"Correct! And good on you too Miss Bishop for being able to sum it up so perfectly." It was one of those odd times that firsts years actually gave him hope. Quote:

The Gryffindor didn't know everything about Harry Potter, but he knew enough to get him by--but it was still far from a lot. "Sir, since Voldemort put his soul in the diary, could he use it to influence someone else to open the chamber or somehow come out of it and do it himself?" Horcruxes were confusing, he hadn't read much about them in his textbooks. Scabior ndoded. "Right you are Mr. Goldstein." He wouldn't correct him, that would only lead to spending the next 20 minutes talking about Horcruxes, and the boy was basically right. Quote:

Jotting down more notes and filling in the blank spaces on her timeline, Kurumi looked up when the class moved on. That was...a rather BROAD question right there. It became a key part in opening it? It certainly became a key part to understanding what was going on in the Second Wizarding War as well. Thinking for a few moments, Kurumi raised her hand to offer up an answer. "As a horcrux, it was able to use magical influence to possess and force Ginny Potter to try and finish the work that Voldemort had been unable to finish before his first fall. The diary was able to do this because Ginny was able to communicate with the memory of the sixteen-year-old Tom Riddle left in the diary by writing on its pages. The closer the one came to memory the more power he had over them." Kurumi lowered her hand now and braced for impact. It was a much longer answer than she had been giving these days...
*gulp* Scabior just stared for a few seconds before pointing at Kurumi. "Hope you heard that class, probably be best to write it all down, I won't be repeating all that." Thanks Hollingberry. Now he could easily put some of that on an exam. SPOILER!!: Rest of the answers :) Quote:

But now was another question... Lily raised her hand to answer the question, trying to find a way to simplify the answer. "The diary became a way for Tom Riddle's soul piece to control Ginny Weasley and re-open the chamber, allowing Tom to continue the work that he had been unable to do while he was at school." There... that was simple enough, right? [QUOTE=FireboltAvis88;10927339]Alyssa sighed when the Professor addressed her answer with his regular sarcasm. But she was determined to carry on. So she thought carefully before raising her hand to answer.
" Because Tom Riddle had placed part of his soul into the diary, he was able to control the thoughts of someone who first opened it. Through this person, he was able to open the chamber again and unleash the Basilisk. The more the person, in this case Ginny Weasley, wrote in the diary, the stronger Riddle's soul became because he was basically siphoning off her life source.". Quote:

Through the diary, 16 year old self Tom was able to communicate with Ginny and sort of..hypnotized her into re-opening the chamber once more I guess. Tom was basically using her life source which had almost depleted her if Harry Potter had not saved her." Quote:

"The diary controlled a vulnerable person in order to open the chamber and let people know that the chamber was going to be opened. Once Harry Potter - the person Tom Riddle most wanted to control - found the diary, Tom found a way to lure Harry into the Chamber. He did this with the vulnerable person he had under his control. Tom used her strength as his... he took it from her." Vlimia paused for breath. "Tom Riddle was dangerously close to becoming fully alive once again, but Harry Potter destroyed the diary with a basilisk fang." She said. Quote:

She found herself raising her hand even before her answer fully formed in her mind. "The diary was a horcrux, so it had part of Riddle's soul in it," Sierra pointed out. "The diary ended up in Ginny Weasley's hands, and she communicated with Riddle through the diary." Sierra paused and made a slight face. That communication just creeped her out. "It was through this connection that Riddle, or Voldemort by then, convinced Ginny to reopen the Chamber." Quote:

"Well, it's Tom's bit of soul inside the diary who possed Ginny Weasley into opening the Chamber for the second time. He spoke the Parseltounge thing through her, opened the Chamber for the Basilisk to come out and Petrified Muggleborns and a Half Blood along the way. He also contacted Harry Potter through the Diary for a short while, before Ginny took it back again."
Harry Potter. Why does that sound so familiar? Janice thought. Right. Beatrix Potter, the famous Muggle writer. Quote:

So when he asked about the Chamber of Secrets and the diary that opened it, Selina's hand rose in the air, "Sir, the diary held a piece of Tom Riddle's soul in it, which manipulated Ginny Potter to open the Chamber of Secrets. The diary was hers, so every time she wrote in the piece of Tom Riddle would instruct her on things to do to open the Chamber." Kind of creepy actually. "All of you are correct in some shape and form." He nodded. "Good job" ------------ Almost done the learning part of the lesson. Great. "So," Scabior looked around the class "Ginny Potter possessed by Tom Riddles soul, via the diary was able to open the chamber and release the Basilisk once more. It caused a lot of harm petrifying students and even Sir Nicholas de Mimsy-Porpington and once again almost resulted in the closing of Hogwarts."
He took a large breath. The students had basically said it all for him. "Harry Potter came and was able to do his hero thing at twelve years old, and destroying the diary and the Basilisk, rendering both the diary and the chamber useless." With no giant monster the Chamber of Secrets wasn't anything dangerous. "Now lets say between the first and second opening, that someone was actually able to find the entrance to the Chamber. Why would it have been nearly impossible to open it?" This was the 'you had to read your textbooks for this' type of question.
