Then there was a smile for added brownie points and all.
She edged past him so that anybody else coming to class could get in, as well, and then she began strolling the room in search of a seat. Merlin, was she the first one here? She pretty much had the pick of the litter as far as seats were concerned. She chose one and as she took her seat, she happened to glance up at the board. Dear Merlin! ...and a Muggle car at that. Couldn't he at least have chosen a cauldron or something? ............WHAAAA -
OOOOOOH HEHEHE, Cosgrach shook his head at her playfully as he laughed. It was a sign that she finally accepted him, though, and he felt accomplished. "It's great to see you on this bright day, Sophie." Hiz gaze followed her, and HAHA, her look at the picture.
He knew he'd done the right thing to wake them up for the class. Quote:

"Good morning, Professor. I hope you had a good summer," he flashed a brief smile at Culloden before grabbing up a seat near the back. The better to avoid first year explosions, my dear. "Morning, Mr. Branxton. It was busy and great, thank you. How was yours?"
Wasn't he going to look at the picture, though? No?
Shame. Quote:

With that in mind, she stopped just a few feet from the professor standing at the entrance of the potions' classroom. "Morning, Professor Culloden," she greeted with a bashful grin, then proceeded into the classroom only to stop suddenly in her tracks.
Catalonian Fireballs! What...was THAT on the blackboard?!
Slowly making her way to a seat at the front, Beverly kept her eyes on the picture. Even as she set her bag on the table and sat down, her eyes were glued on that picture.
Huh. Well. Huh... "Miss Beverly!" Cosgrach exclaimed - another GREAT student, just a bit shy but with excellent potions understanding. It was great to see her again. His eyes followed her too, and he giggled like a small boy when her eyes were glued on the picture.
Wonder what she might do during class? Quote:

Some she had seen the day earlier at the Slytherin table.
Marisol's schedule said the teacher was someone called Professor Culloden. He was presumably the man waiting outside to greet her. "Hello," she said. "Marisol Cruz." The first year didn't know how they addressed teachers in Britain. She hoped it was okay.
Marisol wasn't one to worry for long. She went to take a seat in the comfy chair closest to the back. As to not draw too much attention, because Mari wasn't always the most perfect student. She could get rowdy. Wait, what the heck was that thing doing on the blackboard? Oooooh, a new face! They were potential cauldron-exploders in Cosgrach's mind, but this one had the decency to introduce herself, so he was going to be easy on her. And anyway, he was far too excited to feel negatively, so he slightly bowed at the girl. "Welcome, Miss Cruz," he said, "Professor Cosgrach Culloden here."
She sat at the back? Okay. He could live with that. And it would affect less people if she did explode a cauldron, so he liked this arrangement. Quote:

Living with Rockwell for all of her life had taught the shorter girl SOMETHING.
Thank goodness it was potions. If this was something like Transfig, Caelen would be the crankiest Ravenclaw the school had. Early morning's weren't good for the second year and she wasn't a fan of transfiguration. The teacher was really tough! And she didn't have a natural knack for it like potions. So it was harder. And that was frustrating as heck for her. Potions was actually fun, getting to mix things to make something else. It was like magical baking.! Ooh, that was a fun term for it. Magical baking.
"Hello Professor! Did you have a good summer?" The twelve year old climbed into the comfortable seat and made a small 'ooh' noise. Very comfortable. Looking around, the freckled faced girl's round blue eyes crinkled with laughter. The picture on the board was so weird! Why was he lifting a Muggle car? And why was he doing arobics? Nothing about that made any sense whatsoever. Strange, Cosgrach could be. Caelennnn! Cosgrach grinned at the girl. She sure had some brains there. He liked that. "It was pleasant, thank you," he said, "how was yours?"
And the way she laughed. HEHE. Cosgrach was laughing too. Quote:

"Hello Professor. I'm Cristoffer Strand. Sander's brother. He told me to say hello for him. He said that you were one of his best Potions Masters and made me promise to attend your lessons. So here I am. Honestly though, I would have still attended, promise or not," Cris smiled conspiratorially at his Potions Professor.
Having said that, he turned around, found an empty workstation and sat down. It was then he noticed the picture of same said Professor grinning back at him from a poster. Only this Professor was exercising in the most peculiar way. He was lifting cars. Go figure.
Cris wondered whether the potion they would be brewing today had to do with enhancing one's strength...either that or making heavy things way lighter. Cris was eager to find out. "Another Strand, then?" Cosgrach smiled, and then it turned into a HUGE grin.
He was one of the best. HA! Sander KNEW how to make this man happy, and that the way to his heart was very well through compliments, and that -
He chuckled softly as his chest puffed out with PRIDE. "Please tell him my 'thanks'? You're very welcome at this class." Ehehehe, HEHE. What a GREAT way to start a class! Quote:

