But I think I read somewhere that you have to have a question in mind, right? A specific question?" Maybe Eden was wrong. She might be. "And with the crystal--is there a certain way you have to hold it? 'Connect' with it and whatnot--your energy has to be very MELLOW for it to work--" She nodded some more. Like..any doubt or disbelief, and the scrying wouldn't work at all. Or work WRONGLy. Eden regretted saying all of this as she as she spoke, though, because she didn't know if it was right or not..but at LEAST she had given it shot.......ish. Giving the first person to answer a big smile and snaps, "Very good Eden, you do have to think of a specific thing you want to know unlike the other forms that you just clear your mind and see what is shown. Though the others forms can be done like that as well if you are trained well." That might be a bit advanced for most though. Quote:

Scrying with a crystal... slightly different... uhhhh... No, Toby didn't know, which was concerning... had he read about it but forgotten? That seemed highly likely; his brain was starting to feel saturated with information from his textbooks, and the Hufflepuff wondered if he'd reached a point where to get new information in, or information needed to be squeezed out. But rather than let himself dwell on that right now, he focused on the question and raised his hand to give it a good guess. "Do you dangle it in front of your face or something while you try to see something in the crystal?" Toby offered, ready to take notes for when the right answer WAS provided. He did wonder what might be so different in this case as opposed to the others. She gave Toby an encouraging smile and snaps, "You would think, but this is a little more complex then just looking for an image. Nice thought process in figuring it out though." Brilliant connection. Quote:

...
....
His hand went up, hesitantly. So much uncertainty. SO MUCH. "Professor, does it tell you if you're having a baby boy or girl? or how many babies? or if you use it on a map, can it guide to to someone?" Like... if you had something that belonged to them... like the personal belongings they'd surrendered. ???? She couldn't help but chuckle, "Zeke have you been around muggles at all?" She knew this was a very fun event for muggles to do, if they only knew it really worked. "Yes, the crystal can answer that question for you, but most muggles seem to think it's just a little game or for fun. We use the scrying a little differently then just finding out what a person is having, but it certainly can be used that way." Of course he got snaps for such a great answer. Quote:

Divination was pretty interesting, though she had to admit it wasn't a subject she read up a lot on in advance. Really she found it a lot easier than a lot of other classes.
Time to make a guess, so she raised her hand. Do we try to look at something through the surface of the crystal?" She really had no other ideas. Looking towards Lux, she got snaps for her answer as well. "Very good thoughts, we don't specifically look into the crystal for this type of scrying, but in some crystals you can look for an image." He knew that it probably wasn't an acceptable answer, so instead he chose to stay quiet, but looked around the room to see what others were gonna say anyways. 'Specially Sophie's 'Toberman' because he always had good answers.
And just then Eden began to answer and WOAH. No wonder she was a Ravenclaw. Yeah, Zander was going with hers. It sounded right. Yup. "I'm gonna have to second what Eden said, Professor," BEAM at you Eden. BEAAAAM. She just smiled encouragingly at Zander, though she wished he would have answered for himself, but he still at least had an answer. Quote:

Angel was that upset but she still wanted to give the question ago. "You *sob* have to *sob* ask a *sob* question *sob* right *sob*" Angel cried. "Oh well I'm sorry it was a bad image, but there is many ways to change it if it's a future prediction." She never felt a future was set in stone, but if they didn't change the steps that lied ahead it would certainly be true. She gave Angel a comforting look, "Take a breath and try to calm. There is tea if you need it." She hoped the girl would be fine in just a moment and then she answered the question or maybe she did? "You don't have to ask a question, but think of something you wish to know." Giving her encouraging snaps. Quote:

Scrying by crystal? Adi didn't know about that. His attempt at the answer was one of total guess work. He raised a hand. "Uh...you swing it from side to side like a pendulum. Maybe..." Hehe. That was sort of a creative answer. Giving Adi snaps and a nod, "It does involve swinging of the crystal. Very good Adi." Great answers all of them. Quote:

There was a new topic to discuss, so Jasmine grabbed her quill and began to write. Crystal scrying? She was not familiar with that. Listening to her classmates' explanations, Jasmine tried to formulate her own. Raising her hand, she went out on a limb........way out. "Maybe you hold the string and let the crystal dangle. Then as the light hits it, it reflects what you want to see onto another surface, like shadows on a wall." It was a crazy idea, but you never know. That was a very interesting and well thought out answer. "Very good thoughts Jasmine. We do hold the string and dangle the crystal." It was going to be so fun to show them. Quote:

The second year raised an eyebrow. A crystal on a string? All the other things they had looked at needed a reflection, but strings didn't reflect things, right? Maybe you had to clean the crystal really well so it reflects things. Yeah, that made sense kind....kind of....ish. Raising her hand before she could chicken out, she said "Maybe after you relax 'n stuff you clean the crystal so it gets really shiny and look at the reflection of in the face of it. But I dunno what the string is for..." Shrug. Dipping her quill in her ink pot, she scribbled down "Crystally stringy scrying" and prepared to write down whatever Professor Cassie said was the right answer. She grinned at the young Hufflepuff, sometimes the young minds are so wonderful to listen too. "I promise you they are very clean, but that is such a great thought. We won't need to look at it's reflections today." Nope no need to worry about the cleaning. She gave her snaps before moving to Kace. Quote:

He saw it being dangled by a string and he followed it and he saw the flecks of light being reflected in the room. He saw the rainbow colors and thought it was impressive.
Now how do they use a crystal...he really had NO idea. Or why is crystal scrying different from the rest? He had one idea and he raised his hand, "Professor I think you need more concentration to do crystal scrying and I read somewhere that you should do crystal scrying at night...is that true?" he was quite curious about it actually.
She gave Kace snaps as well to his answer "Concentration is a key for every type of scrying, but sometimes you do need more with crystals. Especially if you need to know something more specific." such as locations of missing things. "It depends on the night and the tone of the energy, but sometimes many forms of Divination is more powerful at night. Though all can be done through the day as well." So no worries it would work. It must be how everyone else was feeling too.
Lex sat forward, trying her hardest to listen but no promise she was lost on the idea of scrying with a crystal on a string...
What was that even and how did you do it?? The look on intrigue that now sat on her face was sign enough that she was ready to learn all the things. How fascinating!
___________ She could feel Lex staring and really listening. Giving her an encouraging grin, she didn't know what came over the seventh year, but it was amazing and Cassie surely thought she finally had gotten through to her! How fabtastic!
Grabbing what looked like a piece of folded parchment she laid it out on the desk. "Now this is a Hogwarts map. It shows all places inside and out of the castle." Holding it up she showed each of the students. "Now as some have said you can do a yes or not question and know the answer based on the drift of the crystal, but you can also locate a lost item." Setting down the map she held up the crystal. "Now for a yes or no you must think clearly of what you want to know. If you see it move in a straight line back and forth the answer is no, if you see it start moving in a small circle the answer is yes." Looking down at her crystal she thought about a certain thing that had been n her mind most of term and whether t would go her way. The little crystal began to start moving in a small circle and she beamed at the class. "Now back to the map. Now my mischievous kittens are somewhere around the castle, let's find them." She held the crystal over the map and it sat still for a few minutes before slowly moving towards the stables. "Oh good, looks like they are visiting their friends." Though she didn't need a crystal to answer that question with her gift. "Now I have enough crystals for each of you to take one. Please come up and practice with them using a yes or no question." OOC: Have your charrie come up and get the crystals and practice. Do this in two posts. You have until Sunday at 7 p.m. EST to do these two posts. Then we will move to the main activity. This class will be worth more points, because we will not be having any homework. Hence why there are three activities.
