So its been a while since I posted....
But here's a little snippet of the next chapter... I was planning on posting more but I'm sleepy so this'll have to do.

Enjoy!

“So... are you back for good then?” asked Xavier as he took a seat beside Ellouise, dropping his arm around her shoulder.
“Nope”, was Regulus’s response. He considered his friends and family for a moment before continuing. “There’s lots to be done, you can’t even begin to imagine. I’m heading back out the day after tomorrow.”
Ellouise could feel Xavier slump lower in his seat, this news clearly was not what he had expected. But the news wasn’t very definitive, it had no real substance. What was all this about?
“Forgive me... but what is it you’re doing exactly?” There, she had said it. Asked the crucial question. Everyone had been thinking it, there wasn’t a sound in the room now. Everyone’s eyes were plastered on Regulus, curious, waiting for his answer.
“Uh... well, I’m... uh, doing some investigating and sorts,” replied Regulus, his voice faltering slightly as his brain worked to create some story.
“Investigating what exactly?” she continued, pressing for more answers. Regulus was ready this time.
“Keeping an eye on the death eaters, tracking their movements... at least that’s what we’re trying to do. My job is to find a way to infiltrate the Dark Lords ranks, even deeper than Snape has. In the end, it should just be a matter of divide and conquer.”
Ellouise exchanged a glance with Xavier, he seemed satisfied with the response, but Ellouise wasn’t. Something didn’t quite add up.

Within a matter of minutes the mood had returned to one of a party, fire whiskey was being passed around once more, and Kreacher prepared a small feast to mark the occasion. He seemed quite fond of Regulus, his usual sulky, moping, vile mood was replaced with one of cheer and amusement, even love. Having had enough of festivities and certainly having had enough of fire whiskey, Ellouise returned to her room. There was something she needed to do, something that had been put off for long enough. She needed answers, she needed clues... she needed hope.

Closing the door behind her she made sure it was locked and secured. Taking her wand she cast Muffliato at the door, she wasn’t sure what to expect, but she needed the privacy and leaving the House wasn’t an option. Rushing around the room she searched for the item... the thing... the bearer of hope, or disappointment- she wasn’t sure yet. But something was drawing her to it. She found it, deep in the pocket of her coat, where she had left it, along with a bunch of photographs. She tossed them aside, focused intently on the box and its mysterious contents she settled herself on top of her covers. Smoothing out some of the creases instinctively. How was she going to get in? The swirly black pattern engraved on the reddish-brown wood of the box intrigued her, it didn’t look as if it was merely for decorative purposes. Was it a message? Was there some sort of significance to it? Ellouise wasn’t sure.

She ran her fingers over the grooves, exploring the engravings, the swirls, the crest, her family name, the double headed eagle with its wings poised for flight. Why was her family coat of arms on the box? Did it have something to do with what was inside?
Ellouise released a sigh, she didn’t even know if there was anything inside, but she had to find out.
