Lorraine was waiting out in the backyard, sitting at the table with a cup of something steaming between her hands when Gabriel joined her. "How did it go, lovebug?" She asked, and watched a slight flush appear on his face before adding, "I've called you that since the time we brought you home."

Gabriel shrugged, the ghost of a smile outlining his lips. "She didn't know anything about him. Just memories, and that he left us."

Lorraine reached a hand out to place over his. "What did you learn about your mother?"

"That she's not my mother. You're my mum."
