What are they used in? Well... "The eyes can be used in fertilizer potions, professor. I think it's because of the protein or something." she wasn't sure to be honest, she just knew that Rufin used them... Quote:

Well, it was worth a shot, right? "Urmm, are the plimpy's eyes used in a fertilizer potion?" Kat asked uncertainly. Quote:

She remembered her Grandfather teaching her a potion for fertiliser, and he had to go to the lake with Zhenya to get some Plimpies. It was fun work, trying to capture one to use. She had closed her eyes when her grandfather killed it, but she got to dig the eyes out and add them to the potion. Digging the eyes out was really gross, though. She realised she may have to dig the eyes out again, though. Zhenya drew a picture of her plimpy and labled it, that way she would know which bits are which by the way it was laying on her table.
" Yes..." She said and looked for other answers. Quote:

Theodore blinked a few times, and studied his Plimpy closer. "I dunno about potions. But they could be used for a wizarding fish pie, or something." He watched the professor with careful eyes, then buried his head low.
Fish pie. WHAT. ... " That's not an answer to my question," she said. Quote:

This repeated until finally he just about caught it but the foot.
Didn't seem the healthiest way, but at least the legs were untied.
Placing the slippery little bugger back on his desk, Dale realised he had been standing by that point and hurriedly sat down.
Ahem.
Nothing. Happened.
As Lafay spoke, he hurriedly scribbled down notes and drew a super basic version of the Frish (because saying Plimpy was ridiculous, right?). Nevertheless, he wrote PLIMPY at the top and underlined it.
Cautiously, Dale raised his hand. He was quite afraid, at this point, of being wrong. The Hufflepuff had TRIED reading ahead and reading up to this point, but he was furiously catching up with all his other subjects.
"I can't really think of anything specific, Professor, but... I guess... I mean it could be that... you know in spas? They usually have things that are in some way from or related to the sea. Like, you get seaweed wraps and stuff like that, and it kind of rejuvenates people. That could be one reason," he started to lower his hand as he added. "Or, you know, that whole 'healthy omega three' thing."
They were fish... right?
Or Dale could just be completely wrong. " What?!" she said and shook her head. " No no no, that's not a proper answer!" Quote:

Well eating fish was supposed to be good for you, yeah? Hence the whole health potion bit. But maybe it was as good for your mind as it was for your actual body. "Professor, perhaps you would find parts of the plimpy in potions that benefit one's mind...like the calming draught... because maybe fish parts are as good for your mind as they are for healing your body." " Yes, but which part!" Merling these students were being dense! " Oh forget it. It's the dorsal fin. Quote:

However, he didn't take in ANY of the logical explanation the boy gave since he was far too terrified to be processing anything at the moment as he continued to search underneath his desk for a place of safety from resurrecting plimpies.
however, his house prefect wasn't too far from his and Vickers' workbench, so when the not-as-attractive-as-Elijah-Huffer oh so helpfully corrected him, Elijah had managed to snap out of his terror for a moment to hear what he was saying. "Oh wonderful, I am so glad that at a time like this when a PLIMPY is resurrecting from the dead again you decide that the appropriate response is to correct my errors."
Who were these people? It seemed as if all of them were extremely MAD as well as unattractive.
Elijah watched with his breath held as his knight in shining armour! His saviour! went to investigate his risen-again fish. He confirmed, what everyone else probably expected, that the plimpy was, in fact, dead and Elijah must have been seeing things. "You're sure?" he asked, as his awesomely attractive face began peering up from underneath the desk once more.
Yep, it looked pretty dead...
"Thank Merlin for that. Thanks for finishing it off for me Vickers," he lied, passing it off as if it HAD been alive and Vickers and killed it for him. He didn't want to look like a complete fool, afterall. "I feared that it may have went for my nose if you hadn't stepped in there and what a waste of such an attractive nose that would be..."
Yep. Lies lies lies.
Suggest he calm down? HMPH! That was easy for her to say. She wasn't close to facing a near death experience by a plimpy come back to life... sorta. "Um, no unforgivable curses needed here ma'am, Vickers here finished him off. I think he is definitely dead now," he quickly untied the knot round the plimpy's legs. "See? Not going anywhere now."
Unforgivable curse?! This unattractive lady was EXTREME.
However, the worst was yet to come. Oh boy, yes it was, because not long after she had offered to cast illegal magic right there in front of him, than she was FLOATING her own dead plimpy corpse up in front of the board.
Sick.
"Oh gosh, Vickers. I think she is purposefully trying to make us spew," he whispered to his partner, "I am way to attractive to be spewing my insides. People would probably try and steal my vomit and sell it off in some black market because i'm sure vomit from SUCH a handsome guy would go for a few galleon."
He really didn't even want to think about what sort of potions this fish made. His stomach was unsettled enough as it was. "Vickers? If I do end up spewing, will you hold my hair back for me? I can't imagine anything worse than if I were to get sick in my hair. Not even the end of the world is that bad." ooc: assuming the last part wasn't whispered.
" There is a bucket in the back for you to spew in, Master Wilde..." She said hearing the non whispered part, " there is a charm that blows your hair back, so Master Vanderbilt can" and this she said to the other boy, "Remain. In. His. Seat." He then turned back to the Hufflepuff and said " Seeing as you are not spewing at the moment, pay attention, and make an effort to answer my questions!" Quote:

