... clearly he hadn't started his assignment yet. Medea paused momentarily in having the wand movements written up on the chalkboard to look over to the youngest Odessa. On time in class today too, though a little late to speak up. No matter. "And...do you know any spells in which you could use against a zombie?"
She flicked her wand to the chalkboard again, having "Zombies" being written underneath the least as well as two spells...slowly, very slowly, spelling themselves out. They started to look like they were spelling out 'incarcerous' and 'stupefy'.
Wink wink, nudge nudge. Quote:

He looked up at the spells on the board and spotted one he's been trying to master, but with mixed results "Professor, the wand movement for Petrificus Totalus is aiming your wand at your opponent but with a quick wrist movement of a C-shaped curve, followed by a horizontal line to the right then a quick downward flick ". Not the easiest of wand movements, hence his trouble. ...
Well that was certainly the hard way of doing things.
Medea smiled. "That is, perhaps, the more difficult vay of casting the spell, though not necessarily wrong." she said, shrugging her shoulders up a little. "There's an easier vay that you can learn today if you so choose."
The easier wand movement was written next to the body-bind spell. Quote:

She took out her wand to demonstrate because she did not know how to describe the incendio wand movement and she did not know the hot air wand movement. She raised her hand the one that didnt have her wand in it. "The wand movement for Incendio is like this, " she took her wand and went up and then went back down not in the same spot though. She looked back down at the kappa notes that she had just took and raised her hand once more. She asked "How can Tergeo work on the Kappa, if it is a cleaning charm? Quote:

"The wand movement for the Hot Air Charm is two little twirls with your wand in a circular motion followed by a long, drawn-out up and down motion the length of whatever you're drying out." Rather long and elaborate for such a seemingly simple spell. One that required a lot of practice to get right, especially if you were planning on using it against a Kappa.
Glancing over when one of her fellow kappa researches asked a question, Kurumi raised her hand to respond to it. "Tergeo is a spell that can drain or remove liquids. If you aim carefully enough, you could use it to drain the water from the dent in their heads and therefore render them powerless." There was one of the questions she was expecting to come up.
And there was the answer, spoken by Kurumi. "Thank you, Miss Hollingberry." Medea nodded to the Gryffindor girl. "You are correct, though for the more inexperienced against these creatures, this particular spell should be used as a last resort. You don't vont to get closer then necessary to a kappa if you aren't absolutely confident about the outcome, but I vould still like you to learn it."
As well as improve their aim in the process. Quote:

She was hoping the young Hufflepuff would say which spell he was talking about, or else Medea would assume he was referring to all the spells. Thankfully, he did. "Thank you, Mister Stonewall." she chuckled quietly. "Though that isn't quite vot the spell movement is for that particular spell. Good try though." Quote:

Well. It wasn't. There was NOTHING relaxing about being a pretzel.
Oooh. And it seemed a few others were doing hinkypunks like she, Penelope, and Lea were. Cool.
She listened at her fellow classmates spoke. Oh! She could contribute something easy. She raised her hand slowly. (Not because she didn't want to say anything, but because she was trying to remain balanced.) "Lumos is done by just kinda raising your wand and saying the spell." And wanting light. "I would assume since lumos duo is a variation it would just work the same way." Quote:

"I remember seeing someone do that spell but it was more than just point. The person actually waved his wand to form a crescent before saying the spell. As for the Duo part I agree with Anya. You just concentrate harder on making the light target and stay on the object you want it to be on." Medea looked from Anya to Alyssa. Hmmm...
"As you progress into mastering spells, you von't be just limited to one vand movement and eventually, if you succeed vell enough...you von't need a vand movement at all." Just to clear up the air about these spell variations. "However, Lumos Duo requires a bit more than just focused concentration. While it is a variation of Lumos and seems logical to concentrate harder, and while that is true, the vand movement is a quick twirl of the vand and a sharp flick at the end. You can practice it today if you choose."
With another flick of her wand, the rest of the spells were written up on the board. Most of the answers were correct, though there was nothing wrong in being, well, wrong. They were here to learn after all. SPOILER!!: The List Giants

After the rest of the spells were written on the board, Medea stood up and addressed the entire class. "Find your creature on the board, take note of the spells that are used against them, find the vand movements for the spells, and take very good note of them because practice...starts...now."
She flicked her wand to the metal creatures behind them all, and they came alive. Some moved around them as if they were all it's prey. They growled, hissed, loomed closer, and that Hinkypunk just looked like a little fog cloud wandering around. Come on students. Up on your feet!
"Find your creature! Before it finds you! Mr. Odessa and those of you who are doing your finals on Boggarts, Werewolves, and Vampires...please stand by me. " OOC: Forgive the long, yet short lesson. The creatures will attack if you aren't quick enough, HOWEVER, the metal they are made out of has been charmed to be soft. The most injuries your character can get is by falling over on their be-hinds or if they run into one another. Hehe. If you have any questions, don't be afraid to ask IC or you can PM me.
