| Puff by day, snake by night | Mj's bestie | Always UP to Something... She wondered how her little joke would go over and by the looks of it not so well, okay moving on. Whoops.
Once she was standing in front of the bowls, she took one and moved it towards her. Pointing her wand and filling it with water she listened to the answers and all the wonderful ideas from her students. SPOILER!!: answers Quote:

She didn't want to be rude and point out to the professor that, yes indeed - snow WAS white. Obviously the Professor knew that.
And then she laughed.
Well of course she knew the snow was white. But just because snow was white, that didn't make it a female? Maybe she was talking about a person? Zhenya shrugged it off.. maybe she was seeing something. No? Hmm.. well, anyway.
Bowls and scrying? Well, bowls held things; food, keys, lollies, soup… she raised her hand, "Er, Professor, would the bowls be used to put water in and then to scry with the water?" she asked. Looking to Zhenya first Cassie couldn't help but give a grin. This one was on her toes for her first lesson here. "Very good Zhenya, just as I did right now, we do fill the water into the bowl and the reflective water makes it able to scry with." Giving her snaps she moved to the next one with a hand up. Quote:

He simply went with it. "Yo, you put water in the bowl and then use it to scry. Or try to, of course." SKEPTISM was at an all time low today.
Did she see the smile? He was into it. Oh and another great answer here she gave Hugh snaps and nodded, "Very good, but let's keep positive about it. I am sure with a little practice even if you don't get it today you can scry with all these items we've talked about." Giving him a encouraging smile she had faith in all her students, even Alexa, that they could do it. Quote:

So major amounts of anxiety over here, even though Professor Cassie had put a protective spell over the objects. Eyeballs are on you, kneazle. "You put water in it and try to scry." Eyeballs still on the cat-like creature.
EYEBALLS ON KNEAZLE. "Yes, yes exactly right." Heather got snaps, though Cassie watched her eyes to the basket. She could see where the Kneazle made people nervous, but no worries Cassie was on top of it. Quote:

He froze for a moment as she mentioned seeing Snow White, and his eyes widened slightly, but it turned out that Professor Morgan was JUST KIDDING, and so Toby relaxed again. He did glance at Grayson and Eden as they were mentioned being seen in the mirror, and then looked back to the professor again.
Okay, so... bowls. Hmm. Up Toby's hand went. "Maaaaybe it's so you fill them up with soap and water and then clean the thing you're scrying with," the Hufflepuff suggested, once again casually forgetting that magic was a thing, and then he was, oh, you know, a WIZARD. Just thinking outside the box, y'know, in case it wasn't the obvious answer. Listening to Toby she couldn't help, but give him snaps. It was a great answer even if it was a little off. "Yes, we do use bowls to clean things, but typically there are special clothes for the crystal balls and the mirrors, well we could use the soap and water, but a quick cleaning spell does just as well. " Such a great guess though! Quote:

What the other students were saying about the water made sense, so she put her hand in the air to add to what they had said. "If you do but water in it, you probably have to look at the water until you see an image that isn't just a reflection? Like in the mirror?" Riiight? That was probably just a reiteration of everyone else, but she HAD tried. And anyway, she could never count on more than one right answer per class, she just didn't know that much. Darn young age. Hmph.
From the corner of her eye, she watched appreciatively as Professor Cassie cast a spell to protect Larry from that kneazle. She smiled at the professor again, pleased that SOMEBODY understood that stuffed lions were far too important to be scratched up by just anything. Beaming at Norah she gave more snaps, "Yes, very good. That's exactly the concept of scrying with bowls." She had the brightest students in her class. Quote:

The mention of Snow White got her attention.
REALLY?!
But of course it was a joke. LOL. Good one. Lux was pleased to see that Professor Cassie was able to joke about what had happened to her. Maybe she would get to that point too. That would be wonderful. The mention of using a bowl was interesting. Raising her hand, she gave a guess. "Maybe if you fill the bowl with water, it can be used for scrying too." "Yes very good Lux!" She got snaps as well. This was going better then she could have ever expected! Quote:

Then you could perform scrying by looking into the water. It would be the same concept as when you are scrying with a mirror. You look into it, but not directly into it and see images.....that is if it's working for you." Another very bright student, it was wonderful to see! "Great job, you are right. You can scrying with bowls and water." Snaps for Jasmine! Quote:

"Water can be used as a reflective surface." Though it wasn't much of a surface, hm. Did that count? It wasn't solid, but it shared reflective properties. "It can, bowls and water are actually used for a few different forms of Divination, but one is scrying." Did anyone else know the other forms? Hmmm maybe she'd ask later. Quote:

