Right, well it seemed as though everyone was on task and more or less finished. Good.

And it seems as though most people did bring something wooden to burn, but papers and books (as precious as they were) would also do the trick.
"So for the second part of your task today, you're going to start by burning your item into ashes... and please do this on the pavement NOT at the tables." Tables much be kept clean and ash and scorch mark free thank you very much.
"Once you have your ashes, and I suggest wearing gloves for this if you're a bit squeamish, you need to smear the substance on and around and in the cracks and crannies of your root." "Please use Incendio ONLY when burning your item and keep the flame small, we don't want you all losing your eyebrows now. Also if you're a first or second year and you haven't been taught Incendio yet, then please raise your hand and someone will help you." Meaning another student or herself... whichever came first.
