Vesper was jealous that they had new Professors...and seriously could not wait to come to Hogwarts...It was better than the dinosaurs that taught her currently, anyway......And she didn't just call anyone a dinosaur, either. They looked the part.

After handing over the money, she accepted the quill and piece of parchment. Merlin, that was a lot to think about...but she tried coming at it in other ways...like...how many eggs did ashwinders lay...and were they jarred per ashwinder...Hmm. 10 jars...If they had something like...6 individually, that'd be 60...but three were not even numbers...

Hmmmmm.

SPOILER!!: Vesper's guesses!

Handing it over, she shrugged. "There."
West took the sheet and looked at the guesses. He shook his head.

"Sorry, didn't get any right. But you get a consolation prize." He grinned at her and placed a packet of Ice Mice in front of her. "Thanks for helping out. I'll make it up to you when we hang out again, promise."

Pulling the piece of parchment closer, he ran his eyes along the jumble of numbers and sadly shook his own blonde head. "I'm awfully sorry, ma'am. These are incorrect." The Slytherin wasn't genuinely sorry...but hopefully she believed he was. "...Would you like to try again...or would you just like to buy a jar straight up...Four galleons."...which was cheap considering that ashwinder eggs usually went for 1 galleon apiece...
"Aw too bad. It WAS for a good cause though, wasn't it?" She eyed the kid and then winked. He'd already got some of her money. At least when she told Plymouth he'd be alright with it. Actually he'd probably want to rush down here and 'help' out too. Maybe best not to tell him then. "No, I think I'll be alright. Good luck."

She picked up her things and went on her way.

"Selling something?" not that Ira Banner actually WANTED to buy things from any kids but hey, that one there was his cousin technically speaking. He eyed West suspiciously.

He was surely up to something. It was an Odessa thing. And one of the reasons he always thought his cousin Wendy was nuts for marrying Leon Odessa. West here mostly had his father's shifty side in the wandmaker's opinion.

Too charming for his own good, see?
"Oh Iraaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa. Sup." West greeted cheekily. "Not really. I mean, we're supposed to sell Ashwinder eggs but I thought it'd be kinda dumb to do what everyone else is doing so, thought we'd do a guessing game." So far so good.

"You want a go? They make great firestarters."

"..................." No? No he didn't. Not really? But also he figured if he didn't, it'd get back to Linda and she'd give him a hard time. Ira grumbled to himself. He didn't want to part with any of his money.

___

"One guess then."

___

"Two." West said immediately, sizing his older cousin up.

___

".... alright. Two." Bloody hell.

___

"I mean, if you're going to get two you might as well pay another sickle and make it three for thirteen." West added with an innocent expression.

___

.... Ira gave the teenager a stubborn look.

"No. Two. Do you have change for a galleon?"

___

"Awww you know what? I don't have any change for you." West said, having no issue with the fib. Technically he didn't have change for IRA he had change for himself. So. There. "But I'll give you a hint along with your two guesses for a galleon."

___

"Bloody hell. Just.... lets get this over with then." Ira grumbled and wrote down a couple guesses. "Forget the hint." Grumble grumble. "You tell your Aunt Linda that I helped out though, alright?"

He wrote down 50 and 100, and placed a galleon on top of the parchment piece.

... yeah.

______

"Oh sure, I'll tell her." West scooped up the galleon and eyed the guesses. "Sorry! Didn't get it right. See you around cuz." He watched with a grin as his cousin left, and West swept the coin into the tin. Successs.

He noted the other lady come up but figured that Dylan had that covered. Mmhmm.
