| good chuck here for Thornton, Penelope, & Jasmine ^^ *STANDINGS UPDATE* astronomizzle ♧ gryffinDORK | & the rest is drag ♣ #badluckDerf Scaring the first year? NONSENSE! Airey Leighton Flamsteed was not a scary person. Scary was the former Potions Mistress, Cecelia, Sophia, the Headmistress, and possibly that receding hairline of the librarian's. Okay, so that last one wasn't really scary for him, but teasing Leobald about it made him look terrified so it sort of counted in a round about way.
Needless to say, the astronomer just sort of stood there looking at Miss Wright and then venturing a glance towards Mr. Baines every now and then. He wanted to ask if the boy really DID think that - that he was terrifying or what not - but if the first year said yes, well, chances were that he would probably just erupt into a fit of manly giggles because it was an amusing thought. Him. Scary.
In the next few moments, the Ravenclaw prefect had arrived and Airey's tense posture relaxed a bit at the shoulders, rolling then upwards towards his ears first before rolling them back down to a comfortable position. "I would like to point out that that rule applies to all houses," he said in regards to the having fun rule the prefect had just mentioned. And then there were shiny looking eyes. Eyes that implied...those things may fall at any moment, and he threw the prefect an appreciative smile and Miss Wright and Mr. Baines encouraging ones. He was a little distracted from the trio's conversation by the HORRIBLE AIM of the majority of Gryffindor house.
Sweet solstice, no wonder gobstones was so...difficult for the house these days.
"I'll leave these two in your care then, Miss Guirdy," he said, throwing the prefect a quick salute before continuing his patrol of the perimeter with his fingers still twitching towards his wand every now and then.
After some quick counting, Airey pointed his wand to his throat and announced, "Yellow planets seem the most resilient to asteroid attacks, followed by green, then blue, and facing the most destruction are those in red!"
Meaning that Hufflepuff was in first place, Slytherin in second, Ravenclaw in third, and Gryffindor last.
And with that aim....it was really no surprise. He was going to set up some sort of target practice in the common room after this. Definitely.
