41. Thestrals
Alexa’s eyes fixed on the magnificent creatures as they moved through her back yard. Seeing them used to terrify her when she was smaller, now she had come to love them. Occasionally she would go out and play with them but not tonight.

Looking at them reminded her of her first sighting. One had been walking through the garden when they got home from her mother’s funeral. It had scared her but her father was able to convince her that seeing them was an honour. She didn’t believe that at first though now they always managed to make her smile.
