34. PARSELTONGUE

Alyssa's father found her whispering to something on the grass.

"What are you doing, Alyssa?" he asked.

"Shhh....Dad I'm trying to speak to it." eight year old Alyssa told her father.

"Hashish....ish." Alyssa whispered.

Her father saw what she was talking to. "Alyssa that's a worm. Are you trying to speak Parseltongue to it?"

"Yes Dad. I just told him that needed to go back into the ground before he died."

"But Sweetie, you can't speak parseltongue and it usually doesn't work on worms."

"Yeah but he doesn't know that and I figured that it's worth a try."
