"Hey Professor Hadley!" Ella said cheerfully on her way by the desk. Her eyes then traveled to the board behind her professor. Well first things first, Ella went and found a seat in the middle of the classroom. Next she removed her text, parchment, and quill and waited for class to start. Josephina heard footsteps and looked up to see a young second year as the first to enter the classroom. She smiled briefly with a polite 'hello', as the girl took her seat. Quote:

Usually she was fine until November when the castle became drafty and wintery.
Oh well. She'd manage. She'd just run up to get her cloak later during the day if it didn't warm up later.
She then glanced up at the board. She dug into her bag and placed her textbook, parchment, quill, and ink on the desk. Alright. Lesson time. Chilly? Actually, she felt kind of warm. But maybe it had something to do with the fact that her sister, her lovely sister, had decided to move back to the Northern Hemisphere and didn't TELL her of her plans until after school started!!! Granted she didn't voice any of that.
Instead she simply forced a smile for Anya too. "Hello dear. Chilly? No, not really. It's actually comfortable." Yes, she did enjoy the breezy air, even if it created a few Goosebumps. Quote:

Alyssa and then looked around to see whether any of her friends were around. She smiled when she saw Ella was already in class.
So she walked up to Ella and whispered,"Hi Ella is it okay if I join you?" Alyssa hoped that Ella wouldn't mind. She sat down and took out her textbook, quill and parchments and waited for class to start. "Hello Alyssa," Fina said, looking toward the fourth year, noticing she seemed ... upset with her. She felt bad, slightly, but ... the girl needed to know it was for her benefit. The balancing act. She would be better off for it, she knew. Quote:

Which basically meant Penelope was probably going to fail miserably once again since she HADN'T read the textbook. She'd been trying to read her books, of course - she'd certainly made a valiant attempt recently to read the one for the creatures class - but she'd gotten bored and hungry and decided she'd much rather go get something to eat in the Great Hall.
So yeah, she was just going to hope she could get away with just staring at a wall and that there wouldn't be any spells to perform. Unless it was Lumos, because that was the one spell she could definitely do now.
Luck was never on her side though.
So she simply entered the classroom silently and sat at the desk closest to the door. That way she could escape leave the classroom faster once it was over and go down to the Great Hall for something to eat. She was already hungry again. Another girl - unfamiliar though she was - took a seat near the door. Obviously new to Arithmancy. Obviously scared and nervous.
Giving her a comforting smile, she then looked toward her next greeter. Quote:

"Good day, Professor Hadley," he greeted with a smile as he entered the classroom and noted her presence behind her desk. His mood had certainly improved with the passing of days since the quidditch match. Leaving the professor be, the prefect crossed to a desk and took a seat before doing as the note on the board said, taking out his textbook and supplies from his bag to prepare for the beginning of the class. "Good day, Gideon," Fina noted and then noticed something she probably should have picked out sooner. Well she KNEW he was one, but she hasn't actually SEEN the Prefect Badge pinned onto his robes before that moment. Granted she hadn't really seen the sixth year either. Besides from a distance. She give him a congratulatory smile; he seemed to deserve it well enough. Quote:

She found the empty seat and took out her book, parchment, and quill to be ready for when her house mom was ready to start class. Josephina turned toward the next incoming student; Minerva, who's hair was differently coloured now. "Hello Minerva," she said, smiling, and deterred from her question. "Love the new hair color." Mmhm Quote:

Seeing that the Professor looked rather preoccupied he wondered if she was aware "Professor, do you wish for me to close some of the windows?" Oh and another bright smile greeted her! "Good morning, Vickers," She smiled back at him, but then blinked at his question. Was he trying to say it was chilly in here or something? She looked around at the other students a moment. Only Anya had voiced something, but still, she wasn't really chilly. Besides, the chilly air would keep their minds agile and awake. "It's not raining, is it?" she asked curiously, glancing toward the windows. "Then no. We wouldn't want anyone falling asleep from it getting too warm in here." Quote:

He looked for some seats to sit by and saw Alyssa, Ella, and Minerva all sitting by each other. He looked to see if there was one more open sit nearby and found one by them, but one row back. He looked twice to see that it was a window seat. I can tough it out He thought. It's not all to cold. He pulled out his chair and gave the three girls a smile. He removed his Textbook, parchment and Quills next laying them out in front of him to begin class. "Hi Oakey," she noted, looking for some hint that maybe either he found his lucky charm or that bad luck wasn't befalling upon him, like he thought it would. Another one complaining of the chilly air? "Not really, no. Besides, a bit of chill air will be good for you in your thinking process" Quote:

She first greeted the professor, "Hello Professor Hadley!" she chirped excitedly, "Nice to see you again."
Looking around, Ira smiled and waved a small hello to Alyssa and Minerva. And instinctively turned to a rather excited Gryffindor. Well someone consumed sugar for breakfast. Smiling at the excitable lion, she nodded in agreement. "Likewise, Miss Wilson," she noted. Text Cut: Three Snakes Quote:

