Default egg project post #2 (and possibly the start to a new RP with Amanda)
Shoe!Girl │ Rebel Ravie │ Confundus Queen │ RP Addict

How did it get to February already?, Stella wondered as she took a seat at the Ravenclaw table to get some breakfast before classes started for the day. It wasn't too far into the month, but far enough that she needed to find Matt at some point during the day to wish him happy birthday. Not right now, though, because breakfast was more important right now. Energy for the day and all that. Setting her bag in her lap as she reached over to serve herself some scrambled eggs and choose a piece of toast, she glanced down as she felt her bag tremble. That was odd, especially since she knew Lyra was still curled up on her bed asleep. There shouldn't be anything else in her bag that would move, not that much. Just her egg for Charms, and she'd made sure Oberon was happy before she'd headed downstairs.

Toast was going to have to wait, it seemed, and she set the knife she'd picked up in order to spread some jam down to look inside her bag. Sure enough, the little scarf bundle that was her protected egg was almost vibrating. Pulling it out and unwrapping the scarf so she could check on Oberon, she rearranged the scarf to create a little nest and set the whole thing on the table next to her plate. "What's wrong, Oberon?," she asked quietly, reaching a finger out to touch the metal surface of the trembling egg and quickly pulling it back before her skin could stick to it. It was freezing. Way colder than she knew Oberon liked it, which was mystifying seeing as the egg had been wrapped in a scarf. It should have been warmer than even she was right now, but then, apparently not.

She needed to fix things before she could go back to her food, so she let her wand slip in to her hand. A swish and tap later, she cast. "Argentum calidus." Holding back with the charm so the surface of the egg didn't get too warm, she returned her wand to its holster before eyeing the egg again. "Better, Oberon?" The egg at least wasn't trembling anymore, which was good, but it looked a little tarnished. Taking her wand out yet again, she carefully spoke again, tracing the surface of her egg. "Excolo." Once the egg was all sparkly and happy, she sighed. Finally she could get back to her food, but she left Oberon on the table just in case. She'd have to return the egg to her bag before she headed to class, but for now, it could hang out on the table. The scarf wouldn't let it go anywhere.
