93. Chicken
Dax woke one night to an empty dorm. Hearing some noises downstairs in the Common Room he quickly went to see what he was missing. Apparently his dorm mates wanted to sneak out and head by the lake to toss an older kids trunk there.
“You coming Dax?”
But before he could answer another quickly piped up. “Of course he ‘aint.”
The boy’s eyebrows crinkled and his feet shuffled awkwardly beneath him. “Who says I’m not coming? I-It sounds fun.” He lied, hoping he wouldn’t be left behind.
“Yeah, why can’t he come?”
“Because he’s a bloody chicken, that’s why.”