Walking inside the room, their was directions written on the board. Looking at the professor, Jonathan gave out a smile as he walked in front to take a seat in the front area. "Good day Professor" he greeted. He then placed his bag on his lap as soon as he sat down, took out his book, parchment and quill. Quote:

"Hello Professor" she said politely before taking a seat near the front, but not in the very first row. She just wanted to see, not get called on for everything.
She took out all her materials and arranged them on her desk. This class was all about math right? Well this would be interesting. And she actually wasn't being sarcastic for once, she liked math. Although she had a feeling that might change after this.. She'd just have to wait and see. Quote:

The first year found the closest seat he could find, pulled out his stuff, and waited for the lesson. Next three Slytherins walked in.... varying ages, Josephina was sure of that much.... Jonathan she knew. The other two, were young and this was likely their first experience with Arithmancy.
Smiling at them each in turn, she noted a brief 'Hello' to each of them. Quote:

She probably was going to need to sneak that back into her father's closet when she went back home during the holidays, andfind something new to carry around, but for now it was her warmth. And she'd slipped it out as she'd stepped into Arithmancy, sliding her arms inside the sleeves while she walked toward an empty seat. She wasn't about to complain to the professor, after all.
"Bonjour, Professor Hadley," she greeted the woman, looking at her a bit curiously as she seemed to be off in a trance or something. Maybe that explained why it was so cool inside the room, and she finished putting the cardigan on under her robes after she'd set her bag down on the floor by her feet. She'd be warm, and still not out of uniform. Then she leaned over to pull her textbook out, along with parchment, quill and ink, settling in to wait for class to begin. Hopefully the professor snapped out of whatever was going on by then. Ah and then another girl entered, who greeted her with a 'Bonjour' instead of hello. Something she was tempted to reply back with a 'Ciao', but decided against it. "Hello, Miss Gardiner," she said, noting she brought a cardigan with her. Smart girl. Quote:

"Hey, Professor!" she said, smiling, and waited for the lesson to begin. "Hello," Fina said, noticing another student, one who seemed rather .... excited about Arithmancy, judging from her enthusiasm. They shall see if the enthusiasm lasts. Quote:

She wasn't really in the mood to calculate anything but, by sitting in the front, she hoped it'll help her concentrate better. And a familiar student again. Lots of new and familiar students alike, it seemed. "Hello dear," she said, noting as the Slytherin took a seat near the front. Quote:

Shrugging, Kurumi made her way to the front of the room and set her things down before looking at Professor Hadley. "Good day, Professor Hadley," Kurumi said with a faint smile, her gaze drifting to the seat next to her. She looked back towards Professor Hadley now and tried to figure out what sort of expression that was on her face. "Everything...alright, professor?" she asked as she lowered her voice, just in case the woman didn't want to have any attention brought to her.
Sitting down, Kurumi glanced at the seat beside her. The seat that had always been his seat. Treyen's seat. He had sat next to her almost every lesson since she was a first year and now...it was empty. Treyen had graduated and was off being incredible elsewhere, as he should be. Still didn't prevent a small frown from appearing on her lips as she began to set her textbook, parchment, and quills on the table. Ah and there was the other Gryffindor Prefect; the one she knew would be here. After her incredible OWL scores. Numbers were the girl's sanity. "Morning, Kurumi," she smiled, but then blinked at the quiet voice of what she asked next. "Yes? No? I'm not really sure ...." she answered, actually honest, for the first time.
But then again, same could be said for the girl, as she looked at the seat beside her. The same seat that a former prefect of hers sat in. Quote:

Dumping his stuff at one of the tables nearer the front of the room (hey, he wanted to catch up and sitting at the back would make him very distracted), Dale got out the book and his writing stuff before leaning his elbows on the desk, face on his hands, and then twirled his quill between his fingers.
Contemplation. This was the time for it. Still perplexed, she looked over toward another student who entered. The other Upstead kid who had found his way to her office not too long ago. Who seemed .... content? Contemplative?
Shrugging, she looked toward another Hufflepuff who entered at the same moment.... Quote:

As she was glancing over her old notes, she noticed it was a bit cooler in this room than it usually was. She pulled her house scarf from her bag and wrapped it around her neck. Brrrrrrrrr. "Morning," she greeted to the young Hufflepuff, wondering if perhaps the other three had been right? Was it TOO cold in the room? She wanted it chilled, but not freezing and although SHE didn't think it was . . . Quote:

Offering the Professor a weak greeting, he set about getting his materials ready. She gave a responsive greeting of a friendly smile toward the Slytherin next, who honestly seemed like he'd rather be elsewhere. Quote:

"Hello and welcome to another year of Arithmancy," Josephina began, but then looked toward a few of those who this would be their first Arithmancy lesson ever. "Or for those of you who this will be your first Arithmancy lesson, welcome. I'm Professor Hadley," and obviously the Arithmancy Professor.
Alright, introductions aside. "In past lessons, we've pretty much worked with one type of Numerological System. But there are two type of numerology systems in existence. What are the two types of systems?" Nice simple question to get them started....