It was easy to track it down since he saw a girl about his age treading the path to the classroom. All he had to do was follow, and take a peek if it was the right room.
Copying his fellow Slytherin before him, Ethan stood by the door, gave the man before him a smile and a wave. “Good morning, Professor….uh…” What’shisnameagain?! The new student fumbled for his notebook and read the man’s name out loud. “Professor Cosgrach Culloden. Good morning, sir!” Ethan gave him a slight apologetic smile and a salute.
The new Slytherin entered the room and sat on one of the comfy chairs, and looked around him. Ethan approved of what he saw, until he saw the drawing on the board. What in Merlin’s…? The boy propped his elbows on the table, and cupped his hands on his chin to prevent it from hanging due to shock…or awe. It was pretty hard to tell. And another new face. "Morning, welcome," Cosgrach said, and kindly let the boy fumble with his notebook. He was in high spirits, see? He could tolerate those. And anyway, the boy looked to be a decent person, so Cosgrach liked him already.
Unless, he exploded a cauldron, of course, but no one would do that these days, would they? "And your -" he started to say, but the boy was already walking inside, so Cosgrach let it go this time. He'd learn his name later. Quote:

Was Professor Culloden seriously lifting a car over his head? SNORT.
That man was something else, and Lux could not take her eyes off of the picture. "Lux, welcome!" he exclaimed and smiled at another one of his good students. "I did, yes, and yours?"
And that snort? Hehehe. Yeah, you could say he enjoyed that sort of things. Quote:

The blonde Slytherin smiled very cheerfully at the Professor as she made her way into the room. "Hello, sir. Nice to see you again." Well. It was. Cat liked him! She'd been sure she'd miss Lafay a LOT, but Professor Culloden was rather awesome. She grinned again before heading off to pick out one of her favorite seats, which of course meant she was sitting beside Mo. It was kind of a Potions lesson tradition to sit with the boyfriend.
After she sat, she glanced at the board and tilted her head at it. "Miss Moretti," he greeted her, "nice to see you as well." He bowed formally and watched her too. Then he tilted his head as if he was copying her movements.
Mhmm. He wondered what she would do after class too. Quote:

HAHAHAHAHAHA. Marigold didn't get the picture ONE BIT but it was SO FUNNY and she was suddenly hunched over her desk WHEEZING from laughing too hard. But nobody saw that, right? "Marigold, girl," he smiled at the HAPPY person, "it was fine. How about yours?" She probably didn't hear that though, because she'd started laughing, and it infected him as well. OR super human strength even! Thatd be wicked.
Brown eyes glancing around the room his eyes fell on no one other than his best friend, hi Beverly. He also wasted no time going and claiming a seat next to her, comfy seats too! He sort of melted into his cause he was a tad tired and it was comfy though he wouldnt dare try to fall asleep in class. "Morning, son," Cosgrach greeted the boy and - teehee, he could TELL he was EXCITED. HEY! So was Cosgrach. And he was sure the potion they would brew would keep him awake. Quote:

Merlin was he tired. He hadn't gotten much sleep the night before which wasn't a good way to start your first lesson at school. Oh, well. Perhaps once the class and everything got going he'd wake up a bit more. Making his way to the washbin, he quickly washed his hands and then turned and found himself a seat near the front. Sitting down, he noticed how comfy the seats were. Was it just him or were they...really really comfortable? Merlin's beard...this was nice...he could just fall asleep right here...
His eyelids grew heavy and his eyes suddenly closed for a tiny bit before they opened at the sudden sound of someone bursting out laughing. He jumped in his chair slightly, looking towards where the laugh had came from. He chuckled sleepily to himself at the sight of Marigold laughing her head off. What was so funny? He turned to look at the board and saw the picture. Cocking his head as he studied it, he wondered what it could possibly really be. What was the purpose of it being up there? Hhmmm...he found himself nodding off again suddenly. "Morning, Dylan," Cosgrach greeted, and was surprised with himself. He remembered people's names! HEY! Could they believe that? Because he couldn't! He marvelled at his brain and forgot to watch this boy.
Well. He'd better NOT sleep or else, there would be consequences. Quote:

