With the second mistake of the boy, the potion has changed to purple alright, but that wasn't its final colour. No, really? Cosgrach grunted to himself, but no one could tell it was for this girl. He looked generally grumpy anyway, so he--and the girl--was safe.

The potion is reluctant to change colour, it seems. Half of it is turning purple as if someone dropped purple ink: changing slowly, dissolving in the liquid, but the other half looks stubborn too. 1,5-2 minutes pass, it almost looks as if the battle is lost, but purple overcomes at last and it proudly sparkles.

Luckily, it looks like the loss of concentration won't cost anything.

"Add pomegranate juice," he announced from the middle of the class, turning around slowly for everyone to hear it, "wait until the potion is lime green and add the asphodel roots you've crushed in the beginning."

There were only two steps left, and one was only waiting. Surely... they could survive without a problem now?