Obviously his dad had a supply of nares. That was his secret. " For... what?!" She asked. " You mean a wit sharpening potion?" Did she have to read the minds of the whole class?? " Yes... Scales are used in certain kinds of wit sharpening potions..." Quote:

That is so... classless. Come on, you can do it, you pansy! She took a deep breath, and put one finger on the plimpy, felt the slimy scales, and yanked her hand back. Her blue eyes were watering...she closed her eyes, muttered to herself, and began again. This time, she did it quickly(but also carefully, mind you!) and got it OVER WITH.
UUUUUGGGHH. How gross was that? VERY. Elliot never wanted to do that again. She took a handkerchief from her bag and wiped her hands. She then picked up her quill and notebook and began to scribble down what people were saying about making other potions, blah blah blah. Elliot wasn't very good at potions, nor interesting in this class...she was only interested in keeping her lunch in her stomach instead of letting everyone else witness it on her desk.
Gross. Gross. GROSS. This one looked as if she was ready to lose her cookies as well... She shook her head. Whatever... Kids these days didn't have the stomach for things. Quote:

So she raised her hand. "Professor is the Plimpy's scales one of the ingredients used to make the Memory Potion?" Alyssa hoped she wasn't grossly wrong. " Yes, Miss Potter." She said in a not too pleasant tone to the little tattle tale... Quote:

Smiling she sat back down just in time for Professor Lafay to began talking about the external of the Plimpy she jotted it all down and drew the picture and waited for the hard question that was sure to come! There it was...Um are the eyes used in a fertilizer potion because of the nutrients. Thats really all she knew! She hadn't memorized the ingrediants for each and every potion. None of those parts were of any use to them now.
...but it was important to know your ingredients, so Sierra assumed this was why they were learning what each part was called and what it was used for. "Maybe the eyes are used in a potion for vision," she said, raising her hand. "Like the Oculus Potion." " Yes Miss Greingoth, that is correct... but why?" Why was today's class so hard to get through? Maybe she needed a vacation... " It's because they are loaded with Vitamin D." Quote:

Right. There was a question now. Uummmm... theeeee...
She had no idea, really. So she just kept looking to the plimpy while her classmates answered. She reached out a gloved finger... poke.
Eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeek! She wrinkled her nose and grinned. Heh! " I ask a question... I expect answers..." She said. Quote:

