It was meant to turn turquoise, but Edita wasn't sure what color that was specifically. Blue was blue, wasn't it? "I assume they change the color," Edita responded to November's question but directed her gaze to Ezra. "You should ask the little potions master here though. I'm no expert. I just know how to throw things into the mix."
And sometimes she could stir clockwise or was it counter clockwise? Ed decided she'd allow Ezra and November to put their big brains together while she went back to staring at her simmering potion, until it turned a brighter blue. That should be just about it, right? Shrugging, Edita glanced down at her untidy scrawl for the next step. "Add one measure of Doxy Eggs," she murmured and made a face at the paper. "Which means what? Three eggs? Then why not just say so from the beginning? Why do they have to confuse you?"
UGH. Edita scooped the doxy eggs from the jar, and manually picked out the surplus with nervous fingers, dropping those back into the jar until only three were left in her spoon. "It doesn't say if it's all in one go, or one by one so..."
She dropped those in quickly before she could second guess herself some more. Edita held her breath for ten seconds, but nothing had exploded, or burped, or made some obscene noise, or gone up in flames. She patted her arms, they were all intact. Her nose too, she noticed, as she pawed at her face. "Whew!" she exclaimed, hunching over. "I thought for sure I was going to lose a body part early on in the game of this potion mixing business." " Are you asking me or talking to yourself child?" She asked the girl. Quote:

It had nothing to do with what it represented, obviously, she was just a rather particular child, especially when it came to things like colours. Some colours were just prettier, okay??
For some reason she felt this urge to try poking the colour away with her wand, that usually worked you know, her poking things away with her wand but she didn't want anything to go wrong with her very...interesting, for lack of a better word, wand so she refrained.
Instead she got the last thing that needed to be added, only it wasn't the last ingredient because she still needed to think of something else that she was going to add. It probably had to represent something and she barely knew the ingredients that went into any one potion as it were. If she still couldn't think of anything by the time the ginger did it's stuff then she'd probably have to ask the Professor. Potions would be so much better if it didn't have the part where you had to memorize stuff to put into it along with what they might do for it.
Lex got the ginger in but after watching it disappear into the solution she realized something; she still had no idea what else she was putting in there. She turned the Professor. "Professor, I don't think I know what else I'm meant to put in here...like...it's supposed to be something of our choosing but what exactly is it meant for...?" Did that even make sense? She could try rephrasing, it all went to her not knowing what to put in. " Think about what you want to do with the potion, what's missing then?" She asked. Quote:

Belle saw she needed to add the 3 flying seahorses. Belle found them and added them one by one.
One...sploosh....Two...sploosh...Three...sploosh
After putting the seahorses in, she then lit the fire under the cauldron one last time. "Incendio!" and then she saw the potion turning green after a few minutes. Hmmm...green...it was one of her favorite colors. Belle then jumped and said "Finite!" She was dazing because green reminded her of the grass back on the farm. Ah Belle focus! It was quite hard to focus since the dungeon was hot with all the potions going.
Then Belle saw her last step and noticed she needed to add in an extra ingredient. She was hesitant about it. Belle looked around and wonder what she could add to it. "Professor can you give us a hint to what to add to the potion? I am nervous about adding the wrong ingredient...." " Doing things wrong, is part of learning and getting things right." She said and looked over to the child who made her cauldron explode. " Just because Miss Carter-Hope exploded her cauldron doesn't mean she won't get credit for it... she will." Quote:

Note to self: you are awful at humor, November. Leave it to Eddie, and her dart jokes and butt jokes.
Her gaze returned to her cauldron, and the pink liquid within. At least it'd finally gotten to an acceptable shade of pink. While she was fairly decent at potions, November found it required great patience, and rather lacked it in great quantities. Plus, these instructions made her second guess everything she did. Sometimes a girl just required a lot of details.
Holding the jar of the dragonfly thoraxes (and what exactly, was a thorax?) November noted the amount of animals used in potions. Sure, dragonflies were bugs and Noe held little compassion or concern for bugs, but there were seahorses involved, involved as well! "Er, sorry little guys," November apologized half-heartedly, with an unconcerned shrug. One, two, two-thirds, four, five, a shift in colors. The pink began to deepen, headed to a pretty shade of magenta she'd like to wear on her nails. Ten, eleven, twelve, thirteen, fourteen, opinion, couldn't she just leave it st this pretty color?
Finally, the eighteenth dragonfly whatever bit breached what November assumed was red enough. Right? Could it go another shade? The instructions said not to exceed twenty - that left two. What happened after twenty, though? She'd rather not mess up this potion! "Does this look red enough?" she questioned her friends, catching her lower lip between her teeth and nibbling gently as she contemplated the shade in her cauldron. Precision made her anxious. Bad marks and melted cauldrons rather ruined her mood. " Yes, it does..." She said thinking the girl was asking her.
