19. Jelly Legs
Dima Toussaint
With gratitude to Lemon
Following an excellent corridor nap, Dima and Thornton made their way out to the grounds. Thornton was doing his best to keep up with the enthusiastic Dima, who just kept saying something about the squid in the lake.
Dima, somehow, had spotted the squid near the edge of the lake from the castle and was running at breakneck speed toward the creature. Thornton hurried though he kept falling further and further behind.
As Dima got closer, the squid moved abruptly and began to submerge, pulling his tentacles back from the shore. “I do not wish to be disturbed today, young Ravenclaw,” he said as his body disappeared below the surface of the water.
“Nooo, Bartyyyyy, let me hug youuuuuu,” Dima flailed as he ran into the water and wrapped his arms and legs around a rapidly descending tentacle. Though it shook in response, Dima held fast, either refusing to let go or stuck and unable to. Blub.
By the time Thornton reached the edge of the lake, Dima was gone.
A few bubbles.
And then nothing.
