It was the eve of the wedding, and Dimitri knocked at his soon-to-be brother-in-law’s bedroom door, then came in and sat down.
“Look Gary, I’m putting our friendship aside for a second. I need to be the big brother. I’m warning you… just…” he couldn’t go on, and he started to laugh. He felt like an idiot. “I know you’ll keep her safe and happy.” He really didn’t need to warn the guy.
Gary laughed, too. “Oh, scary. I’m q-q-quivering!”
Dima rolled his eyes, patted Gary on the shoulder and left, chuckling to himself all the way down the hall.
