Surely everyone knew about the school he teacher at, so brilliant! Time to move on.
Seth turned around a little to face the candidates again, but never turning his back to the audience. "First I would like to congratulate all of you. Every one of you is doing a very good job tonight!" He smiled as he looked at each candidate in the eyes for a second. Everyone could use some encouragement now, he was sure. Okay, now the question. Seth kept smiling at them as he spoke. "Second, we don't have any time to waste, so onto the next question, yes!?" Yes! Life was short. "Do you feel it is important as a board member to work along side of the professors and keep them in the know of everything going on or do you feel the board should be separate?"
A particularly good question in his opinion, being a teacher himself. Smile! When the next adjudicator stood to ask a question Althea listened with interest, giving the man a bright smile when he mentioned he was a teacher, and at primary level, since she'd fairly recently convinced Dash to send Kyroh to school as not all wizarding children did, and that was the age bracket he was in.
She listened attentively to the question and looked out at the audience as it was phrased. Her eyes came to rest on Dash for a speculative moment as she thought about her answer, and yes it was one that she had given thought to personally. So she stood to take her turn to answer, trusting the charms on stage to carry her voice to the people watching. "I don't believe the two options are mutually exclusive, and I do think it is important that the Board and the staff have a healthy working relationship and are able to communicate and make decisions effectively. However, the Board is a separate entity, and needs to be, in order to uphold its duties. In some cases it is appropriate to keep professors 'in the know' as you say, but in others it is more important to be discreet." "In most cases the professors and other school staff," Lets not forget the Healer, the Groundskeeper, or the Librarian, "should be informed of anything they need to be aware of via the Headmistress. School business, and particularly business that the Board of Governors is responsible for, can and should be communicated appropriately, and via the appropriate channels, to better ensure a strong and effective Hogwarts on an operational level, so that it may continue to function on an educational level."
She nodded once, decisively, and then with another quick smile, returned to her seat.
