Duck, Duck...Charms? by Jenna Hensley
For the many witches and wizards who want to know more about the Muggle world, there are a lot of different things to learn about. How do aeroplanes stay up? How does electricity work? And - one of the somewhat popular and funny questions - what exactly is the function of a rubber duck?
The answer is actually pretty simple and boring - it's just a toy typically played with during a child's bathtime. That's not solely what this article is about though. I'd instead like to suggest some new possible functions of a rubber duck.
The first ties in with bathtime. I'm sure some of us like to take a book or something similar to keep us occupied and entertained while relaxing in the bathtub. However, sometimes there's a fear of dropping it in the water and ruining it. So perhaps an alternative - charm a set of rubber ducks to entertain you. They could perform your favorite scene in your favorite book, play, or WWN radio drama, or they could even perform something from your history book to help you study.
Speaking of studying, they could be charmed to help you while you're doing just that. Want to make sure no one disturbs you while you're trying to focus? Charm those rubber ducks to pester anyone that gets to close or tries to interrupt you. You can be sure to get a great, quiet studying area with them protecting you.
The possibilities are endless, really. The function of a rubber duck is limited only by your imagination. |