When she got there she found it a bit odd how happy the Professor was looking but you know what? No complaints, it'd hopefully make things better for that Dima kid.
Where was he anyway? Lex peeked into the room, seeing if she could spot him before turning a pleasant smile toward the door guarding Professor. "Hello Professor. Trust you had an interesting summer?" Did he know she'd gotten an 'E' for his subject? Did he know it was because she followed the book and made lots of reference to the book? No funny business with messing with potions, yeah? Great--What the kneazle was that on the board and WHY?? Blink. Blink. Oh dear.
Without giving it much thought, the Gryffindor slipped into one of the middle rows and took a seat. Not the back where she'd be distracted but not the front with the Professor either. That was Ravenclaw stuff...or you know...eager Firsties. Neither of which she happened to be.
Now then, where was that little Ravenclaw? Was she looking for someone? Did she remember THAT BLASTED DAY as vividly as Cosgrach did? Because Cosgrach was still VERY wary of her, could she tell? He hoped she could, with the suspicious look he gave her as she peeked her head BEFORE greeting him. "It was uneventful, thank you," he said through narrowed eyes. Had she just said 'trust'? Funny, really funny. If this was some sort of word-games, not that she looked like she was capable of those, mind you -
Well. Thankfully, before his suspicions escalated, the next student distracted him. Thankfully. Quote:

Lots of first years probably had no idea what the Potions Master looked like, let alone his NAME. But he did! The Gryffindor Prefect had given him instructions to greet the man right away, so he was all set to burst into speech as soon as he entered the dungeons. And that was exactly what he did. "G'morning, Professor Collarbin!" Beam. "I'm Dima Toussaint! First year Ravenclaw, sir. Looking forward to your lesson!"
Peering around the man, he finally located Lex in the middle row of the room and grinned. Look! He'd remembered! ............
............................
Why was the world in slow motion? The way he followed silly boy's gaze and found Alexa, or the way he breathed with difficulty, or even the way his mind worked. All so slow. Even his anger was slow to reach his face, so when he spoke, his voice was threateningly calm. "Welcome to Hogwarts, Dima," he addressed the little boy, "d'you mind telling Alexa to meet me at my office after class, please?"
There was going to be blood. Quote:

As he began slumping in his seat, his eyes locked on the huge picture on the blackboard. "What the..." He raised a brow. Ummm...whatever floats the Professor's boat... No greetings? Okay. Cosgrach could live with that. He shrugged to himself, was actually annoyed with this one's reaction, and turned to the next student.
This one would need to show extra effort for the Professor to like him. Quote:

Besides, speaking to a professor was much more difficult and at least he said something. Zander looked around the classroom and found a seat that was far, far away from the professor. Maybe next lesson he'd work up the courage to take a seat in the front, he is a Gryffindor for goodness sakes. But again, baby steps. "Hello, mister," he greeted him, but didn't insist, since the boy didn't want to speak. He couldn't do anything about those type, y'know? And anyway, it was sometimes better that they didn't speak.

The dungeons was a nice place. Errr no. Too dark, cold and mysterious for her. Yep she'd only visit when she needed to. Like potions lessons.... Or a place to hide. She found herself following some people hopefully they were going to the lesson too. She didn't know where the lesson was at down here. Once she arrived to the classroom the professor was standing right at the door.
well... Wasn't that just an award winning smile there. "Hello professor. I'm Cinnamon Bayless third year Gryffindor." She introduced herself and headed on into the classroom. Where she spotted Lux. She smiled to her friend and took a seat beside her. "Hey." She said quietly. When she looked up at the blackboard to see what today's lesson was going to be about her jaw dropped. Merlin was that a car he was holding over his head? How it the world? "And I'm Cosgrach Culloden, pleased to see you, Cinnamon," he told her and watched her to see her reaction.
...ehehehe, nice one. One of the best reactions so far: jaw dropping open. Hehehe. Quote:

No unknowing new kids had stolen her spot by Culloden's desk, right?
She was distracted from her worries when she heard the strangest of interjections coming from inside the classroom as she approached. Professor... Collarbin? Merlin. Who'd been coaching the first years these days? Taking her turn to enter, she greeted Culloden with a high-five. "High expectations for this class today, y'know, considering how fun your first class was last year," was her way of greeting him, the broadest of smiles spreading across her face. "No pressure or anything." Except there was ALL THE PRESSURE.
...But as she faced forward and saw the image on the blackboard, Sophie's eyebrows pressed together in a bizarre mixture of confused amusement, and she turned to let Culloden SEE her roll her eyes in jest. "You are something else, sir." A big dummy, is what she wanted to say, but instead, she lightly bopped both Mo and Cat on the head with a finger in greeting as she passed them and took her usual seat at the front of the classroom, unpacking all her potions items and working at scourgifying everything while everyone else got settled, too. And... where was Tobes? Well, FINALLY. "Finally, you've decided to show up." He tried to sound as if he was heartbroken, but HAHA who was he kidding? He enthusiastically high-fived her back and laughed. "I think you'll like it." Though, it may also not be her type of thing. Hmm. It was hard to tell. In any case, he was EXCITED and so she should be!
His eyes followed her as well, of course, and he giggled like a little boy. "I try," he said, and nodded to himself. She sat in her usual seat. Good. Quote:

