This is done in Snapes P.O.V

“And again Elle,” said Snape, his voice void of any emotion. After days of practice and more practice Snape finally had Ellouise defending wandlessly, both of them standing at opposite ends of the attic facing each other as if it were a staring competition. Determination was etched on Elle’s face, her eyes bright with anticipation.
Snape focused his attention on something beyond the glow in Ellouise’s eyes, something deeper, something closer to her soul, almost as if he was looking straight through her. Nothing, he couldn’t see anything, he couldn’t hear anything, he couldn’t feel anything. A smirk played across his lips.
“You’re getting good at this. But the real test will come at the most unexpected of times,” he said, bowing to his pupil. Ellouise returned the bow, a similar smirk on her lips.
“I had a good teacher,” she replied closing the gap between them in two swift strides.
“Lunch?” she asked an eyebrow raised.

Looking out the small window for a second Severus decided he could afford to spend another hour or so here. He was in good company, what with the talented Ellouise and... the others.
“I suppose I can spare another hour,” he said gesturing for Ellouise to take the lead.
Together they moved down the flight of stairs swiftly and silently, like bats in the night. The walk to the kitchen was a short one, and Severus couldn’t help but hold his breath, hoping that she would be there. Even if things were different now, he still enjoyed her company, just being in the same room as her lifted his spirits. His eyes flew along the length of the table and stopped at the small group of people who were seated at one end of it, James, Sirius, Xavier, Remus, Naomi... but there was no Lily. Ellouise hadn’t hesitated at the door like he had, she was already amongst them, taking a seat between Remus and Xavier. She gestured for him to join them. He didn’t want to, there was no reason for him to be there, not with them and without her. But his legs betrayed his mind, and they moved effortlessly forward, bringing him to a halt when he reached the group. Instead of uttering a greeting he just bowed his head and took a seat beside Remus, the lesser of all evils.
“Severus, how have you been?” asked Remus in an effort to make conversation.
“I’ve been well... and yourself?”
Merlins beard this is uncomfortable! Though Severus as he locked eyes with James and Sirius.
“Oh, yes I’ve been well. The usual really,” chuckled Remus. What did he find so amusing?
Complete silence followed, the only sounds that could be heard were the ones coming from the stove where Kreacher laboured away preparing dinner.
“How’s your training going?” Xavier asked Ellouise, Severus shifted in his seat, his eyes flickering to the couple. Why she was with him he had no idea. All Blacks were the same, arrogant and naive. He blocked out the rest of the conversation. After downing a glass of gillywater Severus rose from his seat.
“I’ll be in touch Elle,” he said in his usual monotonous voice.
She nodded in response, “Thanks Severus.”
Severus... a name that was not often said with such kindness. He offered Ellouise a genuine smile, it may have been crooked and the light may not have reached his eyes, but that was the best he could do. The muscles in his cheeks burned with the effort of contracting.

“Off so soon Sniv... eehhh Severus,” barked Sirius, James snorted.
Severus could hear the blood pounding in his ears, his lips curled up in distaste.
“Unlike some of you I have things I need to do... things that will actually make a positive impact on the war against the Dark Lord.” Lazy twats... what did they ever do for the order aside from sit in the kitchen and drink? They should take a leaf out of Elle’s book, at least that girl was trying to do something to help... anything to help.
Satisfied that the mutt and his side kick didn’t have anything else to add to their weak attempts at insulting him, he turned on his heal and briskly wandered back through the kitchen to the stairs.
