When the Senior Undersecretary, Ian, called all the candidates up in front, Lourdes excused herself from the conversations she had with the other people. That included employees, fellow department heads, and Board of Governors managers. The woman made her way to the Grand Stage with a smile on her face. She gave everyone she passed by a smile and a generous nod. Lourdes did her best to be professional. She settled it in her mind that she did not take anything spiked with any sort of potion, unlike how absentminded she was during the Hogsmeade debate. She was determined to do better and not to keep babbling during this debate. The second debate. Why were there a lot of debates?

Finally up the stage, Lourdes gave each of her fellow candidates a quick nod before taking her seat. She waited for the others to arrive.

Our first question of the evening is directed to all of you, so pleased step forward to the front of the stage to answer when you're ready and then take your seat again when finished. If you need more time, you can answer as quickly or slowly as you wish... don't be intimidated if your compatriots get ahead of you. This first question should be easy, as it's something you've been considering since you first tossed your hat in the ring so many months ago: Why do you feel you are more qualified for this position than the other candidates? We want to hear about what sets you apart from the crowd."
Oh, so the first question was asked by the current Board of Governors president, Cassandra Rae-Branxton. This must've been important because she was the one asking. Lourdes sat straighter and listened as the lady read the question from the cards she was holding. Must've been carefully prepared, yes?

It was the same question as the one asked during the Hogsmeade debate. This wasn't so bad then. Lourdes would've said the same response she had during the previous debate but that, in her opinion, would bore the audience. She didn't like to see people getting sleepy while she spoke. It was rude, you know. Before going in front to answer, she watched as the other candidates speak. They all had smart answers, and they all had points. This, however, did not make Lourdes get more nervous because she had her perks. This was her place, the Ministry. She knew the people here, most of them. She was confident about all of this. Finally she went in front to speak, smile on her face as always. Hem hem. "Good evening, everyone," she said. "I am Lourdes Black, Board of Governors candidate."

Time to speak. "I do believe that I am qualified to be a member of the Board of Governors because I've once been a student in the school. I know how it feels like to be a student at Hogwarts. I know that it is considered home for the other students. I have spent most of my learning years within the boundaries of Hogwarts. I know how important the education being taught at Hogwarts is in preparing our students for the future, for what happens once they graduate and go on with their life afterwards." Pause. "I also know that there are certain students that need motivation to study. This motivation can be found in being inspired. Inspiration can be in any form of interest, whether it be someone they look up to, or just certain things like subject preferences and sports." Quidditch and Gobstones for the win. "But I think the most important is the willingness to help and serve everyone, in this case, the Hogwarts students, both graduates and undergraduates, their parents, family, and those concerned. I may not have any big achievements, but I, Lourdes Black, am willing to lend an ear to everyone. Your opinions and concerns help improve the school. Everyone has a right to speak, and I will listen to whatever you have to say."

That was pretty much it. Lourdes smiled at the audience. "Thank you," she said and gave a polite nod before returning to her seat.
