Aha!
His full name? Sigh. But it was soooo long!
Unfair.
Either way, the young Hufflepuff took his parchment and started to write in it. He had very few choices, truth be told. Either do as Hadley says, or don't do at all.
Okay. He had 1,2,3...er, no 4s...5,6,7,8,9.
The 4 was missing. His eyes turned to the textbook to search what it could possibly mean...and...the textbook read...
Ha. He was FROWNING, okay, he had no idea what this meant. He especially frowned at the 'hard work' part, since he was...a Hufflepuff! Another frowning student? Seriously, why did they have to take their missing numbers so seriously? "Oh Treyen... just because you're missing the number four in your birth name doesn't take away who you are. Remember that with karmic lessons, its about experiences you've been through and will address, but not about who you are." Difference there! Quote:

"I've read that the number 10 is considered the most perfect of numbers because it then includes the beginning and the end, the power and the force, the life and the nothing as is represented by the numbers 1 and 0." "Precisely! The number ten is good or positive karma. It is often symbolic of the beginning, or rebirth, like you've mentioned for us!" Fina said, smiling at the girl. At least someone seemed to understand this. Evelyn? You have competition . . . Quote:

Jacob gave a huge frown when he started reading what each one meant. he didn't even bother putting his hand up. "Professor, none of this makes sense. They mean nothing to what we really are." mostly because Jacob is a Ravenclaw and no amount of Arithimancy was going to refute that!
Yup, Jacob was most Definetly gonna drop this next term. There was no way he was going to sit here while the professor told him lies about himself! "And Anyways, How do you Rework Responsibility through love?" Just made mo sense What so ever. Josephina shook her head at the boy who still didn't seem to understand this. "As I mentioned to your classmate, Mister Lockhart, these are about experiences you are confronted with, not you as a person. There's a distinct line between the two. But if you still are having confusion, then I'd love for you to consult with me privately about it." Because you know, she could then spend more time trying to explain to Jacob Blunt that he was still a Ravenclaw. And that Arithmancy wasn't silly. But for now, they had to move on. Excuse you Treyen and your charming smile. "So basically you're going to determine if you have any karmic debts which may show up as your birthday number, maturity number, or one of your core numbers. Spend the next thirty minutes calculating these numbers by yourselves or with a partner, if you desire. And please raise your hand if you get stuck or confused on a calculation." Text Cut: For your reference, Professor Hadley's calculations

*Karmic Debt! ooc: As you can see from my calculations, before I reduced the final digit, Hadley had some of the numbers we're looking for as karmic debt numbers. Which again, are 10, 13, 14, 16, or 19.
Feel free to work through these calculations in one post or five or six posts. Work with a partner and discuss if you like.
You have officially until about 10am EST (GMT-4) on Sunday morning to work through these, or you risk not getting participation points for this activity. Term end is fast approaching which means I need SOME time to enter the points in.
Any questions? PM or nudge me on msn if OOC ; post "Attn Professor Hadley" or something in the title area of your post if you want help IC.