Then the second year's eyes drifted over to the blackboard. "Is that you, sir?" Was Leah's response, snorting with laughter. Very obvious, but just in case Professor Culloden had a twin brother or something. "Oh, and good morning. Hope you had a wonderful summer." She smiled. She went to drop her bag on a table near the wall and headed to wash her hands. Y' know, hygiene. Ehehehe, he chuckled along. "It is, yeah." YEAH. He'd lifted a muggle car once, how cool was that? Merlin, Professors these days. "Morning, Miss Wisteria." His greeting was just as cheery, though it wasn't odd for him. He liked to torture students at that early hour, and he'd certainly taken a potion to make his mind clearer whereas poor kiddos didn't.

At least, she was able to pretend easier, especially as she knew that it wasn’t very advisable falling asleep in this class. Not when that could lead to explosions and who knew what else. That told her absolutely nothing that could help figure out the lesson, unless they were going to be creating a strength potion, or a stamina potion. I hope it isn’t a potion to make us do completely silly things. I’m not testing it if we are, she found herself thinking, taking out her supplies and silently Scourgifying them so they’d be ready when the lesson started. Was there a Ravenclaw boom this year? "Morning, Lady," he greeted her back, and eyed her being aaaaall aristocracy again.
Huh. He still couldn't understand how Sophie ended up in that house. Quote:

"Why the Professor Culloden was lifting a Muggle car? This was very peculiar!"
Lucy could not hold back a smile... Collarbin... Collarbin... Collarbin... Oooooh, Alexa, you are DEAD! "Hello, hello," he greeted her through gritted teeth, and didn't watch where she sat, because thinking of how he should kill Alexa was better. Quote:

See, the Ravenclaw had made a decision about her academics going into this final year; a rather important one, too. She was going to REALLY try. Unlike last year...and the year before that....when she'd allowed distractions. Okay, there would probably still be distractions...BUT Ves was going to try harder.
So, bright and early, mhm. She was here.
...and already doodling the board!art onto her notebook page. Looked like the Professor's face, too...but she didn't care too much. Her mind was in other places, despite her vow to do better. Sometimes her hands just had a mind of their own. This was what this was...if anyone asked. And another one passed without a greeting, but Cosgrach was used to it by now, so he shrugged to himself. He hoped they could be good students, at least. He closed the door once Vesper'd entered and turned to the class. He was stading at the right side of the picture not to block their sight, and grinned at them. "Welcome to the first class of this term," he said, "I'm Cosgrach Culloden, for those who don't know me, and this is my second term teaching." So, NO 'Collarbin, Dima and Lucy, see? C-U-L-L-O-D-E-N. His eyes were on Alexa, though, and his teeth were clenched momentarily before he relaxed himself. Today was a beautiful day, and it would be even better when he and she had a chat at his office. "Today, we'll brew a strength potion that will enable you to," he took a deep breath not to laugh, "lift a car like I'm doing in this picture. Not just for entertainment, though. It was used to carry all kinds of material in the past, beginning from ancient times, for building and stuff," yeah yeah, he didn't know why else people moved stuff and they shouldn't question that, that wasn't the point, "so we see some of those historical buildings thanks to it." He grinned proudly. They could tell it was one of his favourite potions. "It is very easy to brew, and it is good for anaemia, lack of red blood cells in the blood. It makes you dizzy and causes lack of strength, so if you don't want to bother with a proper health potion," or lack the ability to do it, "I suggest you brew this. It's also good for lack of iron, so let's start brewing!"
He didn't want to fold his amazing picture, but the kids should also learn this potion, so he tapped his wand at it and it folded itself to open the blackboard. Quote:

1. Add 2 litres of water and the unicorn tail hairs one by one "As dragon heart is actually expensive, and rare," he eyed them all for it to sink, "you have to use it carefully. One heart should be enough for all the class, and uh," he glanced at his empty table, "I'll bring it and the scale while you do the first step." No one sight problems, he hoped? He didn't need to read it out himself, right?
Right.
With that, he quickly opened the door of store room and entered to get them. OOC: The class has started, so please do not post your characters arriving late. Just act as if they have been there all along.
The class will continue about 11 hours later.
