He was sorry, alright? Like really REALLY sorry. The man really wanted ice cream and had seriously been considering lifting the ban on food and drink in his lessons just for it. But he just couldn't do it. Not IN his classroom at least. There were ways around that this lesson if students knew how to approach the situation. He certainly had found his loophole once the activity came around.

"I know who the guy is, professor!" Her hand was raised, and she waved it about for good measure before answering, too. Just in case Aireyhead was still thinking about ice cream- ice cream!!- and didn't see her. "An astronomer." .. well, obviously. Did they even talk about anything else in here? But she wasn't going to say his name, because he hadn't specifically asked for a NAME.

.. also, because she didn't know.
She did?! Excellent! Or, er....she sort of got it right. Good and safe deductive reasoning there, Miss. Fischer. Considering the subject and all. "An astronomer, yes. Yes he was."

Well then, there went Miss Cambridge spiraling down the bottomless pit that was her ice cream loving stomach. We are really sorry, honestly! "Thank you for your honesty, Miss Cambridge." That should earn him some kudo points back, right? Considering what her and Miss Wisteria had been thrown in detention for and all.

But, I'd say he's a political astronomer!?" If that was even a possible occupation. Tag held back a quiet laughing fit. No he'd not burst out of laughter from his answer. What was the point in lying his answer?
"Sometimes astronomy and politics overlap," he nodded thoughtfully. "Especially in the beginning. The entire space race of the 1950s and '60s to put the first man into space was argumentally politically driven." You know, United States of America against the Soviet Union.

THAT is the only answer he'll get. For now.
Miss Wisteria looked almost as bad as she had when she had come to visit his office. Okay okay, he wouldn't try and punk students in this manner again. He couldn't handle the tears nor comparing himself to Erik who had essentially tortured Miss Wisteria during her detention.

"Yes, yes he was."

And onto something actually related to Astronomy now. "That's Galileo." At least, she was pretty sure that's who it was.
Airey shook his head. "Not Galileo. Doesn't have that snappy beard that Galileo has in his portraits." Airey couldn't really grow a proper beard, for the record. Ended up coming in all patchy. She he was rather jealous of Galileo.

Ah yes, more deductive reasoning. "Both, actually," he nodded before moving on.

Depression over not having ice cream in the classroom found temporary relief with the Slytherin quidditch captain's answer. "YES! It most certainly IIIIIIIIIS!" he cheered as he, yes, jumped on top of the boy's desk. It was an easy way to grab everyone's attention when a good answer had been given.

"And judging by that name, he sounds German" NOD NOD it was a total German name wasn't it?
Did anyone else think that when Mr. Katharos pouted he looked like a duck? Anyone else? Or was it just him?

Thankfully the boy's desk was not too far away from Mr. Montmorency's, so he easily leapt from one to the other with a unusually big smile on his face. More unusual than usual that is, which was really saying something. "RIIIIIIIIGHT you are!"

All this I get from his hairstyle, maybe they also had hair peices like that in other countries. Due to the lesson I guess h is a astronomer as well" not the exact answer yet she tried.
Miss Edwards did tend to give the more out of the box answers, which he appreciated greatly as it kept things interesting. Especially when she was correct. "Very interesting, Miss Edwards. Our mystery person actually lived from November 15, 1738 to August 25, 1822."

You know, how they wear those long white wigs and stuff?
"Ah, you must mean the wigs of the parliament," Airey replied. He had to wonder if the Wizengamot wore those too. He had never been to a trial, so he really had no idea. Would be funny to see though. Wigs. Heh. "I think we are all appreciative that this is no longer a typical and expected hairstyle of men."

Although that would also be funny to see.

"Not bad. Different. Different for the time period," he corrected sternly. Do not insult astronomers in his presence. Did not bode well.

Twitch. Stare some. Twitching more. He had a hard time telling if she was just being blunt, rude, or what. "He is, unfortunately, no longer with us, yes." And he was going to mooooove along now.

