He'd never been in the corner room, but he never really spent much time in the library at all... still, it was an odd little room.
Zeke paused in the midst of it, scanning the area for potential hiding places. Still, there was no point in searching when his crystal could tell him where it was. Right? Right?... well, more or less.
Once again, Zeke turned his attention to his crystal. Taking a seat on one of the sofas, Zeke focused on the room and his compass.
"Is my compass in this room?" he asked the crystal. It didn't move... ... not a no, not a yes. He tried again, trying to be clear with his intentions. "Is my compass in this room?" he repeated. The crystal moved, slowly at first, but quicker after a moment. It moved not in straight lines, but in a circle, round.... and round...
IT WAS IN HEREEEEE!!!!
Zeke jumped up from his seat, and scanned his surroundings. He already eliminated the shelves with books on them, the floor and the desks.... and on his initial inspections of the sofas, it wasn't there either. For this reason, he found himself gravitating toward the potted plant by the window.
...
THE WINDOW!
Zeke saw it, shining, gleeming, inviting him back.
"Gotcha!" he exclaimed, wrapping his fingers around his compass. He was NEVER giving it up, EVER again. EVER. "Let's get back," he noted, talking to the inanimate object he now felt SO close to.
