Reid was silent on the plane to Los Angeles from Washington, staring out the window instead of looking at his parents. If he looked at them he would cry. His brother, his twin, was gone. Reid felt as if his soul had been ripped from his body due to the pain he felt.

His mother had called the move a new beginning. A beginning forced on them by the untimely death of his brother, and on Reid by parents who ran from the past.