Because all famous dead people who had discovered something in their life seemed to look like that.
Ah, interesting answer. "Ironically, Miss Sung, many of the great scientific minds in history did not receive their fame until after their deaths due to their ideas being too far from the accepted status quo. Yet they never ceased their research. We owe a lot to these great minds. Not to mention a very important life lesson as well." Just something to think about.

"I appreciate your honesty as well," he nodded towards the seventh year. "And he most certainly was."

Although it was a preeeeeeetty safe assumption that all pictures of people he showed in his class were astronomers.

It was probably some famous astronomer or someone. But where is the fun in that.
"KHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAN!"

And he said this complete with clenched fists and a slightly distorted face.

And no explanation as to WHY because, obviously, Dylan had said everything. Most of it. You still got the point.
Look at all those Slytherins on a roll. Or sticking together. How very Hufflepuff of them! Airey leapt from Mr. Katharos' desk to Miss Hudon's and did a little happy dance before jumping off finally. "Very good, Miss Hudson."

"Dumbledore?"
"Dumbledore wishes he were as handsome as this fellow," Airey chuckled at the boy's response. The professor had also been told that if you stared at the picture long enough, changed the hair, and took off a few years that it looked like him.

Oops. He was back to jumping up on desks again. This time the one belonging to Miss Ella. "Excellent, Miss Ella! He did indeed." But Saturn would be a discussion for another term and not today.

It was odd the number of people who also didn't know who the guy was. Sophie had grown used to everyone knowing most things! Huh... maybe professor Flamsteed had finally gotten them all to-- oh, there were lots of people who knew who he was after all.

Never mind then! The badger listened as each student pretty much said a different name, and looked back at the picture, wondering which name suited the man better.
Attentive listening from Miss Campbell, good enough for him. She got a quick salute before he looked to the next student.

Was it just him, or did the Head Girl always seem to be giving him strange looks? If she needed to use the restroom or something she was more than welcome to. She did tend to look uncomfortable all the time in his lessons. Hmmm.

Pfft. Unhappy Slytherin.
What had this one's wand in a knot? Had Miss Greenwell eaten his dinner or something? Had he hurt the boy's feelings with the ice cream joke? No matter, as long as he was listening all was well.

"This man is no extraterrestrial," Airey chuckled. "Although his thinking and methods were out of this world for his time." Good humor there, young padawan.

With that in the back of her mind, she focused back on the lesson.

Oh, a picture of some bloke she didn't know. Or...did she? Had Professor Burbage shown them someone like that? "Is it...Newton?" she asked/answered, raising her hand. Burbage's would-be husband. Penelope didn't really remember what he looked like exactly all that well, so she wasn't sure. She didn't really spend her time memorizing old astronomy guys' faces after all, especially not when she had a boyfriend who had a much nicer face to look at.
"No, this is not Newton," Airey replied with a shake of the head, similar to that of a wet dog getting out of a pool of water. You know, just for emphasis.

She could multiply too. She was a double threat. She could cook too. She just wasn't sure that that was concerned a threat.
"EXCELLENT MISS PHILLIPS!" he applauded, but refrained from jumping on her desk for now.

He couldn't have asked for a better segway into his next question. So good for you young lady!

"As some of you guess, this man is William Herschel. He was a German-born British astronomer, technical expert, and composer who is known for making many scientific breakthroughs in the field of astronomy. Among those are his discovery of the planet Uranus and its two major moons and the two moons of Saturn. He is also the first to discover infrared radiation and has 24 outstanding symphonies that I suggest you all listen to. Especially for those of you who will be studying for your OWLs and NEWTs. Helped me out quite a bit when I was a studying student." Just so they all knew.

"Now, Miss Phillips touched on something very important and relevant to our discussion of Polaris. Can anyone tell me what discovery Herschel made in regards to it?"

OOC: class will continue later today GMT+9 Probably around 11 hours from now
