27. Owl

The owl was delivered from St. Mungo’s at dawn. Abraham had been awake ever since, he sat on the edge of his bed, his wife’s soothing breathing was the only sound in the house. The letter lied on the nightstand, he had his hands clutching his neck as he thought on and on about the possibility of losing her when they just started their life together.

“Rahim?”

Ab turned to the sound of her voice, and put on a smile. “Morning.”

Debby straightened up, the silvery hair giving her a majestic look. “It’s confirmed?”
