Hermione froze in fear gripping Ron’s arm to the point that she was probably cutting off circulation. The words of Voldemort not only fill the heavy air like a suffocating blanket of fear, but they penetrated her flesh and soul. Hermione felt an icy cold chill go down her spine as the Dark Lord continued to spread his malevolence as if he were standing right next to her.

Then came the words Hermione had been dreading. “H-H-Ha-Ha-Harry…” she whimpered as her knees came out from under her and she collapsed into a ball on the ground. Ron knelt down next to her and rubbed her back trying to comfort her, but she could feel the tension and furry in his touch.

“I’m going to kill them all of them,” he growled as the pain of Harry’s death melted together with the pain of his brother’s death.

Sensing his desperation, Hermione grabbed him before he ran off. “Ron! Listen to me!” her voice echoed. “We're the only ones who can end it! Please — Ron — we need the snake, we've got to kill the snake! We will fight! And we will do it for Harry and Fred.”
