"I'ts not exactly his language but yes, he could speak the language and he did transfer it to Harry Potter." Scabior nodded.

She took a breath and stopped there. Tay started braiding her hair, waiting on the professor to reply back and for the other students to talk.
Yup. "Correct." Scabior nodded.

No doubt if it caught the man's attention for the better it might be used by him. At the next question, the 5th year thought about it, trying to remember what made the openers special explaining one of the reasons of the several decade gap between openings. Finally it came to him, a connection to Slytherin and the house's model creature.

"It could only be opened by someone who was a parselmouth," he answered after raising his hand. "Someone who spoke to snakes."

Not many people would know a Parselmouth and be able to copy the sound.

She paused for a moment. "Also, most parselmouths are in the house of Slytherin, Salazar Slytherin's house, but Harry Potter was able to open it because he was able to speak parselmouth at the time."

Now about the entrance..., she started thinking, as she drew her attention back to the Professor.

'It can only be opened at the command in Parseltongue' Something like 'open'. Wait a second- were they talking about the entrance at the sink?, Gwendolyn thought as she gave a quick look in that direction. Or at the door which is said to be under the bathroom? Err... this started to become confusing, so Gwen tried waiting patiently for the Professor's reply.

He nodded, correct about the snake language.

"Yes and no." He shrugged. "The chamber was only thought to be open be a parselmouth but to be one you do not have to be related to Salazar Slytherin."

She remembered the story of him and Hermione Granger entering the Chamber of Secrets in their Seventh Year. Neither of them could speak Parseltongue.

HA! And then...he was POINTING at her. POINTING. Yep, it was coming. Kurumi half way squinted her eyes and braced for impact.

And it never came.

YAY! Oh, not to worry there, professor. Kurumi was writing all that down.

When he asked the next question, Kurumi thought for a moment, pretty sure that she had sort of hinted at an answer to that one earlier in an answer she had given elsewhere. The notion of a no danger chamber had the Gryffindor at ease. Sort of. So she raised her hand again. "To open the Chamber you would need to be a Parselmouth. Considering that this is a very rare and typically hereditary gift, the number of people that would be able to do so would be very small if any at all. However, it IS possible for someone without the gift to imitate it and open it, as was the case during the Battle of Hogwarts." Because, Ronald Weasley was certainly not related to Salazar Slytherin in any way shape or form - the man did not have red hair for one.
"Miss Reinhart and Miss Hollingberry both bring up an important point." That he was going to get to, but he didn't mind.

------------

"As most of you said, if someone did find the chamber it would have been almost impossible for them to open it unless they spoke Parseltongue. A rare language that involves speaking to snakes-therefore being able to speak and control the Basilisk." He paused, note taking time. Good, right? "It was a language that Slytherin, Riddle and Harry Potter could speak. However, just like Miss Reinhart and Miss Hollingberry pointed out, the chamber was opened a third time."

That information wasn't known by everyone, but it wasn't hard to find out. "And by someone who wasn't even a Parselmouth. During the battle of Hogwarts, Ron Weasley was able to open the chamber by mimicking what he had heard from Harry Potter. So it was then that it was figured out that you did not need to be a Parselmouth to open the chamber, you only had to be able to mimic the language. And with that-" Scabior sighed before walking over to the broken tap with the engraved snake. He took a deep breath before a strange hissing sound escaped. He waited a few seconds but nothing happened. He waited before trying again, the hissing sound a bit louder.

A loud clunking sound came from the sink and Scabior took a step back. The top of the sinks lifted up and the sinks began to slowly spread apart. The main skin began to descend into the ground before it was covered creating a clear path into the dark hole. "Right, so light your wands and jump in."

That was right, they were heading into the Chamber of Secrets.

OOC: Technically the lesson is over The next part is only a scavenger hunt which is your homework (though IC your charrie only has an hour in there). If you want to do it just RP your charrie jumping down the hole to the chamber in here and then post in the other thread.
