?

GET.OFF. MERLIN'S...beard...

Absentmindedly running his finger on the side of his desk in hopes that it'd rid of the web, the young blond leaned forward a LOT in his seat, interest peaked as he stared at the box. "Is it a BUNNY, professor?" he leaned forward even further, until he was laying atop his desk for the most part.

What's in the booooooooooooooox?!

"Your sign Professor!" Why was Flamsteed so surprised??? "It said to use it as a brush," and so he did. It was that simple. Except now things weren't simple. And apparently he was causing a scene.

... oops?

SooooOOoooo about that box...

SPOILER!!: Marsha, Maggie, AJ More Flammy

Help. YES that is EXACTLY what he needed! "Yes, please!"

Except, would Marsha be able to help? Not that she couldn't... But Zander didn't even know what spell would be useful in this kind of situation and-- Oh. More help? Help from that WAIT A MINUTE. That was the girl that STOLE his badge. Why would SHE want to help!? Oh no. Did she want Zander to owe her yet ANOTHER favor? Because... Zander hadn't even heard the first one she wanted and owing people could get messy.

Not paying any attention to the lint roller thing now, he WHIPPED his head around to look at AJ. "I'm not hogging it on pur--" O_________________O

A severing charm?

But that meant.

Uh oh. They were going to take away all his hair!! NOOOOOOOOOOO! Okay yes he was planning to get a haircut eventually, but not from a third year OR a first year for that matter.

"There's got to be some other way, sir!" PLEASE.

Also sorry yeah, not going to pay any attention to this box stuff because he had bigger issues. And a lint roller still stuck in his hair.

He looked over at the two that offered to help. "Just don't make me go bald." Or have an entire patch missing. Or actually could they not do this? He could do fine with a lint roller in his hair forever. That seemed like a fine option now. Totally fine. Zander could deal.

"OF COURSE I can!"

Maggie smiiiiiiiled at the professor before turning a little to look at Zander directly. Only to stare at Professor Flamsteed again a second later when he started crying yelling about his suit...and then his box. Seriously. What was wrong with this professor? Why had they hired him? Did he have some powerful connections inside the school? Was he the Headmistress' secret lover or something? How on Earth had he gotten this position?

ANYWAY.....back to Zander.

"You should sit down." Because he was taller than her, did he know? Yes of course he did. Which was why it was even more embarrassing for him to currently be at her mercy. His life was in her hands. Or, well, the life of his HAIR was in her hands. She pulled out her wand and just looked at him. "Unless there's a spell that can turn back time and give you more braincells I don't really think there's another way." Maggie had lowered her voice to make sure Professor Flamsteed didn't hear her remark.

So...? Shall we then?

Still waiting for Zander to do what she'd told him (like, RUDE), Maggie briefly glanced back to the box Flamsteed was on about. "Pebbles?"

His fingers drummed as Maggie tried helping Zander. Oh this will be good. It would be refreshing to see Zander bald actually. There was just too much blond going on up there anyway.

But then the cobweb dance was done and everyone's attention was on the mysterious box.

"Something to do with astronomy, definitely" he answered dryly because he honestly couldn't come up with a random answer. So .. something close to it was okay, right?

The astronomer could hardly contain his amusement at each guess - although Miss Wojack's words kept coming back to haunt him, and then there was the matter of Mr. Adair's hair that was also a mild distraction - and the man rocked back and forth on his heels with each one.

Except for Miss Traulton's. That one hurt. Especially in light of her homework assignment.

"I made that sign myself and I certainly did NOT put that a lint roller is to be used as a brush," he retorted while rubbing his temples and looking at a random spot on the ground in front of the Gryffindor prefect. Somewhere...Marcus Branxton was sneezing. He was sure of it.

Well, he would be sure if he was more of a superstitious sort of bloke.

“What lies within the box shall remain a mystery, with the endless possibilities of its contents to be constantly mulled over in your minds as we proceed,” grinned the professor. “Yes yes, I know for some of you this will be maddening as you simply MUST know the answer and it is that exact curiosity that has lead the human race to look up.”

Did they see where this was going? Heh.

“As you all know from our previous discussions and your reading, exploration of space began hundreds of years ago with Greek and Roman astronomers. Astronomers like Galileo Galilei, whose contributions to observational astronomy are ...well… astronomical and continue to have a major influence on astronomy today. Galileo is often referred to as the pioneer a shift in scientific thinking and it is said that since is time, specifically, astronomers and astronauts have been making our lives better and better without many of us even realizing it.”

Leaving the yellow box adorned with a question mark where it floated in the air, the Astronomy professor strolled over to his desk and - after banishing away some cobwebs with his wand that he SWORE were not there a moment ago - retrieved three items from behind it. These items were enchanted as well, gliding through the air slowly towards the yellow box where they hovered in place.

“Now, I know this can be quite difficult for many to how or why something like the Hubble Space Telescope is important to you or why Hershel’s Map matters to you. Especially those of you who grew up in magical households with very little exposure to Muggle things, but just trust me when I say it does. It really really does.”

Stepping now towards the three floating items, he took another peek inside his yellow box and bounced in place with a HUGE smile on his face. If one were really listening in carefully, you may have heard a muffled ‘stellar’ before he turned his attention back to the class.

“I have prepared three items for your observation today,” he continued, gesturing towards them as they floated off to his right. “A computer, a television, and a Tupperware container with some raisins inside.” His personal favorite snack, by the way. Especially when put on peanut butter on top of some celery. Ants on a log! “Now, each of these items have been improved in some way thanks to the U.S. Space Program, in more ways than one in some cases. I would like you each to now,” he strolled over to the box again and took another lingering look inside. “To use your imaginations and guess what improvements might have resulted from the study and exploration of space.” Closing the lid on the yellow box again, he gave his cardboard television set a firm tap. “My apologies for not bringing in the real things,” he apologized, tapping on the computer and television specifically. “I tried to recreate them with as much accuracy as possible.”

Forgive the man for needing to do SOMETHING to pass the time in his office. Cardboard reconstruction had been quite...therapeutic. Sort of.

“You may write your ideas down on a piece of parchment and, when you are ready, please raise your hand and share just one possibility.”

Task assigned, he was going to go back to oogling over his box while they thought things over.
OOC: No need to wait for Professor Flamsteed to call on your character, just go ahead and assume that he did to have your character speak

Writing down ideas for all three on a piece of parchment IC is optional and NOT required, but there could be some bonus participation points

Class will resume approximately 24 hours from the time of this post.
