Judging by the look on most of the students faces, they seemed to think this was pretty 'cool', granted, it was! Or at least she certainly thought so. Greenhouse five was one of her favourites, but she wasn't like most people. The class probably wouldn't agree with her by the end of the lesson.

Kurumi didn't mind too much to be honest, but Professor Bentley need only ask and the prefect was sure that a horde of Hufflepuffs students would be more than willing to assist.

Cleaning up her station and doing one last check on her fireseed bush, asking the ivy to move just a bit so that it was in total darkness again, Kurumi squeaked when it was explained where they would be going next. But...wasn't greenhouse 5 off limits to students for...good reason? Kurumi had the sinking feeling that she was going to be seeing more of Xavier's kind soon.

Kurumi had a bad feeling about this. It was the sort of feeling that made the hairs on the back of her neck stand on end and like a cold chill to run down her spine. Don't touch anything...probably best to not breathe if she could help it and when she did it really really small breaths and only through the nose.

Nodding, Kurumi waited for Professor Bentley to lead them in. "Professor Bentley, should we all have our protective gear on before we enter?" Just to be safe. Dragon hide gloves and goggles might come in handy. That...and the all important question, should they have their wands out and ready? Hopefully, all this was conveyed with the prefect's violet eyes.
"Yes, gloves on, I wouldn't bother with goggles.. it's best to have your eyes unobstructed in here." Because the plants in here weren't going to bother with eyes, no they had their own methods.
"Your wands should be at the ready though, just in case," she added, indicating her own.

When the Crazy Ravenclaw Captain at the time had dragged him all the way to the greenhouses and attempted to feed him to the Snargaluff. Oakey was lucky he never laid eyes on the plant but he had gained a fear for the plant ever since.
... Uhhh... this was going to be awkward, why hadn't she thought to talk to Oakey first?

"Well... see... that's exactly what we're working with," she said slowly, unsure of how the Badger would react. He wasn't going to cry, or scream or faint... was he?

Looking up at the rest of the class as well, she continued. "Our last activity for the day is extracting Snargaluff pods. It is crucial that you pay attention to what you are doing, before we go in, remember those ground rules, don't wander around or touch anything that you shouldn't... I keep this greenhouse locked for a reason."

Speaking of which, she should probably UNlock it now. Fumbling a little with her collection of keys, Seren finally managed to unlock two of the locks, she then lifted a protective charm from the door as well, whispering the counter spell under her breath.

"Now file in neatly and quietly please, we don't want to startle anything."

As she opened the door, a stretch of empty space could be seen just inside. A safe haven perhaps? a distance away from this space were two gnarled stumps. They looked safe and harmless, but they were deceptive for sure.

Once the students had assembled into a nice cosy group in front of her, she closed the door--unlocked-- and turned back to the class.
"Can anybody tell me HOW we extract Snargaluff pods?" she asked pointing over at the stumps.

OOC: the actual activity will begin in approx 24 hours (depending on when I get out of my doctors appt tomorrow) this is the last question of the lesson, so have fun with it. And remember not to touch anything (;