Not sparing it to much extra attention, he turned back to his creature corpse. Funny how he was more okay in dealing with a corpse than a living thing. Meh, he'd think about that later...Now...it was time to LEARN...Yep, Indy's Ravenclaw-ness was rubbing off on him...Dylan decided would think about that later, too.
For now, Professor Lafay was levitating her own plimpy up...and making words appear. It was all very impressive. A very nice way to present something...Taking notes, he figured he could sketch this later...when they had a few minutes...Or maybe tonight when the lesson was done...
After some writing and observation of the thing, he moved to untangle the thing's legs. He was moving a bit slower than usual...trying to make sure not to break or snap anything. They looked pretty thin...It probably wouldn't have taken much force to do real damage... Ten minutes later...the Slytherin had successfully untied the legs...and was looking to the Professor for further instruction. Of course, she was describing stuff...He'd missed the first part...Erm... "I'm guessing..." Dylan tried to come up with something that would make sense. "...that they could be used for skin products...To make it look healthier."
Well, it made sense to him. His mother used some off the wall stuff on her face and body to make her skin glow. WHY NOT fishy parts? " Very good. Remember I asked WHY!" She was losing her patience now... "Because they are high in Vitamin D." She said. Quote:
Originally Posted by Steelsheen His eyes drew slowly towards the Hufflepuff when he was being THANKED for killing off the poor, helpless, already-very-dead Plimpy, shaking his head in silent protest and mortified at the thought that he had done anything to make it deader than it already was. But as the Professor drew near them again and looked to be wanting to take a bite out out his Potions partner Vickers shrank to his own side of the table and focused at his own, just-as-dead-as-the-others Plimpy.
As the lecture started he shuffled through his parchment and began scribbling, trying to get his mind to focus objectively at the task at hand. Which was no easy feat given the carcass on the tray in front of him. He wanted to bury it, although there was a part of him that was juuuust a bit curious at how the insides of a Plimpy were all connected together.
The Professor asked a question, and heard the first thought of it being used as fertiliser being suggested. Just then he heard Elijah whisper about SPEWING. Again, his eyes slid slowly to towards the Hufflepuff and with an audible gulp whispered back "Sure, I'll keep your hair from getting into your own spew." Now whether Vickers can keep that curly head out of his own sympathetic spewing is another matter altogether.
Thinking and talking about spewing is making his own stomach doing flip flops. Hand shoots up in the air "Professor, would the fins be used with potions that help with motion sickness?" because he could really use some right about now.
And now there was a commotion about Lewis. Well around him rather, since Lewis himself has gone catatonic and Louisa looking to be at a verge of panic. He spotted the other Hufflepuff boy (Dale) peering closer to them.
Lewis being all unmoving. Like their Plimpies.
This was something contagious innit? Cue hiding his his nose behind his sleeves and scraping his seat AWAY from Lewis, the Plimpies and just everybody in general. " Yes Vanderbilt." She said " That is a good answer." Quote:
Originally Posted by Lislchen Jonathan. Lewis almost winced when he heard Louisa actually say the name out loud. It was like she wanted to rub it in or something. Yes, he was VERY MUCH! aware of the fact that the Slytherin was sitting next to Kurumi. Or Kurumi was sitting next to him rather. And not by choice. It was just because there simply had been no other seat available. So it wasn't like either of them had chosen this. Or seemed too happy about it.
Only why did he still want to throw one of the Plimpy's legs at Jonathan?!
Hearing her chuckle made him turn in his seat again to narrow his eyes at the Ravenclaw next to him. "What's so funny?" Did she think the two sitting next to each other was laughable or something? Because it wasn't. Like, at all. Before he focused on the creature in front of him he glanced back over at the other desk just in time to catch Jonathan's smirk. And while he wasn't exactly any good at ready facial expressions, this one was very clear. The Slytherin did seem to enjoy this. For whatever reason.
Once he was done untangling the Plimpy's legs, Lewis reached for his wand to clean his hands before reaching for his quill. Right, maybe he should have worn the gloves - like Louisa. FOCUS LEWIS! Noting what he'd done so far - which wasn't a lot - on his notebook, the Hufflepuff turned his attention back to the front. Not without allowing his eyes to rest on Kurumi and Jonathan again for a LONG! moment. Was the Slytherin now closer to Kurumi than before?! Lewis narrowed his eyes at them as he tried to remember how close they had been a few moments ago. Luckily for all of them his attention was caught by another Hufflepuff who was basically SCREAMING for attention. Literally. And who had something to say in reply when Lewis corrected him. Which puzzled him somewhat, making him forget all about Kurumi and Jonathan for a moment. "It's dead." He replied slowly as if he was talking to a child. His eyes flicked to the creature on the desk again to give it a pointed look. See, there. It doesn't get much deader.
The way the boy had worded his reply confused him a little as well. He had...thanked him? Yes? Had he? Or not? HUH!?
---
But back to Professor Lafay.
She made a lot more sense than this Hufflepuff guy AND WAS PRETTIER THAN HIM!
Sort of making a rough sketch of a Plimpy, he labeled the parts according to what the professor was telling them. Right. In case they would need it later. Scratching his chin with the end of his quill, Lewis cocked his head slightly to the side as he stared down at the Plimpy in front of him, thinking about Professor Lafay's question. What other parts could be used in which potions and why? Since most of the other students had already said the obvious one - Plimpy eyes for fertilizer - he didn't really want to say that as well. Hmm.
He had never worked with Plimpies before - except for their eyes - so he wasn't entirely sure. Hesitantly, Lewis raised his hand and started to reply, "Maybe the legs could be used in some sort of strength po-" Only he just stopped talking right in the middle of his sentence for no apparent reason. His body had completely stopped moving, one hand still in the air, his gaze still straight ahead on the professor and his mouth still hanging open slightly as if somebody had cast a stunning spell on him right in the middle of his word. " Right..." but the boy... fell asleep? " Master Rasting? Master Rasting?!" Quote:

Louisa was listening to Lewis talking with her eyes on him when he suddenly... froze. The girl's previously-happy expression was wiped off her face and was replaced with fear. "Lewis?" She swallowed and frantically looked at Lafay for a moment, DID YOU SEE HIM FREEZE TOO? Louisa returned her gaze on the boy sitting next to her and wanted to shake him... but didn't. What if he crumbled down under her touch? D: "Professor!! He's not moving!" Her voice trembled just a bit, this had happened before! She remembered Kurumi in Divination.
"LEWIS?" " I see that..." She said rolling her eyes.
... this did now seem self induced...
She pointed her wand at the ground and sent a small jolt of electricity to the boy's feet. Enough to wake someone from sleep, but not enough to cause any sort of damage.
" Did anyone do this to him? Some sort of prank? Come out now and your punishment won't be as severe if I have to test each and everyone of your wands..."
