Why do you feel you are more qualified for this position than the other candidates? We want to hear about what sets you apart from the crowd.
Nolan had not honestly expected to feel this nervous. He had shown up to the debate, confident and ready to address the masses, but now that he was actually HERE, his heart was racing. He had a lot riding on this debate. A LOT. He listened carefully to each one of the candidates and prepared his speech in his head. He had to do this JUST right--he wanted to make himself rememberable without putting anyone to sleep. When it was finally his turn, he cleared his throat, stepped up to the podium and grinned out at the crowd.

"Good afternoon, ladies and gentleman!" he called out to the crowd. Now that he was at the podium, addressing everyone, his anxiety fizzled away. He could do this! He was NOLAN MICHAEL REYNOLDS and he was prepared to fight today!

"I think that what really sets me apart from the crowd is my continued persistance of bettering education for our young witches and wizards in the community. I was a staff member for two years and during that time created many interesting and thought provoking classes to get students interested in the art of Divination. Now, I'm back to give continued support to the school that gave me so much during my short time on staff," he explained.

"In fact, as a Board member I feel I could be even BETTER than a staff member. I've experienced being on staff first hand and I know how tough it can be. My biggest asset would be my empathy towards the professors who are here today, taking on the task of teaching future generations. I know it can be stressful. I know it can be difficult. I've BEEN there. People who are department heads or run other positions may not have that same experience that I had. If a staff member is slacking on the job, rather than jump right to disciplinary action, we have to understand the situation. This is where I feel I'd be the best candidate for the job--I know that sometimes real life becomes overwhelming, and I'd try to get to the root of the issue. Maybe it's not that a professor is unfit or lazy--perhaps they're having marriage issues. A child with a disability or sickness. There are always two sides to every story, and I have the ability to understand both and take the best course of action," he told the crowd.

Now time to address his competition--aka, those that he could NOT stand to see in the top polls again.

"As Miss Schirmer said, and I agree as well, education is a life long commitment. There are always opportunities to learn, and it is our job to foster that love for learning in school. Prepare them adequately for the real world. I have plenty of ideas, some of which I discussed in the last debate, such as more clubs, career and internship programs, and other vital additions to the curriculum that will help us to achieve that. If you DON'T elect me, I cannot guarantee that your kids will be in safe hands and that these extra resources will be available to them. But when you elect me, Nolan Reynolds, to the Board of Governors, I will be using my creativity, personality, ability to emphasize with others, and my vast background and experience in education and leadership positions to better your children. Your children's children. ALL children will receive the education they deserve under me. " When in doubt, start talking really loudly.

"All in all..." Time to finish out strong. He flashed a dazzling smile at the crowd and hoped that the very small amount of makeup he was wearing was making his blue eyes sparkle. "It is my creativity, experience, vision and understanding that make me one of the most qualified candidates on this stage. Thank you."

And exhale.