He'd sat on an orange cushion and waited, waving and smiling every so often as some of his closer peers joined them. He realllyyy wanted his compass back. He felt WEIRD without it. Legit. Zeke tapped his hands in a rhythmic beat, that lacked proper rhythm, on his leg while he waited.
The introductions were standard, but he did beam as his old snapthing was read out. THAT WAS HIM! Hehehehehe.
Back to the scrying stuff though, and he was kind of not entirely with it yet. It wasn't that the subject was boring per se, but his head just wasn't working just yet. Wasn't it all just the same? STARING and LETTING GO so that you could SEE? At least, that's how he figured it'd work. Uh huhhhhh........... yep, it sounded fairly straight forward. Zeke wrote that down. Dot points. Really quick.
...
And bowls? Ugh. He kind of disliked how the Professor's asked so many questions, why couldn't HE ask the questions and get the answers that way? Cause, how was he supposed to answer a question when he didn't know the answer??? Pooooop!!!!
Zeke wrinkled his nose a little, huffing to clear his nostrils of the noxious lavender fumes.
Everyone was talking about filling it with water, or using the reflections. Obviously there was an element of reflectiveness in all of them. Zeke did wonder though... "Professor?" he started, with his hand straight up in the air. "Can it give you like.. different perspectives of visions? Like how when you look at a spoon - depending on which side you're looking at, your face might be the right way up or it might be upside down and distorted. Is it like that?" And go figure, he had a better question to ask. "Oh, and can you scry with a spoon too?" Zeke had a very creative mind, she already knew this, but his thoughts on things did amaze her. She beamed at him. "That is possible. Depending on the bowl you can get more visuals with larger then smaller ones. So you have a point there." He certainly got snaps for his creative questions. "The best seers can to scrying through any forms of reflective pieces, but it takes years of practice. So for now we will just focus on the basic and most well known ways." Quote:

Not saying she preferred any over the other but you got the idea.
The moment the Professor got to demonstrating on the mirror, Leeeeaned forward, hoping she'd be able to see something too but then she was talking about Snow White and and and that was weeeird. Like why was Snow White in the mirror--oh wait, she was only joking. Hah...hahaha, Lex got the joke, honestly she did.
And Grayson was gonna be by the lake? She'd have to ask him about that later for sure.
"I'm gonna guess that you put water in the bowl, disrupt it then wait for it to settle to see what you're meant to." But that was only a guess before her attention shifting to her kneazle once again. Such a cute baaaby. Was it wrong to be a little freaked out by Alexa being so.. happy? Well she couldn't help but watch her a moment before giving her snaps. "Very good you do put water in just as I did. Then clear you mind and start your scrying." Very spot on today Alexa, what was the change? Though Cassie was excited to see it! Quote:

"There's nothing like being cold to waken your mind." Angel wasn't sure that this would be happening but everyone else had guess over stuff and no one had guessed this so she decided she wanted to be different. She just blinked at Angel's answer, "No, no we won't. That would not be nice at all. It would certainly not wake up the mind that we are trying to wake up. That would distract even the best seers." Goodness she hoped the girl was joking. Giving her a small encouraging smile, Cassie knew it was time to move on.
Moving the bowl to the front of the room Cassie looked down into it. "Now once you have your bowl, you will want to fill the water to almost the top. I wouldn't do the entire bowl just because it might splash out if you bump into it. That would cause concentration to certainly leave and your inner eye to close." They didn't want to do that now did they? "Just like the mirrors, scrying with other objects that aren't the crystal ball can be a bit more difficult. So if you haven't mastered the crystal ball do not get frustrated if you don't end up mastering either of these forms for a while either, but I know each and everyone of you have the talent so just keep practicing." Training and dedication were the key. "Now unlike the mirror, water will move so the images can seem like they are flickering. You must try to find a place that a bowl will not be bumped or there is no vibration that could move the water while you are trying to do your scrying." Were they getting all of this? She knew she was giving them a lot of information, but it was needed. "Now we must not get this form of scrying confused with other forms of Divination that use bowls of water. If you are trying to use the water outside you must be especially careful not to fall into another form." No birds or rocks around the classroom though so no need to worry. "Now I'd like to give you a chance to try out both these forms. I don't have enough bowls or enough mirrors for everyone to do it at once, so I want half the class to start on the mirrors and half the class will come get a bowl and start with the water. You can decide which you will do first. In about twenty minutes you'll hear a little timer go off that will indicate to switch. So go ahead and get started, if you have any questions feel free to ask." Vanishing the water from her own bowl she took it back to the table so someone else could use it. OOC: Alright everyone this is the first activity. Have your charrie pick which they would like to do first and RP them doing it. Once done with the first item there will be no timer or anything just have them move to the second. This should be done in at least six posts, three for the mirror and three for the bowl of water. You will have until Friday evening 10 p.m. est to finish the first activity before we move on. Cassie and I will be here if needed!
